Dollectable photos! So many beautiful dolls!

Hi everyone!
I got back from Dollectable in San Francisco this morning at 7 am. I had to spend yesterday boxing up and shipping my displays back to the store in Ohio. So I rented a SUV with a hatch, and hauled all the boxes to the airport post office and they'll be here in two days. Spent the rest of the day tooling around the city, just enjoying the heck out of SF, which is such a world-class lovely place.

Thanks to the crew at Dollectable for making this such a successful event! You guys worked really hard, and deserve huge kudos!

I was also so happy to meet many of my wonderful customers and some people from DOA.
On Sunday, I looked up and there was this elegant lady in a blue kimono with a lovely smile... and it was Aimee from DOA! We had a wonderful chat, and what a gracious, sweet and thoughtful person she is. I can't wait to catch up with her again. Aimee, yoroshiku onegaitashimasu!

And at another time.. I spied that famous redhead Kallisti, with Mr. Kallisti in tow. What a thrill to meet the creator of Blastmilk! She is just as charming and funny in person, and I really enjoyed chatting with her and meeting her talented and doll-enabling better half.

Well, I could jabber on and on, but I do have a camera full of photos from the vendor hall. So please hang on because it will take me awhile to resize these and upload them for you.

I'm going to start with some of my stuff, but I have shots from all over the vendor hall so just hang on!

Everyone is talking about how dark the hall was.. it was lit like a school prom, with chandeliers. The lighting was warm but dim.

the dolls are lit from behind with colorful Japanese lanterns.











Next, it's Johnny Skye, a one of a kind Narin Charisma 60 painted by
Cristy Stone for the Dollectable event.



And here is CockleShelle, a limited edition Narae designed by Amy Malcolm
of Softly She Walks, Canada.



And last but not least, Ciel, a one of a kind special Narae designed and
facepainted by Paul Pham of Dollcis. He handmade the outfit, and also
did the facepainting as well.



SUPIA DOLLS
Yu Jin of Supia exhibited these dolls at Korea FreeMarket in Seoul recently,
and we were pleased to have them for everyone at Dollectable.
The standing doll in silver is a Supia Roda costumed and painted by Yu Jin.
The reclining doll with the pearls is a Dreaming Roda, and the little girl hiding behind
the skirts is a MiniSup Yisol, dressed and painted by Yu Jin.

 

LIMHWA DOLL
We were happy to have on hand Ji Youn's first two castings of the
Limhwa 57 Half Elf and Human girls.




This is for Anthony, who is in love with the faceup of this first casted doll.
*waves* here is your girl!



OK, I think that's it for my tables. I walked around on Sunday and shot as much as I could... notably Pepstar and Lady Morghayne will be missing from my shots, since the hall lost Internet late Saturday. I hope they took pics of their displays, which were excellent! I'd like to see them again too.

these pictures are great, i'm still drooling over them! i wish I could have made it down.
Is there a thread somewhere with write ups about the event as a whole, summaries, people opinions etc. Since I couldnt be there, I'd love to hear from those who were about how it went, what they liked and didnt, etc.

Hahhh, wonderful closeups, Nathankatt! I see you actually captured Mr. Lapin's fabulous redheaded Bernard in all his carrot-topped glory! He's awesome.

Ghastly chemical-flavored lighting notwithstanding, I do have a couple of amusing snapshots to share. With a few more to come later, after I get time to dump & edit photos properly.

Mr. Geisha Bermann had to stay in my hotel room for a couple nights. Whenever he wasn't being displayed, of course he had to be well hidden from the paparazzi. He is a delicate creature who just vants to be alonnne. Having a pack of scruffy bruisers around, like Adrian & the rest of my boys, seemed to make him feel safer.


He slept for all of Friday, anyway. Methinks someone had a little too much Xanax on the flight over.


It was very very surreal to be in this dull, shabby hotel room, watching the Discovery Channel over rotten coffee, rushing to find my volunteer rosters-- and then turning my head to glimpse an incredibly rare & special SA Bermann in the middle of it all.



At the cocktail party, omigawd!! Who owns this flock of evil tinies, and how many ARE there at your home?! Talk about a pack of bruisers! You do NOT want to mess with a Bong Sun Hwa. Word up.



Miss Idrisfynn also just vants to be alonne. Sean has to take the brunt of the flash for her. This pic isn't artistic, it's just funny.



Other rare beauties: Adrian (yukinojo) & Xian (Seimei)


It is now official: I cannot keep pants on Karim. Everywhere I go, SOMEBODY wants him to get naked. Poor lad. He honestly showed up at this con with the intention of keeping all his clothes on for 3 whole days in a row. But when it came time to model the bathtubs (raffled centerpieces)... and we didn't have enough nude models on hand... *sigh* Karim, we all thank you for stripping down in the name of duty. You handled public nudity with stoic poise and grace.


The rest of us handle Karim's nudity quite differently. This feral, dreamy-eyed tan Hound, for example. My, but there were a few slinky 70cm fans clustered around Karim's bathtub that night.


... I wonder who got the rubber ducky?

Guys, it was really wonderful to meet all the people who stopped by! Sadly, I realized that I spent way too little time actually looking at the nametags *facepalm* so I probably met a lot of people I converse with here and don't even know it. In any case, a great time seems to be had by all!
I took very few pics, to my chagrin, and the ones I took were in the vendors hall, which was dark enough that they're all probably blurry. But, I will dig them out of my camera soon, and if any are viable I'll post them.
And yeah, way to go with the "Dollectabl*drool*e" sign, Clarion :P But I seem to have sideswept the service problems I've heard about.

I barely took any pics; I was having too much fun spending money, taking classes, etc. It was such a fun time!!

Carolyn.S, I believe the red-headed "girl" is a Chiwoo. I'm not sure what the other one is, though.

 

I just wish I could have grabbed more photos of people, but I was behind a booth most of the time. ^_^;

I hope that another Dollectable can be organized for next year, this year was a blast!

 

Hello , so this is my first "post " but I attended Dollectable ...I am the girl with all the crazy gothy makeup and dolls with cat ears :0 . Anyhow my mom and I had a blast. It was so amazing to see all the vendors displays and all the gorgeous dolls . The classes were soooo wonderful and useful . Thank you to all our teachers for sharing their tips and tricks . It really made the esperience unique and it saved some of us from going in to debt by buying everything we saw and wanted. When there is another we will be there . The experience was great and all the attendees were awesome . Thank you to all the organizers...you should be happy cause it was super fun.XOXO

Dollectable was like the biggest, best meetup you can imagine. I didn't get to spend nearly enough time talking to people, but I'm glad I was able to chat a little bit with so many people that I've only known as names on the internet. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the orangebabydolly booth, it really meant a lot to see so many smiling faces!

Thank you, Dollyholic, for posting those shots of our booth! Ours all turned out rather blurry and dark.

And we thought the fallen 'E' was perfect, for a con full of wonderful, creative and slightly-left-of-normal people like us. We kept muttering Dollecta-bleh and giggling to ourselves.

Hi this is Grace from jpopdolls.net, finally coming out from under the packing. I wanted to say I loved meeting everyone, wish there was more time to have talked with all of you but it was crazy at my booth. Thanks to all of those who came by, I had such a great time and will be there again next year, hope everyone can come. This was such a great con, beautiful dolls and beautiful people all under one roof, it doesn't get any better.
