i have a DIM one but it s great to find "miso" and her artist here ( she was a j.Baeck "doll in mind" doll)
i love the other ones too ^^

 

I've been wanting to order one of these girls since they were at DIM, i love the discount too xD

(but omg the shipping with this company is bad :< only 9$ difference between a 40cm doll and a 70 cm doll... Most places, the MSD shipping is in the 40$ range.)

I love the body. It is absolutly gorgeous. I like having an adult doll without having a super big Doll like SD size.
Miso scares me a little bit ^^
and SooHee reminds me of my face, when getting to work on monday and finding 200 mails in the Inbox ..

I reaaaally want to order one but the Aussie dollar is so weak right now the more I look at these girls the more I'm tempted by SooHee too.

I am caught between "that is the most awesome thing ever" and "that could get really creepy really quickly" though.
But it's such a genuine looking smile - and so different to any other doll! Ah, if I had the money....

Has anyone bought one of these yet? I've been studying the photos on the Dollits website and the bodies look amazing! The elbow and knee joints are so smooth and rounded they make all other dolls look awkward and unnatural by comparison. Their posing looks completely effortless.

Normally I dislike dolls with teeth, so it's surprising that Miso is the one who keeps drawing my eye. She's sort of like FairyLand's realpuki Soso that way. You can't look at the doll and not smile. I would love to see photos of the other girls with different face-ups. Their blank sculpts are lovely but I don't really care for their makeup style.

 

I'm loving this body too, but I'd need the large bust. There was talk about offering one back in 2015. Anyone heard anything..?

 

I have plans to order Julia and Youra shortly. I just love their bodies!

 

I liked the body, it's 240 and could make a good hybrid! And also I think soohee is cute

 

Also, the shipping from dollits is really high. It's much less if you order through nine9style.

 

Just letting you all know that I asked them about a large bust, and they answered probably next year.

 

I don't want to wait that long. Normal bust is fine!

I'm back already!
I had been eyeing Miso on the Dollits website for a while, postponing and postponing my order... and then all of a sudden she was sold out! Such a big, big disappointed. But I got in touch with Dollits and was informed that Miso would be available again soon with an improved body. So today I ordered her ^__^ I also ordered the extra hands, which were previously sold out. Yay! And while I was at it I also got a SooHee head, I have seen her with the same faceup as Miso, making them look like the grumpy and happy version of the same doll, and loved the idea.
So yeah, I'm poorer today As some of you already noted, shipping from the company was quite high. Italy is one of those countries where you can only ship via EMS Premium from Korea, so I guess it was particularly expensive. But I'm happy and looking forward to receiving them!!

 

Congratulations @toletta! I am still on the fence about Miso. Is the new improved body now available? Or is it still to come? Frankly, I don't see how Dollits can improve the body--I love everything about it already.

 

Ooo, exciting! Hope they post photos of the new body soon (and add a large bust! :p)

 

The picture of the new body is already up. Basically the only change I see is that now there is a visible slit in her upper thigh on the hip joint. Other than that??? I guess it's meant to make her sitting up more easily?

And I'm basically in the same boat like you toletta, I've also been eyeing Miso for a long time and was then shocked when she disappeared from the website. I'll make sure to order her in this order period though, before she might disappear for good.

After looking through J.Baek's blog post. The only visible change are the slits in her thigh that help her hold her leg up better??
The rest were internal, like stabilizing the knee joint, etc.

I'm excited for the tan skin release!! Does anyone know if there are photos of the tan skin yet? *o*

 

I was disappointed to see the photo of the new body. I really do hope the thigh slits make the body sit better, because they sure aren't attractive. I haven't seen any photos--or mention--of tan skin. Is there a link to his blog on the website? I didn't see one.

 

@vermont chick he posted a link to his blog through his fb page! He updates quite regularly on fb. Here is a link to the blog post mentioning the changes to the body, as well as tan skin! So, today was the big day I went and ordered Miso. I don't have much dolly funds at the moment so I actually had to sell another one, but I'm sure it will be worth it. I loved her smile from the very first moment .

 

Congratulations @Sharkyra! I'm trying to figure out how to pay for everything I want without having to sell another doll.

 

Well, I did it, I ordered a Miso head!
I did want to order a whole doll originally, but I realised the head would fit (I hope) on a Souldoll body, so she's going to have to share with another doll for now - funds were a bit tight for the whole thing! Besides, I wanted to wait and see if there will be a choice of bust sizes later, as the artist has said - I want to see the choices before I decide which one!
I'm really excited though - she will be a 50s style girl, with a blonde wig (which I bought about a year before getting the doll, lol!) And since I already have her body - I can start making her some clothes already! I can't wait until she's here!!! Anyone have any idea of the wait time? I ordered her with a face-up, so that might slow things down.

