I don't think you need to get tickets in advance. The last one I went to i.e. DP4 I got my ticket at the entrance. I just had a look at their official website and there is no indication whether it will be different this year. Just to be on the safe side, maybe you could just give Dollheart an email. You can communicate in English without problem with Dollheart and they're very nice and helpful.

Unless there's a real flood of people beyond expectation, I should think anyone can get a ticket. I'll try and keep a close watch over any announcement and let you know if it's going to be different this time. As for the hotel and transportation, I'll see what I can find and let you know.

fransyung and zetahadrian - re hotel accommodations and transportations.
I had a look at some hotels on Kowloon side and the closest I can find is located in Kwun Tong. You will still need to travel via MTR (Mass Transit Railway) about one stop away from Kowloon Bay. However, Kwun Tong area is more an industrial area, not the kind that tourists would often visit. I would think hotels in Mongkok area would appeal more as there're lots of shopping places and tourist stuff (the flower and bird market, temple street etc). To get to HITEC (DP5 venue), if you're in Mongkok, you can either take the minibus that goes from Sincere Podium to HITEC or get on the MTR from Mongkok to Kowloon Bay but you'll need to either take a taxi or use the free shuttle bus service from Telford Gardens/Telford Plaza to HITEC. Pls visit www.hitec.com.hk (it's in Chinese and English) to print a map of the area and schedule of the shuttle bus service as this will come in handy. As for hotels in Mongkok, the closest one to MTR stations would be Stanford (Soy St. - there're other Stanford hotels in the area). Pls understand that I've not been to the hotel personally so I cannot recommend from my own experience. It's a 3-star hotel. There're other choices too which you can find at www.hongkong.net/hotels which lists the hotels, their grading, facilities as well as their websites where available so you can choose the one that suits you most. Apart from Mongkok, Tsimshatsui is a nice area with loads of hotels and some are close by MTR stations too. And then there's more posh shopping malls in the Tsimshatsui area (try Ocean Terminal, Harbour City and Galleria all in one go as they're interconnected). This is rather long winded, I'm afraid, but I hope it gives you an idea so you can plan well ahead.

I went to DP4 last year and have booked my ticket to DP5 this year. Last year the entrance ticket in the form of guidebook can be purchased before hand at Dollheart shop on Dundas street as well as at the registered desk on the event date. I think DP5 this year is the same. The event place HITEC center can be reached quite easily, just 10 mins away from Kowloon Bay MTR station.

As for hotels, I rec hotels in Mongkok area. There are plenty of doll shops in the area. Really a good place for happy shopping, lol. Hotels in HK are rather small, you are warned. And if you care for sightseeing, HK MTR is very convenient. You can go to anywhere. I rec you guys buy Octopus pass at the airport. This super convenient pass works as your electronics purse. It saves your time when hopping up and down buses, MTR and grocery shopping at 7-11. ;-)

fransyung and zetahadrian - I actually emailed Pasu (owner of Dollheart and Dollism organizer) and am happily surprised to receive a phone call from him direct. He confirms what I and Rudy have already said above regarding event tickets. As for accommodations, he recommends Royal Plaza Hotel in Mongkok as a nice place to stay. Also, he says it would be more convenient for you to get to HITEC from Mongkok (if you're staying in Mongkok area) by taxi to save the trouble/time of finding your way around. It is the quickest and inexpensive way to get to HITEC (around USD7 more or less depending on which hotel you're in).

 

I am so glad I will be able to join the event this year. Thanks to Rudy! You are the best! There are so many great HK/CH dealers this year. I'm looking forward to over-spend for my girls^^

This is so tempting! I would love to attend at least one DP event in my lifetime, but I'm wondering if I have enough to both fly there and still have enough to spend! Lol. Perhaps I will know in July

An update from HKDP5 website on June 28th. Soom cannot join the event. How sad!

For those who been to Dollism Party before that live in another country, when you guys usually book the entrace ticket? Do we need to buy entrance ticket? If need do we order online or went there and line up? I am trying to get more info about it so next year me and my friend will go there to have a visit for our first time. xD
