Dolls you wish there was more clothing for?

Oct 3, 2025

    1. I'm just curious what dolls do you most struggle to find fitting clothing for? For me, Doll Chateau bodies are my eternal struggle when it comes to finding things that fit and custom sewing is something I wish was more widely available for them.

    2. I have had the same issue with my DoDollsDream Teacups; they fit Yosd tops and dresses, but have massive backsides that fit Minifee/small msd bottoms if they’re short enough in the legs

I have commissioned this Etsy shop for custom sized clothing for some of my girls, and the clothes turned out perfect
      MoonlightDollStudio5 - Etsy Norway

    3. I can also vouch for MoonlightDollStudio, they made the shorts for my YummySweets Orchid. I just provided the measurements from the website and they fit perfectly.

for me, I struggle finding clothes I like for my minifee boys, even though I think they’re pretty common

    4. Realfee. There are plenty of people making clothing for Pukifee, Littlefee, Minifee…..even Pukipuki and Realpuki have more choice but Realfee are largely forgotten.
I have a Gugu Moda onesie for mine and it’s cute but it’s not what I really want and the other choices consist of basic dresses or knitted/crochet outfits, I don’t like dressing fantasy sculpts in normal modern clothing or flowery fabrics. They needs Hobbitses type outfits Precious!

    5. DollsTown Elf body (which happens to be similar proportions to my Modded Luts Delf girl witht he boobs sanded back to a flat-chest - they're SD height but MSD width so while some stuff from each of those sizes fit, MSD stuff has length issues and SD stuff is often too wide/loose.

    6. hmmm i honestly gotta say i struggle with clothes for my angelphilia dolls!! their proportions are so funny but they’re so pretty haha

    7. I've got a number who sit in weird sizes! Sometimes it helps that I sew a lot of my doll clothes, but other times, I really just want to be able to purchase either basics I'm not in the mood to make or more complicated clothes I don't have the materials for.

The DearSDs and my Goblin Tales Cassie have the same sort of issue: they're short, in the MSD height range, but SD width. Bottoms are often too long (unless they're shorts), tops fit around the torso but unless they have short sleeves, those end up too long.

Then my Ringdoll Teen my Merry Doll Round Fang are like... slim SDs? Not sure if there's a more proper term. But they're a bit too short and skinny to fit properly in most SD clothes that I buy. However, they can fit in sufficiently stretchy non-slim MSD clothes, so they've stolen a bit of my rRabit lucky bag goodies from my (all slim) MSDs.

    8. The two Summerbird dolls have the msd height, sd width problem, but it's the dang Soom Rosette that constantly gets me. It's just so... noodley! Even by slim mini standards it's really extruded. Soom said these leggies go out REAL far and they meant it.

I'd been hoping with the rising popularity of Doll Chateau's skinnier offerings there'd be more variety but no such luck.

    9. Doll Leaves Teenage Dream bodies are weird because they're slim-MSD-sized from the waist up, but those hips are a fair bit wider than regular MSD/MDD. I made her a pair of Tripp-inspired pants, and I had to make my own pants pattern because nothing I'd found would fit her right.

And of course, my Tiny20 Delf is impossible to find clothing for. Fortunately, I found that Blythe patterns at 76% scale work surprisingly well.

    10. I have a little 1/5 doll, he's a odd size so I'm yet to find anything made that'll fit properly ! I manage to squeeze him into larger YoSD tops but bottoms are a no go. He's currently sitting in MSD shorts with a safety pin in the back to keep them on :sweat haha

    11. I struggle with dressing large SD girls in general, but finding clothes for 2D Doll's 68cm girl body is a nightmare... it's SO beautiful and curvy, but because it's so large very few clothes actually fit.

      • x 2
    12. With the influx of dolls with larger hips, I wish there were more options for shorts or pants that could accommodate them. My Yemaozi girl has low key been a nightmare to find bottoms for that aren't skirts or panties.

I also have a 1/5 sized doll and I second finding clothes is so difficult. She has one outfit currently but I'm unsure if she'll ever have a second one XD

    13. Might be a bit to broad, but I wish there was more options for dudes in general. Seems like the only options are military uniforms or band tees. Its so hard to find stuff for my boys that work for them.

