DOLLITS DKD Mini Discussion Thread

Aug 20, 2015

    1. Hi guys. Just found out about Dollits and i really like their 1/4 body. Please post more pictures of your girls.:love

    2. I adore my Miso. She is on the DKD body that is, I guess, the "older" version. Poses really well for a bjd. And her face makes me smile every time I see it. In this shot she is wearing a Monique wig from Facets Boutique and Masterpiece eyes.

    4. @Flamingomoon Awe! She's really pretty! Thanks so much for posting your photos! She's my favorite from Dollits. I love seeing all the owner photos. I was ready to finally buy her a few months back when I had some funds, but she wasn't available anymore so some other dolls were purchased instead. It's great to see her from other owners until I can manage to find one to join the rest I already have. I really like her boots in the snowball photo, I've never seen any like them!

    5. Question for Dollits owners, do they fit most ready made clothes? Like from Bears, Deardoll and TTYA? How about the shoes? Thanks to everyone :D:D

    6. @mollym if you want the Miso face, then I suggest that you contact J. Baek and ask him if he can do one for you. He is an absolute terrific person and communicates promptly. You can also go to his facebook page and ask there. Lizzy's cowboy boots came from Facets Boutique and were made for the Tonner Matt doll. They fit perfectly. I painted the stitching myself as the boots come with stitching that matches the faux suede .
@ThatiRosen , I'm sorry, I don't know the companies you mentioned. The measurements for the doll are on the Dollits site and might be on the fb page as well. As far as patterns go, she can use the Ellowyne Wilde size pattern from places like Designs by Jude. Hope that helps a bit.

    7. Thanks for the info.

    8. @Flamingomoon Thanks for the tip on patterns! I've been modifying a Minifee pattern and it's been a learning curve :sweat

    9. @Flamingomoon Oh, that's a good idea! I'll have to hold off for now since I bought different dolls instead. I'll certainly make it a priority after I take my summer vacation.

    10. In case there are people who want a Miso (I adore my gal) Dollits is having a sale on Miso. 20% off. What a deal!! Check the facebook page for more info or on the site.

    11. I am trying to decide between WS and NS...I have a normal skin head from years ago in my drawer and it seriously yellowed even though it was in the drawer. :horror: I will probably dye that one, but really would like a Miso on their body as I have heard good things about the body. Ugh...

Anyone know if their resin is more stable recently?

    12. I've had my Miso for several years now and no yellowing at all. I don't know what to tell you other than that. My Miso came from Dollits, so maybe the earlier ones were a different resin? I'm sure you could ask J. Baek and he'd answer you.

    13. Yeah my older one is from 2016 straight from Dollits. Not sure why it yellowed the way it did, but at least it is even! I am thinking I might dye it to match FL tan. Maybe lol.

    14. I just grabbed Miso since I have been looking for her for a while! So excited!! If anyone was wanting her I suggest you go grab one now while they are available.

    15. And at 20% off! That is a great deal. Congrats, @jenlovesdolls on your new girl. I adore mine!!

    16. I cannot wait! I don't even know how long the wait time is for her, I am just glad I got one!

    17. Always looking forward to seeing more of that darling sculpt!

    18. @Flamingomoon Thank you so much for the heads up about Miso coming back for a limited run! I wasn't going to order anymore dolls until winter.... but.... you know how that goes sometimes. It was hard to decide between tan and normal, but I ultimately decided to get the normal. I have never done a faceup on tan and I'm not sure that MSC is the best sealant, but it's what I know best.

@jenlovesdolls I'm glad too. It will be exciting to plan for the arrival. Do you have any ideas for yours yet?

      • x 1
    19. I have been looking around at wigs and eyes, but I am hoping I like the eyes she comes with since that would make my life easier lol There aren't a lot of pics of the tan one, so it is hard for me to get ideas on what I like on her and what I don't. I can't wait to get her, I just hope I made the right choice with the tan skin tone, because all the ones I love have the normal.

    20. Congratulations @mollym on your new Miso!! I look forward to seeing photos.

      • x 1
    21. @jenlovesdolls Oh, that's a good idea to wait too. I don't have any idea, because I don't know what sizes she *really* wears. I've found what the maker says and what really fits best are not always the same. I did not realize they come with eyes. Even if you don't like the tan too much, I'm willing to bet that you could trade for a normal one. I think you will like the tan though. It was a hard decision for me that I made in a matter of a minute, fear and doubt prevailed so I went with what is most familiar to me.

