Dolls with sleeping faceplate

Oct 23, 2022

    1. Hi there
Since joining the hobby 2 years ago I have become more and more interested in photographing my dolls and creating interesting scenes.
I would love a doll with an extra sleeping faceplate (not a sleeping head) for ease of changeover.
The ones I've found so far are below - does anyone know of any others?

      Fairyland - Littlefee, Realfee etc
      Botodoll
      Dream High Studio Hana

      Thank you!

    2. I believe Unoa dolls also have different face plates.

    3. I love sleeping faceplates/heads!

Bimong uses a faceplate system for his sculpts, so Bimong Dandelion is an option (although the preorders for her are rather limited). And Bimong also had a Narae sculpt with closed eyes (N410), but again, I'm not sure how available she is at the moment.

I can definitely see how having a faceplate would making changing expressions quicker. I generally prefer whole heads for security reasons (I'm always worried about faceplates falling off) but if they are done well they can be quite secure. Maybe more sculpts in the future will make use of a faceplate system and will provide more expressions. Magnetic hands/feet used to be a rarity but they seem more common now - so who knows!

    4. I have a Hana and she is such a beautiful poser once you either wire or suede her joints so she's less kicky. The sleeping face is wonderful!

    5. Botodoll is a full head you use the head plate from the OE head for sleeping head. Magnets are included so you can put them in best way for head plate to work. Dollshe did do face plates that had 3 looks including sleeping. Problem was the face plates would fall off at times due to weak magnets or improper install. Also face plates only worked on the same face. So people selling face plates of say a Hound they would NOT work if you had the head back of a Saint. Head backs had to be for a certain doll and it could be bad to sell or buy thinking it would work on any head back.
      My Botodolls.

Because mine have custom faces I found best to get blank sleeping heads.
