Dollshe Discussion - Part Six

Is something wrong with Dollshe's cart? It does not add up correctly.

Argh! EMS - only took 21 hours or so to clear customs, but she's been sitting on a dock in Chicago somewhere. They're SUPPOSED to treat EMS like internal Express Mail. Chicago has been bad about this in the past.

@MaryamDN - Sure thing. I'll get a few of the better photos uploaded soon enough. The weather's been horrible down here and as a result the lighting is terrible, so you'll have to excuse that. An extra 2cm on the 28M would make sense, though the body already weighs a ton... XD
Anyway, I'll try and get some photos up on DA before the weekend.

Meanwhile...Desmond's sulking because Azrael's been ignoring him and Ragnar's wondering why he's being forced to wear a 'dress'. (Desmond's also annoyed that the yukata in question is his.)

This photo is so funny. I love the way you have them posed. Desmond might be upset with Azrael for ignoring him but where are his hands? giggle. Ragnar seems a bit confused with the fluffeh hair and yukata - too cute.

 

Azrael's got his hands behind his back - for some reason he doesn't like sitting up straight on my bed so he needs to prop himself up. I really do need to tame Ragnar's wig, it's rediculously fluffy. I'm just happy that the yukata fit so well! So at least he's got something temporary for now. As much as I wouldn't mind him hanging around in the nude, I think my mum would have a heart attack if she saw him hanging around the house without pants.

Dreadfulme - Thanks! Amanda looks stunning in that resin colour! Initially I wasn't too impressed with her sculpt, but as I've seen the owner pictures start trickling in I have to admit I find her really quite beautiful.

All of your boys are so amazingly varied! and Amanda doesn't look like I thought she would look. I had expected her to be more 'muscular' and less open mouthed than she is.

Has anybody noticed that there is a sale on the 28M line? The skin choice doesn't work yet but the reduction in price is quite good. If my floating head had had a 13cm neck size, I would have considered the purchase and rethought the purchase of Granado Mars. The 28M has lovely joints compared to Granado Mars'.

Pity Dollshe only made 2 different heads for this body. It could have done with more choices.

EDIT: hang on, the captain of the wolf head, Lewis, is it for this body? Because Dollshe plans to release it ahead of time. I need a 2nd coffee.

 

SteamWitch - I love the diversity of your Saints! (Although I will be a bit cheeky and pick a favorite: Welly! Those curls! )

Lilla - I got my recently arrived David through the sale. Super happy about that (and still stunned he arrived so quickly!) Lewis is supposed to be for the 28M body, yes.

Therealwalter - I really do like Lewis...but I just can't imagine him on the 28M body. His face doesn't look 'mature' enough if that makes sense.

 

Here she is, ma belle Amanda Beauty - bald and eyeless, with her modesty covered solely with an un-ironed chemise. The largest female bjd I have (and the first Dollshe female I've seen "up close and personal"), she is unquestionably amongst the most exquisite I've seen. Her sculpt is magnificent. This young woman is a work of art!

I absolutely hate the waits, but she was worth every minute of it. I'll have a Venitu - probably some time before the end of the year and, if there's any way I can swing it, Lewis, too. I feel very greedy!

 

Goodness, I've been looking at Grant Phillippe for so long, sighing over not being able to afford him, and now, he's on sale! I'm sitting here almost biting my fingers thinking 'what will my husband say to yet another doll'..... But he's so perfect and fits the character in mind so completely

And seeing all of your beautiful boys and girls is just a push in the 'click buy' direction! They're all so gorgeous!

 

Yep And, did you buy him?

 

I'm going to buy him just before we leave on holiday next week, so he doen't end up arriving while I'm away!


What kind of hands do these boys come with? If I just want plain ol' unfancy hands, should I order the relaxed hands aswell?

 

She's very pretty! It's so nice seeing her in such a variety of resin colours!

The relaxed hands are the defaults, but I bought the other two sets as well for my David. Grant is gorgeous - what resin colour will you order him in?

 

I painted my Amanda~ I think she still need some work done, but I'm happy with her for now.

 

Saaya-chan- Goodness your Amanda is gorgeous! I wasn't interested at all in her until the owner pics have started showing up! She's a beauty!

Wonderful, I think I prefer 'not doing' hands. I've been thinking the Oriental skin. I'm considering paying the extra 55 for the copper oriental, but I don't want him too dark. I've been looking at resin comparisons, but I'm still not completely sure. I dont' want him too light either -.-' decissions....

JinCIncy, wow, he's gorgeous, your Grant!!!! I love those piercing eyes! Does he have the lip wrinkles?