Thanks @Flamingomoon ! I certainly would have missed the limited order period if it wasn't for you! I'm looking forward to making some photos! I have some soft box lights on their way, so I can hopefully make some better photos than what I've managed before. I am a night worker, and never have managed good lighting for photos I try to take. I'm hoping that a lighting setup will help so I can share her with justice.

    22. I have used lots of different color/size eyes in my gal, Lizzy. I've tried small pupil and small iris for different looks. The truth is, they have all worked in their own way. Including the original eyes that came with her!

    23. Hello everyone! Sooo...my Miso arrived yesterday. Unfortunately I will have to contact them because the resin "bar" in one of the feet broke in transit and the hook snapped up into the leg and gouged it a bit. My question is: In this picture of the unbroken foot, it is normal to have the resin "bar" that holds the hook curve like this? I want to say it is, but thought I better check before I contact Dollits in case there are more problems than I thought.

    24. Oh wow :( I hope this is just a fluke and they make it right for you! I have a Miso coming (not sure when) and will look at mine when she gets here to see if she is the same. That broken foot doesn't look right at all though.

    25. I just checked my Eunsu and no, the bar does not curve. It almost looks like the resin was too soft when your doll was strung and the bar was pulled out of shape and then broke. I'm sorry this happened and ruined your new-doll-day (usually the BEST day) but Dollits is amazing for customer service and I'm sure they will make it right when you contact them.

    26. The bar definitely should not curve upward that much- here's a photo of a DKD regular foot on the left (always strung) and a heel foot on the right (rarely strung):

I hope they can get back to you soon! :pout:

    27. It looks like the bar in my doll's foot is straight, however I have the older body and he could have made changes. I did have a resin issue with a doll by a different maker and she said that often the dolls are in extreme heat while traveling and this can cause problems. I'm sure you'll get your Miso fixed, but I know you are disappointed !

    28. Thank you all for your reference photos and input!!:aheartbea I really appreciate it! I have now contacted them and asked for replacement feet. Good to know they are good with customer service. :) Hope to hear back Monday.

      • x 2
    29. @redmaiko Congrats on your dolly coming home! I'm sorry about her feet though. I'm willing to bet that she was strung before her resin was fully cured. Polyurethane resin cures to the touch much more quickly than formulas like epoxy, but sometimes environmental factors can influence it too. I hope you are able to get a replacement set of feet very soon!

    30. Does Dollits send you notification when things ship? I just want to know what to expect. I ordered my Miso a little over a month ago, so I am sure she isn't ready yet, but it would be good to know their process.

    31. I don't remember how good the timing was, but they sent an email confirming shipment and another when the package had been confirmed delivered. There should(?) be a tracking number too.

      • x 1
    32. Does anyone have a link to photos of the poseablilty of the newer body everything I'm googling is the older body I"m concerned the posing isn't the same because of the knee joints being much different. Maybe it still poses the same though?

    33. Oh good, thank you for letting me know. I don't know how long their wait time is for orders, but I wasn't expecting her any time soon.

    34. @jenlovesdolls I received an email when they they shipped mine. :) I ordered her July 7 and received her Aug. 12, which was a lot quicker than I expected! She was blank though, so maybe a faceup would add only another 2-3 weeks?

@Kitty Blue I could be missing it, but I only saw a couple of photos in the listing for the DKD43 body, unfortunately. The Flickr gallery only seems to show the old too.

I already heard back about the feet, and they will be sending me a brand new pair! Yay! Yup, great customer service so far!

      • x 3
    35. Oh wow that was FAST! I am glad they are sending you a new pair, you can't put a price on good customer service!

      • x 1
    36. @redmaiko Did you get the new feet yet? I hope you do soon.

Has anyone else had a shipping notice yet? I'm patiently waiting for one any day now. Can the dolls share clothes with Minifees or are they bigger?

    37. @mollym I received the tracking number for the replacement feet on Friday. :) :cheer

    38. Yay! @redmaiko . I hope they get to you soon. I'm so glad to hear they were made up for you so quickly. This will be my very first dollits doll, so I don't know if they have the color mixes down pat or not, but I am hoping for your sake that it's a perfect match.

I ordered in July on the 11th, so I figure it could be any day now to get a shipping notice. I'm sure dolls are going to be sent all over the world and a lot were probably ordered. I'm just glad to have been able to do it, so I don't mind to wait. I'm not sure how I will dress her though. Does anyone know if they can wear Minifee clothes? Comparing the measurements, it looks like they should for the most part, and shoes too?