    14. My 1/5th dollzone girl could probably wear 1/6th clothes if they’re stretchy enough but… it’s all too short in the limbs… also my Honey Delf 21 is too chubby for a lot of 1/8th but her arms are too short for a lot of 1/6th. Alas

    15. I wish there was more clothes for 75cm women. I have a devotiondoll, a Miracledoll and a Soom mecha angel, and I can get dresses for them, because they make dresses for ID75’s but they’re never cut for dolls with boobs, and so they pucker weirdly in the chest area.

    16. I have several difficult ones!

OfButterfliesNThings Paulette (Harriet in my doll profiles). She's 1/3 and plus size. Like actual plus size, not these curvy or "plump" girls. She's 57cm I think? And her neck is as thick as Idealian71 men, her thigh is thicker than some of my other 1/3 girls' waists. I've had to make every single outfit she owns, but thankfully, she did come with some clothing patterns, and I've made a few more to fit her too. But other than shoes, I'll never be able to buy her anything. Even necklaces are too small!

XagaDoll Boye & Sila (Ida & Ivy in my profiles) They're conjoined twins, with proportions similar to Minifee, but slightly taller, wider chest with smaller breasts. I can pretty easily adjust Minifee patterns to fit, but nothing bought really works. Their feet are also so narrow, MSD shoes fall off.

Coral Reef Opal (Cherry Solace in my profiles) She's a mantis, so...um...well, everything. I'll make her some bikinis or wrap skirts, I guess.

Luts Muse (Cooper in my profiles) He's 65cm, but soooo skinny! His waist and hips are smaller than Doll Chateau, but his limbs aren't as skinny, shoulders just a bit wider. 1/3 girl jeans would fit, but they're way too short. SD13 boy jeans are too baggy and short. SD17 falls off of him. Occasionally, I'll get lucky and something will be ok enough, but sometimes, I have to make his stuff or alter it.

DreamingDoll 2014 Elva Girl Body (Bambi in my profiles) Standard 1/3 height, but she's SO skinny and has huge balloon boobs, so everything is too small in the top and too big in the waist.

I have been mostly just buying patterns lately and sewing for everybody. It's easier to be sure stuff fits, and I'm getting pretty good at it.

    17. I feel thisssss!!! I want more fantasy/Victorian options for my guys. Modern guys and milliary sets are wayyyy to overrepresented.

      • x 7
    18. Yeah! I have this girl (Magikademia Taliea) who, in addition to needing to commission or make haer clothing, ONLY fits American Girl Doll sized shoes, which are SO not her style:

    19. ahhh yeah i totally agree!!

    20. SO true - although I'd prefer accurate Victorian over Fantasy which always gets the details like waist-level for trousers and length of waistcoats wrong (the waistband of the trousers should be at the natural waist, not the modern dropped waist, and the waistcoats should be long enough that no shirt and no waistband of the trousers show below the bottom edge of it).

    21. As a few have said here Angel Philia dolls. I have a boy and his proportions are impossible.

    22. I should have bought so much clothing back when Dollshes were the only 70cm doll.

Everything 70cm boy is now this generic "Uncle" size that supposedly fits dolls 65-72cm but honestly I have never bought anything in that size that really fits old Dollshe (and certainly doesn't fit my 65cm boys either). I really need some new things for my skinny old man.

I also have a hybrid doll that uses a Doll Chateau K-body-02, she's wearing a very loose outfit that works well enough if I pretend oversize is her style. If there's anything out there that truly fit this body I haven't seen it~

    23. Oh no, i think I want one. XD

    24. Oh, what a pain! At least Harriet can wear standard flat feet 1/3 shoes, as long as they aren't tall boots since her calves won't fit. What scale is your girl? I'm not familiar with that artist, but I love that body! Is it possible to get her standard feet from another company, or is that impossible with her ankle size?

This one right here drives me crazy. I have a couple of 65cm boys, one super skinny and one slightly thicker than SD17. My sister has quite a few big muscly 72cm boys, and an old Dollshe boy. There is no way in hell that all of those dolls could share the same outfit. Anything fitting her boys falls off of mine! I really don't understand how they say it fits "65-72cm Uncle". That's almost like saying "fits SD and MSD". So frustrating. Also frustrating that so many clothes in that size are now getting listed as "SD" or "1/3" and a lot of places aren't making things...or high quality adult style things...for actual SD13 range anymore. That's what most of my boys need!

    25. More mature looking teenage clothes for the SDC size range. Most of the outfits in that size look like something an elementary schooler would wear.

