[Adopted] Dollmore - Lusion doll - Dahlia 80cm girl

Apr 19, 2009

    1. I'm curious to see what she looks like. The hands look almost childish to me. I'm wondering if we're going to have a gigantic childlike doll opposed to the mecha angel style adult 80cm.

    2. Gosh, I don't wanna wait till May to see what she looks like! It's a long time, but it's nothing compared to doll shipping-wait times. xD; Dahlia is supposed to have a "new face" apparently, so hopefully it will be a good change.

      o_o 26mm eyes. That'll be exciting. xD

    3. All her measurements are really huge.. her neck is 4cm bigger than the girl Mecha Angel, her hips are bigger, and her feet are 12cm! That is a lot of doll! But the preview makes it sound like she will be very magical/feminine...

    4. Damn. I didn't read into details but from what you guys are saying...that's huuuuge. o__o I'm wondering how built this girl is. xDDD It looks like she has more realistic features or like a little more masculinity in her. Those hands aren't slender and long like most doll woman hands. o.O

      And huuuge eyes. @_@!!

    5. I was looking at the 12cm...thats bigger than Akando? o.o

    6. She also wears a 13 or maybe 14 inch wig--that's a really big head :o

    7. I agree that it does look rather child-like!
I just did a bit of rough figuring with the chest/waist/hip measurements, and the ratio between them seems to be closer to Dollmore Kid than Dollmore Eve (sort of spot in the middle, actually)...so I'm thinking this will in fact be more of a 'tween' styled girl. Also, the 26mm eyes combined with the fact that it says she wears a 14" wig defiinitely make me think big, child-like face (which would be larger in ratio to the body than an 'adult' head would be).

    8. Holy jeez. These are some huge measurements. It's a good thing that this girl SHOULD come with clothes cause it might be pretty hard to shop for her if Dollmore doesn't put out extra stuff for this Lusion line.

    9. wellllllllllllll that drop down menu they got going sure freak me out, but her fingers look...cubbie to me O.o so we'll see what's going on

    10. Actually, the hands look very child-like, I'm pretty sure she will be like a little girl, the first one of that size!!! :o

    11. I hope this girl's face isn't child-like but it could be a possibility because it's their fantasy girl from the magic forest. *_*;; It could be like Dolkot's mature hand-sized fairy thing. The hands are also not slender and womenly like too. :o

      It's like the busty Model F girls that came out. It's hard finding shirts for those girls. So they should be releasing more stuff for the Lusion line in the future as well for those busty girls. XD;

    12. That's what I thought from the plumpness of her mouth and the cherubic fingers! I'm looking forward to seeing how she turns out. :D

    13. Yes, Dollmore also keeps calling her a girl. I'm thinking they're planning for her to be like a little toddler sized doll which could explain the price. If she's a chunky little thing like a huge Ante/Dollmore Kid, that possibly means you may be able to buy toddler sized clothing and shoes for her.

    14. wow...yea indeed, but i try that drop down menu, not sure if a mistake or whatnot but the total is about 1600+ O.o

    15. At least she'd automatically qualify for free shipping!!!

    16. indeed indeed, well hopefully it won't be to late in may, i'll be in japan then O.o

    17. Wow, it would be really interesting to see a 1/1 scale child doll, I'm so curious now! O_O

    18. Not that I need a monstrosity of a doll (Mecha Angels are already WAY past 'pushing it' for me), but I am interested in seeing what she'll end up looking like.

Hopefully, it won't look like a human child made of resin. Or if it was basically just a tiny in gigantic proportions. Please see avatar for my thoughts if that were the case. :|

Anyway, May isn't that far away ~ just depends on the day. Of course, I'm always interested in seeing the concept of new dolls so I'm impartial until she is revealed.

      :hamster:
      Tacti

    19. Looks to me like she has a more feminine shape then Soom's girls have..
[who have HUGE chests that make them look quite male ..at least to me]

I am just really disappointed she has 26MM Eyes.
And seems to have a tiny neck with a huge head like all dollmores have...
      [head on stick =3=]

which probably means she isn't gonna look very good next to any other dolls around her size that i possibly like.

    20. Holy balls, do you think she will be worth that sky-high price? I'm usually not one to cringe at price, as the Sooming of my wallet is fast approaching, but that's a whole lot of money. Anyone else more taken aback by the price than her measurements?