I think that you really did an amazing job on Amanda. I can't get over how beautiful that Mango Oriental resin is. (I was thinking that the color was too orange, and in some other people's photos it really does look that way. I got GooHwa in the Caramel brown as I wanted a darker tone than the peach fresh....and it is very dark. Good thing is that I love the resin, and I was able to get the very talented lyn_r to do his faceup. I really do need to take photos of him and post them, and I hope to do soon.)

JinCIncy, what an amazing guy your Grant is. I love lyn_r's work, and your photography.

 

I have a Saint in copper oriental and it's really not too drastically dark - it's a lovely natural tanned kind of colour. I can't compare it to oriental as I don't have that colour on hand. I could do colour comparisons with other resins tomorrow once it's light out if you'd like?

Meanwhile, the weather down here is rubbish and as such my David is still blank (and will be until the spring time *mutter mutter, grumble grumble*). It's not stopped my from (trying) to take photos of him though...

I took some night time photos of Amanda and didn't get a chance to post one til now. She is a really realsitic girl and I am loving her tummy. The jeans are EID size and barely close, this is a biiiig girl. Soon, I want to change her bust out, this is the small size here (... Oh and her top is EID sized too, fits well):

Jemey - here are some Dollshe resin photos but most taken with flash. *My favorite Dollshe resin is the Copper Oriental. It is not too dark - just a lovely rich color resin. This photo has Ausley oriental body/Bernard fresh head in Fresh skin & Venitu in the copper oriental.

And this is Amanda in Copper Oriental - the resin photographs very nicely.

jo1961 Thank you very much! It looks like really beautiful resin. I really like both colours, and the fresh skin isn't too pale. I think the Copper Oriental is too dark for what I have in mind, but it is indeed gorgeous!!!

Oriental is Dollshe's equivalent of normal skin. It is close to most other peachy normal skins I have. A decent colour.

I can also tell you Dollshe resins that match Iplehouse: I have matched Dollshe resin to Iplehouse resin in four colors. IH White/pale - IH normal/oriental - IH real/copper & IH peach gold/peach fresh. The Iplehouse peach is a little pinker than Dollshe but fades to be a great match.
This is Ashanti with Ausley body (IH white/DS pale) and Venitu in oriental.

I love Iplehouse heads on Dollshe bodies.

 

Proof of the IH/Dollshe match; an NS Akando (many years old, so faded and yellowed) on a brand new Dollshe 28M oriental body. I could live with that. I suspect that wiping the old sealant off the face and starting fresh would have made this a near perfect match. However, this was just to show how a hybrid could look. They have their own heads and bodies to go back to. The fit was pretty good too.

 

MadamMauMau, he looks great! That's a fantastic match, as are yours jo1961! I'm very impressed.

I've ordered Grant now!!!!! Can't really believe I actually pushed the button haha. I better fix up my dolly sewing skills in the meanwhile....
I ended up ordering him in Oriental skin. I like that best for his character. I'm looking forward to seeing it irl. Thank you for the comparison pictures!

 

It knocks spots off the EID body. Handling an EID is like lifting a breeze block. Handling a 28M is like picking up a cat. Because IH emphasised line over flexibility, there are too many joints that want to lock into a static position. Not so with the 28M. It is not the best posing body I have, but it is pretty damned good. So much more fluid than an EID and so much more stable than an old Hound body (bloody things).

Jemey, you are welcome.

And here is the side view, for any considering doing this. Bit of gapage, but not so much that it would worry me.

 

If by outfit you mean a fox skin I threw over him to at least make him look as if he's wearing clothes, then yes.

Anyone going for a Lewis?

 

Your AKando looks really good on the 28 body MadameMauMau. I actually tried my David head on an SID male body over the weekend and the fit of the head on the neck is wonderful. (No pictures right now though). Good to know that Oriental is a good match for Iple NS.

I had my freshskin Dollshe Grant head on an Iple EID cream white model body for a long time and the resin match was good. I've also had my Iple Chase head in RS on my Venitu's copper oriental body and the resin match was good.

I really want a Lewis badly.

 

I want a Lewis badly as well. He's really pretty! He seems to be more stylised then the other 28m overall - bigger eyes and no texturing on the lips etc. Still not sure how well he would fit in with my existing dolls though.

I've ordered Grant I ended up going with the pure oriental skin. The copper is just too dark unfortunately, though it is absolutely gorgeous....

 

Gah! I have been out of the loop for so long, I have not been doing much with dolls as of late which really saddens me luckily a good friend is coming out to spend some time here to hopefully light my fuel! In the meantime here's a shot of my Dollshe Grant ^^

Not a problem, it's something I've been meaning to do for a while anyway.
Your Grant is going to look lovely - oriental is a really nice colour from what I've seen. It was just a bit too pale for my Saint though. Copper oriental was just the right shade as pale tan was too dark. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love the amount of colours DollShe gives us to choose from!

Your Grant is just too gorgeous for words. Honestly, if it weren't for the chest joint, I'd think he was real.