      • x 1
    26. Wish there were more masc or gender neutral apparel for female dolls in general. Asides from some modern stylings, most female clothes lean ultra feminine.

    27. Even with kind of well-serviced dolls, there seems to be little choice sometimes because everything available is in a similar style. Lots of cutesy outfits for SD/MSD/SDM/SDC but not much in more gender neutral or currently "in" styles. It's especially painful to see how SD sized girls only get heels or mary janes, maybe loafers at best as cooler shoes tend to be made solely for uncles these days.

My absolute nightmare to dress is the Dollmore Judith body - unless you want the sort of sexy options from Dollmore, nothing really fits that bust. The torso is also very long, and so are the arms, so most shirts that fit my other dolls will always be too short. I ended up having to swap the bust out with something from another company to have some more options for dressing, even sewing wasn't fun for this. But I guess nonstandard bodies are kind of a thing with DM

    28. She's SD size (albeit on the shorter end of the size scale)

Given the skintone and the larger girth of all the measurements, I doubt a foot swap would work. I'll have to klook inot it if I can't find any suitable shoes for her - it's my bad luck that the character I gave her (from a series of books) wears wildly impractical catwalk style shoes (and clothes at least two sizes too small for her). Clothes I can make, if necessary, though i comissioned her crochet dress. Shoes... I could try but will never actually get around to.

      Frustrating as hell!

    29. With the skin tone, you might be able to find a company that resin matches, or commission someone to dye the feet, or just have her wear stockings or boots (definitely done that a few times!) but if they won't fit her ankles, that's a moot point. I do love her though, so if she were mine, I guess I'd just deal with her troublesome self anyway as she is! :XD:

    30. Pukipuki. I have only found one seamstress who makes tailored clothes for them. There may be other doll clothes that sort of fit, but i like detailed outfits that are made to fit them.

    31. 60-63cm slim boys and specifically medieval fantasy style clothes. Convinced these don't exist and forever crying that I am incapable of sewing (and not for lack of trying). I just want tunics and belts with pouches and capes and little corsets, etc. Though honestly, anything for 60-63cm slim boys would be nice. They fell out of fashion and all the clothing makers stopped making anything in that size and as that's the majority of my dolls...I am sad. My boys are beautiful but too thin and with legs too long so every pair of pants end up being too short but wide enough in the waist to fit like 3 pukis.

    32. Dollfie Dream Pretty. Yes, outfits that fit Mini Dollfie Dream will probably fit, but due to the different torso lengths it doesn’t always look great. Same can be said for the longer arms and legs. Basically, they have a ton of options that technically fit, but not a lot of stuff tailored specifically for them.

I'll also second that I wish MSD clothing had more options, style wise, too.

    33. YESSS, even without regarding doll size, getting clothing in current styles would be great. Making or commissioning seems to be the only way to go.

    34. Honestly this thread is so good. Not only am I finding dolls that I didn't know were out there, it's so nice to know I'm not the only one who found the options a bit lacking and took up the mantle of sewing for dolls impossible to sew for!

This, a hundred times. I don't have a realfee, but I want one, and I've never once seen anyone advertising that their clothes fit Realfee - only Minifee and Pukipuki, and half the time they say 'Puki' and I don't know if they mean pukipuki or Pukifee, so I have to pray there's a picture so I can tell based on the doll's body.

Making a note of this for the future! I hadn't thought about Blythe patterns, but they *would* have fairly similar proportions, just scaled down.

True story, I only found out recently where my actual waist is. Imagine my embarrassment to realize I'd been taking my waist measurement in entirely the wrong place for years. No wonder I never found pants that fit!

One. Hundred. Percent. I understand that the vast majority of dolls are feminine, but sometimes I want to dress them in gender neutral clothing, and yet the only thing I ever find for 1/8 and smaller is lacey frilly dresses and flowery leggings. Considering the most common doll in this scale (Lati Yellow) is an angel body, you'd think there'd be a market for more masculine or neutral clothing, but I never seem to see it!

    35. I haven't bought for my RealFee in a while but I've had them since they were released and I got them several clothing items and shoes from Etsy sellers.

It's not surprising - trousers (in general) haven't been designed to come up to the natural wasit for decades. And even if men's styles were to reach up as far as the natuaral waist - most men have been raised to feel comfortable with their trouser waist worn considerably lower so don't/won't WEAR them that way anyway.

True - it's not something I have a lot of use for among my own dolls but even I've noticed the lack.

      Teddy