Also, do they have hooks in the feet and hands?

    39. Hi @mollym, they do come with hooks in the hands and feet. Mine came strung well, so changing hands and feet was not bad.
The Dollits DKD flat feet are listed 5.4cm long x 2.2cm wide, and Minifee feet are 5.5cm long, but I can't find how wide. I've stuck with ordering shoes from sellers that can give measurements, and most of those items are listed as simply 1/4 MSD shoes, haha :P
I don't know about Dollits fitting Minifee clothes (I tried sewing with slim MSD/Minifee patterns and they did need adjustments, like torso lengthening), so maybe someone else can comment better :sweat

    40. That sounds good @SailorEris . I suppose that it really can be any day now. My Minifee has a spare outfit, but I'm between that and a few extras I have for some other girls, she should be able to have something to wear when she makes it home. I'm glad she will have hooks, I really like when dolls have hooks and always seem to find myself adding them when they arrive without. Shoes are always difficult for me, and often the one limited factor to making a certain outfit look nice. I did notice the lengths were similar enough, so I will just have to try for myself when I can.

    41. Anyone receive their dolls that ordered the beginning of July? I am going on three months. According to the order it said it would be delivered within 40-60 days and I am a few days shy of 90 and my order still says "pending"
I have sent them an email but at this point I am over 1/4 dolls and would rather just cancel my order since she doesn't seem to be done anyway :(

    42. You might go to the Dollits facebook page. Also they do have a web page and phone # listed there. +82 10-2397-1838 http://dollits.com/. So you can also chat on the fb page. Good luck. It can be frustrating to have to wait, but this is a really nice company with (I think) a good product.

    43. Thanks I have emailed them and will wait on a response. If I don't hear back by Wednesday I will try to chat on facebook and go from there.

    44. Yeah, I can't lie that I don't feel a little antsy recently about getting my Miso. I ordered July 11th. I hope we get to show off our new dollies very soon! My status says 'Queued for Shipment'. I honestly do not know if that has changed over the months or not since I've committed to the 'Don't think about it too much so it's not so bad' mindset. Let me know what you are told if you contact them. I was going to wait a few more weeks to ask if all is okay with the production. I know everyone everywhere is having some difficulty somehow or another getting certain supplies that were no issue before the Big Panic set in. I've had a bit of frustration with every doll I've ordered this year. Although I was gifted a doll, so that one has kept me occupied so I'm overall happy. I am hoping Miso gets home in time to still be able to use MSC outdoors before it's too cold.

    45. When I ordered my Eunsu last year the status said "pending" right up until the day she shipped.
(and then she arrived safe and sound and I love her!)

    46. @kristo Thanks! I have been sitting on my hands, still trying to think about basically anything else. RL stuff has been very, very heavy lately so I'm very happy to have some good news. Miso has shipped! I always like to think they are getting their tiny plane ticket and going to a little airport when I get those notices. It gives me the giggles thinking that she's doing some sightseeing on her way home. I hope that everyone else gets their shipping notice too!

Edit: Miso has arrived! I ordered her blank, so she's blind, bald, naked and pale. I'll post some photos once I have her in a presentable state. I'm very happy with her and the engineering of the joints is not something I expected. I am very happy with her!

    47. I just ordered a Miso head from their stock order, and on sale! I can’t wait to see that cute smiling face in person. Planning to make it into a boy, currently trying to decide on a body :chibi

It’s so sweet to see so many happy Miso faces in this thread, really brightened my day:XD:

    48. I've found clothes from Nine9Style and Luts fit well (several products appear on both sites). I've also gotten some things from Alice's Collection that fit reasonably ok, depending on how fitted they are (some clothing items have a larger waist, which can be taken in)

    50. I haven't seen too many Dollits msd dolls lately. Are people still interested in them? They have some lovely sculpts. Maybe you can recommend some instagram profiles where I can see more of them outside of the official site?

For now, here is my Theia (Dollits Julia) as photo tax

    51. J.Baek is on instagram and on facebook. He has done a couple of really great new dolls in the 65-70 inch size. Both a male and a female. I've not seen them in person, but I've loved the photos.

    52. I would have posted a photo of my Miso, but photos don't seem to work for me. Can't post. Sorry.

    53. New I'm waiting for a DKDg Eunsu to arrive this week. I picked her up second-hand on Mercari.
I'd love to see recent owner photos of Eunsu and other DKDs to help me pass the wait time.:D

Edit March 30, 2026 : She may arrive as early as tomorrow!
