Dolls & Party Barcelona - 5th July 2014 -

      Dolls & Party is a BJD (Ball Jointed Dolls) event that will be held in Barcelona the 5th of July of 2014. It will be a like massive meeting of doll owners and lovers who want to share their passion. There will be selling booths with all kind of doll goodies (not only, BJD, we will also have supplies for Pullips, Blythes, Monster High...), renowned artists (seamstresses, make up artists, sculptors) both national and international, and a lot of fun games and lotteries.

      This event is opened to BJD of all brands, and we even welcome other types of dolls!

      We didn't pick our name without a reason: we plan to really offer a Party for you and your Dolls!

Sorry to be "that guy," you might want to clarify on your site somewhere (particularly for new collectors who might not realize) that this event is not a part of Volk's Dolls Party events (aka Dolpas). I know a lot of people will realize this but there are also a number of Volks dolls and outfits shown in the photographs on your site and that may be confusing to some.

    5. It didn't look like a Volks event to me (raffle clothes from Alice's Collections and all dolls welcome are a big clue!). And the name seems to be "Dolls & Party Barcelona"--so... I'm not a part of this, just saying...

      If they'd called it a "dolpa" THAT would be confusing and treading into Volks territory.

    6. They changed the name from Dolls Party to Dolls & Party in the time since I pointed out the trademark. It originally said Dolls Party. :)

    7. Dolpa could be trademarked. But I don't think even Volks can trademark the words Doll and Party.

    8. I am really really happy . It's great that ,more bjd events appears in Europe. I assist since some years ago at Ldoll in france, but one event in my country is simply gorgeous ,I definitively will attend this event

    9. Hi! This is Sakura speaking, member for the manager team of the Dolls & Party Barcelona.

      Firts of all I want to thank sleep_pattern and aikoe for their messages. Sleep_pattern that is actually a very good idea, I have clarified in our announcement that we are a BJD event open to all brands. Thank you so much! Regarding the dolls appearing in our webpage, they are the dolls of our staff members, and yes some of them are from Volks! It will be even more clear once the stand and sponsor website sections open up :)

      Aikoe, now I have to say a big thanks to you. We first researched the name "Dolls Party" only in our country, and found it didn't have trademark registered. But thanks to your link and another search we found out it seems to be registered. We chose the name "Dolls Party Barcelona" as an honour to "Volks Dolls Party", since they were the first who performed this kind of events. However, after a emergency meeting with our staff team yesterday night (it was 12AM when we saw your message) we decided to change our name to "Dolls & Party Barcelona", in order to avoid any problems.

      We have contacted Volks to let them now about our event and thank them for their inspiration, we are also checking with them if there is any problem regarding the name of our event.

      Again, thank you so much everyone for your kind messages, and Naranja it is great you are attending! We are so happy!

    10. Sakura_LH Not a problem at all. :) It was pretty clear to me (and other long time collectors I'm sure) the dolls were all likely staff dolls, and that it was definitely a non-Volks event. But I'd hate to have seen any problems with newer, less experienced doll lovers. Having worked on staff a couple years at our local BJD convention I know how hard it can be to think of/cover all your bases. I really hope your event goes well and everyone has a lot of fun. It's always exciting to see new doll events cropping up, even ones so far away. :)

    11. As soon as I can organize my stay I'm booking my tickets! It's awesome to have events close to my home city for a change! And well, right now it is quite clear to me it is not a Volks related event, but maybe it is because I am not centered on Volks at all, so when I read "BJD event" I always think "All brands are allowed", unless otherwise stated.
