Oh my god, I have to scream! Ran and Hewitt, all at once, I'm just gonna die of lust and my purse won't even be able to follow me! Just buying Lorina retailed killed me this month, so both of them... (throws tomatoes of love at Volks) Not to mention that Kakeru is a future lady-killer ; he's so cute! How am I supposed to throw as much money at once at the after event seriously? XD

Aww I am definetly going for Chika, she is a perfect little chinese child! I also like Kakerus wig and Hewitt eyes ^_^ They are perfect for M-chan (my YOSD Ayumu)

I am just praying for Chika to don't have too tiny eyes. What do you think? You can see clearly she isn't the huge eyes type (like Kasumi or Ayumu/Tanpopo). Maybe she is more close to Kuuta/Neon?

 

I'm going to be in Tokyo during the entire month of May, I should take this chance to finally go to a Dolls Party after 7 years being in the BJD fandom.

Sorry, I'm old and I've forgotten a lot about Volks. So I have to buy the guidebook before-hand to be able to get admission to the event right?

If anyone is going to Dolls Party 23 and would be willing to let me follow them around I would be so appreciative because I'm nervous!

 

I want to try for both Kakeru and Chika >.< They are TOO cute!!!

 

Those headphones are pretty awesome. Will they fit MSD/SDC heads?

 

They're DD size so they'd be best on smaller headed SDs or maybe larger headed minis.

 

It depends on whether or not you are hoping to try for a LE/a popular dealer's items/want some of the popular Sumika items. If you're hoping to do any of those 3 things, then yes, you need your guide in advance. Volks will sell the guide the day of the event, but I think they don't start until 9:30 and by then the LE line is closed. There will already be a long long line for the Dealer's Room and Sumika so you could line up for one of those, but at that point you might as well just wait until right before the Dolpa starts and not spend any time in line. ^^;;;

Dolpas can be fun but can also be exhausting. I personally prefer smaller US events for when I want to be social and see people but Dolpas have one of the most amazing ranges of items for your doll for sale. I love the glass eyes made by Silver and there are always lots of neat clothes for sale. So personally, it depends on what you're hoping to do.

I would offer to meet up with you when I first get there, but I should have my guide and I plan to go early because I want some Sumika items. ^^;; I'm also going to have to take a break part way through the Dolpa to get food, because I get very sick if I do not eat well and I can be a bit of a picky eater lol

 

I know right kirane? He's almost too cute to resist and I just bought a SWD Nana and a lovely new face-up for her...what we really need is a nice big money tree LOL! Alright, my tax money has been spoken for but I've got other ideas up my sleeve to obtain that little cutie pie! One way or another, I think he has to come home and join the family!

edit: Oh and yes rkold, I agree, I remember my last Dolpa in 07' in Los Angeles, I was a combination of both exhilirated and extremely exhausted. It was a good thing my hubby didn't mind driving us home!

Both Chika and Kakeru have stolen my heart. Such cuties! I will try for Chika And this is probably a silly question, but they are the same head sculpt right? I can usually tell, but their faceups make them look so different.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but it says that Hewitt has a smaller head than other MSDs and his default wig has been made smaller. I wonder why this is? Do the older Hewitts have this issue?

I really really love Chika and she'd be perfect for a character i have in mind but I just don't have the money right now . Nor do I have luck in things like lotteries.

I just hope she shows up on the Marketplace one day when I do have money.

Some Msd have smaller heads. Tsubaki, Msd F-08, F-09, F-13 and Hewitt all have smaller heads. Hewitt has 7 1/2 inch head. Other Msd have a 7 3/4.

 

this will be my 1st volks lottery (but not 1st time paying, lol), I'm going to try for both Yo's, but I'm really hoping for the boy.of course, its right during midterms, we'll see how it goes. it'd be cool to get a doll of my own.
whats hilarious is I was showing them to my mom, and says I wasnt going to try to get them b/c they're more expensive than a PS3 +extra controller and games. she said (and she isnt into dolls at all) "good luck getting them" ok? guess I'll do it then!

That Ryo is anerable! I'm not that impressed overall, but then I'm usually not by the One-Offs they post - it's always somebody else who catches my eye at the Dolpa ^^;. There is something charming about the SwD Luca, too.

 

I wish I could go! I love all of them.

 

Wish I could go there as well. Really want to get DD Sakura, be nice to get her at event.