 

@morganatron, I ordered mine with a face-up as well and I also have no clue, how long it will take until she will be finished. I estimate around 3 months? If she's going to be shipped earlier, I'd be happy though .

At least you do have already some plans for her style. I like your idea with the 50s style and am already curious to see her finished . I hope you are going to post some updates on her clothes soon ^__^

 

Ah, I'm so impatient for her to arrive, but I guess 3 months gives me plenty of sewing time!

In looking for J Baek's Flickr (which I didn't find) I came across the new girl's pics on his blog. (Go to his website and click on the "b" in the green circle right under Order Tracking.) The close-up of her face reminded me of JID Benny, which is one of the sculpts he did for Iplehouse. I don't read Korean, but I did see the words "coming soon" above her photos. I don't see her name, only DKD Girl.

I'm certain I'm not the only one to have fallen for Somi. I always said I'd never add any MSDs to my crew, but I think she's a must. Mr. J Baek just added 2 new pictures of Somi to his flickr. She's incredibly cute!

It's beginning to look like he's ready to release her, doesn't it? Maybe July 1st? If so, it's an odd time to debut a tan skin doll. Some companies are withdrawing their tan skins for the summer months because high heat and humidity don't favor production of tan resin.

 

Oh darn, J. Baek uploaded a whole Somi folder on flickr, and she is officially up on the Dollits website. She is absolutely gorgeous, both in tan & normal skin. I don't know what to do since I don't collect MSDs. Should I get her anyway? Her promo faceup is lovely, too.

@vermont chick Oh that's curious! I heard about tan skin dolls being easily affected by the climate... I believe Dollits is being casted by Iplehouse, though. How do they usually fare in the Summer when it comes to producing tan dolls? I hope the tan skin is not postponed (although I can't even decide if I'd get her in tan or normal skin She's just so darn cute in both!)

 

@Dayme - I didn't know that Iplehouse was casting J Baek's dolls. It should be okay, then. Iplehouse doesn't cast ebony in the summer, but I'm pretty sure it continues with the other colors.

Even if you don't collect mini size dolls, if you love her I think you should get her. She's calling to you for a reason.

Wouldn't you know, the one morning I don't check Dollits before coming here is the morning he posts the new doll on his site.

 

Somi is so lovely! It looks like Mr Baek is finding his feet at last. I wish I was still hunting for MSDs, but my sewing skills for this size are really bad. I didn't know Iplehouse was casting his dolls. That's fantastic!

 

Ohh I saw the new thread about Somi on the news forum! So glad about her release. I agree with you @Lilla, he's really found his own unique style and I feel so proud of him, I want to support his work so much.

I'm not 100% certain about Iplehouse casting Dollits, but I read on J. Baek's blog that he's an ex-sculptor for Iplehouse (and that's why the EID and JID heads are swapable on the Dollits DAD body) as well as DIM Dolls. He seems to be quite the experienced sculptor and it shows in his latest releases!

 

Did anyone notice that only 6 Somi will be cast in tan? I wonder if the tan skin is an experiment on his part? The white and normal seem to be unlimited.

I'm not sure how I feel about the completed doll. Her sculpt has a very young look compared to her mature body. I may be swinging back towards Miso.

 

Is regular Somi time limited? I was planning on getting just her head, but I dont see that option...

 

I don't see any time limitation. The only limit is tan skin, and even that listing has the comment: "It can be sold again." It could be that he intends to sell the head by itself eventually but hasn't listed it yet. The only way to know for sure is to ask him.

 

The "it can be sold again" is really good news for me. Sadly, Canada Post (the only delivery option that covers EMS shipping in my part of Canada) is having a strike throughout the month of July, which means I can't order anything from abroad for the next few weeks. It's a good thing in a way, since I'll be saving up! haha But I'm definitely adding Somi to my wishlist and hope to get her later this year; maybe in the Fall.
Anyone thinking of ordering pretty Somi?

I changed my mind and ordered tan Somi I agree with Vermont Chick that the face is a little immature for the body, but Im hoping the right faceup can fix it a bit.

 

Uh, so, its only been a week but I looked at the Dollits site this morning and it says my Somi is on shipping?!
He must have had some ready to go!