    21. Maybe she will look good with AOD 90cm guys?

    22. Yeap, that is a hefty price... I don't know if I'll be thinking about this girl. Toddlers scare me, so a 1/1 sized "toddler in resin" would have me running for the hills. :sweat

    23. And she's 4.2kg o_O That's a heavy girl ^^

    24. holy :moo, that's HUGE :o all her measurements... everything, she's enormous *_*

I'm afraid she will turn out to be a huge toddler *is scared*, but I am interested in having may come by and seeing why she has that price. I am curious about what did Dollmore think about this time! I won't be buying her, but I'm curious

    25. i NEED to see pictures of her ;o;
i hope she is not limited D:

    26. OMG!
she reminds me of Koitsukihime dolls!!!! *__* that's fantastic!!

    27. did you see 26mm eyes! does anyone even make eyes that large? this is not a doll, it's a child! it looks like you can buy her now, that's odd.

    28. 80cm and 26mm eyes!! :oHoly Smokes she is a little child made of resin, I just can't seem to picture eyes being that big unless you are looking at a real child. And her base price without adding anything is well over $1,000+ . Not interested in the least*_*

    29. It does sound like she's going to be something close to a life-size toddler/child considering the face and hands definitely point to a child-like doll. I've seen an American porcelain doll like that once, but of course it didn't even cost that much X.x;; 80cm is almost 3ft X.x;;

    30. Her measurements are... creepy. Her head is bigger than her chest!

      Circumference of Head : 35.2cm
      Circumference of chest : 33.5cm

If you scale her down to about 57cm, she's pretty close to the measurements of a Dollmore Eve -- slightly bigger waist and quite a bit bigger hips. Scaled to 57cm, she would be very similar to a Volks SD13 L-Bust (measurements borrowed from here).

Scaled down to 57cm, compare Lusion to a Volks SD13 girl:
      Chest: 23.87 vs 24cm
      Waist: 18.25 vs 18.5
      Hips: 28.07 vs 25.5

Reverse, Lusion vs. a scaled-up to 80cm Volks SD13 girl:
      Chest: 33.5 vs 33.67
      Waist: 26 vs 25.96
      Hips: 39.4 vs 35.78

So I would guess she'll look like a Volks SD13 with bigger hips?

    31. I hope that she's child-like. I've always wanted a large child-like doll with the beauty of a BJD. Like a Rozen maiden!!! :fangirl: I know that's not want many people are hoping for, but I think It would be nifty. Like a yosd or a mini made bigger. :chocoberry

    32. I did a mock order and shipping for her to my home would be $83.00 EMS, with makeup only she would be $1445+ grand total. I know she is going to be a cutie, but I wonder will she have elf ears?? The way they are talking about her makes me wonder if they are going to give Soom a run for the money...

    33. Her feet are the same size as my 1yo daughters. 0_o

It will be really interesting to see how she looks. Judging by the line
"wanders about in the forest for mom's song
A pretty girl Dahlia, she is all things wonderful."
      I'm pretty sure it's a child-like doll.

    34. skywalker beat me to the bolding XD

With them mentioning the bold words I think she'll look more like a kid too XD

    35. It'll be interesting, certainly.

If it were like one of Koitsukihime's or Hizuki's child-sized dolls, only made of resin and (relatively speaking) more attainable, that would be magnificent. (Some of those artists actually dress their dolls in antique clothing made for real children). But I haven't seen any inclinations toward that lovely surreal/faux-antique aesthetic in Dollmore's sculpting style.

No matter what, this is certainly the most interesting development in bjds right now. We've had the elves trend, the vamps trend, the tall boys trend, the mature bodies trend, the anthro trend, the hooves trend, the tan resin trend, the grey resin trend, and now...??

I doubt I'd be interested in buying a doll of this size even if she were gorgeous, not to mention the price and the difficulty of clothing her. But I am really excited that Dollmore decided to go out on a limb here, and I can't wait to see what they came up with.

    36. The measurements scare me. Seriously. Especially the height/head size/chest size ratios. I'm not opposed to big dolls, but the idea of a childlike doll of that size... err.. not my thing. Never the less this does look interesting, somewhere along the lines of "I wander what they come up with". And the whole fantasy doll thing... trying to rival Soom, I see...

    37. When I saw the announcement I was hoping for more Mecha sized dolls. I would love to add more tall characters to my collection. Then I saw the 26mm eyes! :doh :o I guess not! It seems like she is probably 1/2 scale rather than 1/3. I could imagine her looking like a child next to AoDs 90cm boys, but I can't see her matching with anyone else.

I believe Masterpiece makes 26mm eyes.

    38. Frick on a stick! 26 mm eyes??? The head-ons-stick scale kind of scares me... so does the price. The fingers look very childlike to me with the chubbiness and all. I'm interested to see more of her but will never buy... I don't need a child-sized doll...

    39. weird :/ does that mean she comes in two boxes then?

