DollFest 2017 at Otakuthon (Montreal, QC, Canada)

I would definitely know more about what this is about ^^
I never went to Otakuthon, so I am totally unaware of anything doll related happening there

What is required to those attending?

 

I'll be there, got my tickets for Otakuthon recently /o\ Always a pleasure to go to this convention and if there is a dollfest it's even better !!~ I can't wait

This year also I'll always have a doll in my hands as a lot of non-BJD people there still don't know about the Dollfest

@Lawrichai You only need to buy tickets for the convention o: They are available on their website~ You'll receive a confirmation by email and you'll need to pick up your pass before getting in the convention. The Otakuthon will be from Friday to Sunday but usually they open their "pass pick up" desk on the Thursday Everything is at Montréal's Palais des Congrès

If we bring a doll, will there be a place where we can leave our transport bag?

Yup, looks like you can preorder only weekends pass and daily pass will be available during the convention >.o However the Otakuthon is the most well organized convention I've seen ! I think that if you take the ticket on the day, you won't have to wait too long to get it.

But, depending on which day you want to come, it's more interesting to take the 3 days pass. For Saturday it's 50$ on the day vs 55$ for the 3 days pass.

@Lawrah do you have the days of the dollfest ? ._. I remember that last year it was not concentrated on 1 day isn't it ?

There is a bagage deposit if I remember right in the convention if needed. We will have a small room for each dollfest activities so during them no problem to leave your bag But outside those activites you might have to carry your bag around/use the deposit instead. I don't know if there is any lockers in the Palais des Congres though ?___?

I'll be at the Palais des Congres for the Comic Con early July. I'll try to remember to take a look if I see some lockers !

 

Hey guys! Does anyone know if there will be another dolly marketplace at Otakuthon this year? I usually go and set up a table every year but just wanted to confirm!

I'm coming alone from Ontario to the con! I hope to make some new friends and meet new people alone the way! I'm so excited! Though, I'm a little disappointed that it's so close to con time and there is pretty much no info yet on activities. The suspense is killing me!

 

Unfortunately I won't be able to go this year.

I really hope things go well enough for the event to happen again next year, because I do want to attend

The prelim sched is up for the con but I only see two BJD events: The meetup and the photoshoot. There are a couple of unmarked workshop slots that I am holding out hope is for Doll fest, though.

 

I don't see most of this on the otakuthon sched? Are they all in one specific room? Thank you, and I'm excited.

I just brought my DC Larry with me because he is small and easy to carry---and in transport, some of his glued on mods broke off. I'm gonna head to the cosplay repair room and see if they have glue gun this morning as the friend I am staying with does not have one booo.
