Ohhh Congratulations everyone! I can't wait to see all the arrival shots!

 

i got my shipping notice too ^^ i can't wait for my pearl to come home - i've been so anxious for her/him (yeah, i plan on making her a him )

Here is a quick meetup shot of my Martha (Bianka) in the brown candy curls wig. I love it!!! She is sitting with our School C girl who has the temporary name Cee Cee sorry for the soft focus here.



The wig seems fairly sturdy for this sort of style. We are being very careful though and boxed it back up for the trip to the meetup.
Martha didn't want to come out of the carrier bald though so I put a short straight Volks wig on her for travel.

 

I'm so excited to see everybody post photos of their Pearl!!
It's been a long time waiting for Volks shipping them out.

 

I got my shipping email~ She should arrive tomorrow! :0 YAY! I always found it crazy how fast UPS ships within the state. I'll post pictures after I get her. ^__^

I got my Pearl confirmation! She is already in MD! UPS is fast!

 

Got my notice too! Pearl and my wig bags should be here by thursday.. I'm not keeping Pear, but I'm super excited to get my wigs! I can't wait to see what I get.

 

I got my notice but I think she got sent to the wrong address. I'm waiting to hear back from Volks. I'm dying to have my girl home!

Wow, Pearl looks so different from her official photos.

 

I've seen her in person and she doesn't look all that differen from the store pics. The pix that was posted is a bit misleading. Also she looks better without bangs.

 

wait did they really put her headplate as NYDP?? Was that just an honest mistake or?? she does look pretty different from the official photos too... I saw the one at the Volks store a while ago and was taken aback by the difference

 

A picture of my Pearl.~ I am putting her on a SD13g body, which is why she's currently a floating head. I've already mailed out the SD16g body to the person that I'm splitting. In my opinion, she doesn't look quite as she does in the photos, which is a shame, but I still adore her.

I think the biggest difference is that Pearl's face is longer in person. D:

 

orangediscord- She looks great as a blonde. I'm personally happier her face is longer. She looks more mature. Congrats on your girl!

 

Pearl is AWESOME! I had my doubt too after seeing the one-off at DP20 and Ebi's photo, but once I saw her in person! OMG! Wow!

My only regret is that I don't have a SD13g body on hand. I'm actually receiving a BW one soon, so hopefully I kind of ahh, artfully take pictures.

And Chehime, I adore the angle of your picture. Does the head fit well on a SD13b body? D:

 

Pretty good actually. I think the neck is a little thick so a bit of sanding may be in order. Other than that the porportions are great.

 

I think it's interesting quite a few are planning on putting Pearl on some SD-13 type body. That was my intention all along to swap out bodies with my Madoka, Lanie, and give her the SD-16 body so Pearl can have the SD-13 body.

I was just wondering, does anyone know if there will be a physical NYC Dolpa this year? (and if so, when it will be held?)

 

They don't usually tell us until a month in advance when it is, but from what I've heard they've been talking to FDQ about the fourth NYD

 

yay! my pearl came today - i was worried i wouldn't like her because the owner pics weren't what i was expecting - but she works perfectly for my boy ^^

Is this and SD10 boy body? How is the neck?

it's the dollheart grey gentleman outfit i believe (it is from dollheart - just not sure on the name)

and actually - he's on a fantasy doll boy body - which is a perfect fit size wise and color is really close - the head is just a little paler.

 

Mine came in but I'm at school until 11 and then an hour drive home :C Then I still can't get it until tomorrow because it's in the apartment office. D:

Congrats to everyone who got theirs! My Pearl arrived today and she is so great. I'll be giving her a faceup tonight and then I can share.

Does everyone else's pearl have a flat spot on the ball of her nose? I asumed it's the sculpt, but it reminds me of when another on of my dolls faceplanted and she was like that right out of the box.

 

i'm not sure if it's a flat spot - but the end of her nose is flatter than i thought it would be - it reminds me of when people sand down pointed noses.... which had me worried at first (is a big fan of big noses)

I feel like there's a database for blank heads somewhere which is why I asked. I painted my girl last night and I am so enamored, I was worried she wouldn't look the way I had envisioned, but she has surpassed my expectations. I'm working on an outfit for her and taking her out for some pictures in a lil bit (then I have gobs of homework). I'll post those later :B In the meantime here's photo's of her blank for those interested-

Oh she's SO pretty!! You did such a wonderful job on her I think what I love about this sculpt is the romantic expression and appeal.

 

It's so cool to see all the Pearls coming in. I saw her in person in LA and thought she was pretty stunning but I really like the different face ups on her.

Tempurashrimp, you are absolutely going to love her when you see her in person! She is absolutely stunning!

Also, I didn't get any special sate-gaeri options for her but she came to me with her seamlines sanded off... and as very grateful as I am about this, is this normal? I'm hoping I didn't get someone-else's doll and they ended up with an unsanded one...

 

I don't know if this is a standard thing but my Olivia Morgan 2 came with no seamlines and I did not order satogaeri services either. Perhaps the SD16s all get this treatment?

 

Oooo my Shayla arrived today! She is even more stunning in person then I could have imagined.
Everytime I look at her that Tom Jones song "Sex Bomb" starts playing in my head.