    40. It seems a scale child maybe what theyre doing...I think its a really great move if they do. It certainly is different to what is available right now. I like the idea, but not for myself!
The size eyes would be to scale with a small toddler (thinking on my friends 3 year old).
I reall hope this is what theyre going for, especially if it is fairy like with pointed ears. Im so anxious to see what its going to look like! Imagine customs opening that box!

    41. If the head is 13-14" and her height is around 31", I don't think she'll quite be a 1/1 scale toddler. I'm thinking more of a smaller-scale older child... slightly less than life-size (maybe 75% of life size?).

If you look at this head-circumference growth chart and this height growth chart, it looks like the average 3-year old is about the right height for this doll, but the average head circumference is a bit larger. Then again, that's taking into account real human proportions. A lot of BJDs have larger-than-scale heads and eyes for their body proportions... so who knows? :sweat

    42. Wow. I would never get a nearly-full-scale child doll, but I think the concept is intriguing and it does seem like what's going to be the case.

Plus, think how easy she'd be to sew for/to buy clothes! You could honestly go to Payless and get infant shoes, or buy baby clothes or big "baby doll" clothes :D

    43. Actually, the thought of a realistically-sized child doll makes me kind of happy. :) It reminds me of my little 2-yo cousin. I don't want real kids myself, but having a little resin baby would be neat.

Not that i could ever AFFORD her, but-...>_>

    44. She's....huge...and expensive*_* Wow...I definitely cant wait till they release more pics!

I think shes going to be a plump little elf kid. But just by the preview, i could already tell shes going to be very pretty:)

    45. wow she's huge!!! I think the price is reasonable considering the size XD! I have no idea what to expect :3 and 26mm eyes sounds sooo BIG! Her hands look a little chubby to me makes me wonder what kind of girl she'll be.

    46. at that price will she be limited?

    47. Usually if she's limited, they put her in the special issue category. She's probably going to be for normal sale. I think it's going to depend on the face for me. I like the idea of a smallish toddler. Don't know how long it would take me to save for her though.

    48. so she has two heads..... the one in the teaser looks like a sleeping head, i think she may look like a narsha?

    49. I'm really looking forward to seeing her :) That price seems pretty high though, more than twice the cost of their model dolls!

    50. I'd be suprised if she came with a sleep head. Usually they'd mention it in the spiel, and offer a separate face-up for the sleeping head. It looks as if she comes with a normal head (ie open eyed I guess) wig, glass eyes and underwear set which could be anything. I'm hoping for something cute and old-fashioned like the Narsha but with bloomers. I love the blushing on the hands. So cute. As for price, at 4 kilos, she's a chunk of resin and I'm betting they're also guessing that people will pay more for a BJD that's like having a child.

    51. 26mm is BIG eyes 0-0; I think the most wide-eyed dolls from Volks only ever took 24mm...maybe it was 22mm.

    52. Me too. :D I think that's probably what they're going for. *Crosses fingers* A Rozen Maiden-sized BJD would be so awesome~

I'd never be able to justify spending that much on a doll, but I can't wait to see what she's like anyway. :)

    53. errr me!! me!!!

    54. I'm so curious!

And so out of room for tall housemembers. I think. I still really want to see!

...shipping for her is going to be murder.

    55. I was just browsing a moment ago on dollmore, when I saw $1302.00 as a price. While freaking out, my girlfriend and I checked it out and it's an 80cm girl!

      http://dollmore.net/shop/step1.php?number=6831

If anyone has ordered her, or better yet, has her, please show me! I'm excited that Dollmore's released something bigger than the Glamour Model Dolls, and want photos!

I'll appreciate this muchly, as I'm saving up for AOD Ni, and didn't want a Mecha Angel beside him.
If this girl has a good body, I'll save up for her.

      ~Artemis

    56. I'm interested to see what she looks like..but yikes that price...that would be about the only thing that would stop me..

    57. Shipping for her should be free if the $800 limit applies. I'm guessing they've added it into her price. Her price is steep, but then I've seen some porcelain child dolls that I've loved, that were a lot more expensive (and breakable). Looking at the Japanese artist dolls that people were talking about, if she's anywhere close to as pretty as them, I'd definitely be tempted. I've got 2 girls of my own and at times I miss the cute toddler stage. I'd like a little girl BJD that's super cute and you can dress up. She'd be fun.

    58. Heh, I think the price throws a lot of us off. We'll just have to wait and see until we see the whole she-bang and decide whether we and our wallets can be swept off our feet.
      I'm really intimidated by the price. My mom would go and beat morals into me for spending 1K+ $ on a doll. Even if it's that size. o___o;

    59. I think I'll know the moment I see her face, I'll either go "yes, I have to have her" or "nope, not even slightly interested". I do like her hands though.

    60. I'm cringing at the price until I know what she looks like.
