Probably thursday ^^ my python I ordered with faceup, so he'll be ready to go out of the package, but my kien I'll have to work on sunday when I'm off.. I'm going to try doing his faceup myself, assume to fail miserably, and then send him off somewhere lol

 

I just took some pics of my Kien whose eyes are just perfect IMO. lovely shape. will post ASAP.
has anyone heard anything about the new items on pre-order? (headphones)???

 

I preordered some headphones.... it said 30 days... I don't think it's been 30 days for me cos I waited until last minute xD But I doubt we'll see anything about it until April

 

hi reitaism. I tend to forget, then all of a sudden it's "where's my stuff?"
conversely, I've had the mailman knock on the door for a signature & been totally taken by surprise.
so it's been a month since I ordered. early April sounds good.

My heads arrived today and I temporarily hijacked my Crobidoll boys bodies to take a look at proportions.



Jaquer on the right is on a redesigned M Line (65cm) and Phython on the left is on a B Line (68cm) body. Jaquer proportionally fit the 68cm body better, and is a perfect resin match for the 2012 B Line body. Phython still seems a little small on the 65cm body but the redesigned M Line is pretty bulky and you can see the neck is large (the neck hole itself fit fine). The resin match with the late 2013 body is not very good as the Crobidoll resin has no yellow tones yet. I think as it yellows with age (as my B Line did) it will eventually be a good match as well.

As handsome as they are, I will not be keeping these boys as my dollie plans have changed significantly in the past couple of months.

Thank you SOOOO much for posting these! Crobi's b-line is what I was planning on putting these boys on, so looks good on the not so fresh resin. Crobi brandnew is like... almost white skin it seems like x-x I have a body from each year pretty much so we'll see how the aging matches with each head...

Right now, I'm in the realm of "I don't care about resin matches anymore, I just want a body that goes with the head!"

Kien left New York this morning and is on his way home to me. Then I just have to wait for the faceup artist I found and adore to open up new commission spots, and pray I get one! I can't wait to see how Kien fits on my Popo Doll 68 body. I did a lot of research before buying him, and am really hoping it was all correct! This wasn't listed in the opening thread as a useful link, but it really use a useful link so I will post it here again

I got my Python and Kien heads! Python has the default faceup... it's nice, but I will probably change it to better fit the character

thank you ^^ his faceup looks so subtle in the pic.. I can't wait to take actual pics of him. And the Kien head... omg, even blank, I fell hard for him. I can't wait to get him a faceup. I thought I would definitely want something heavy on him, but seeing the mold in person, even a lighter natural faceup would be good.. I might have to have two xD

Kien on a PopoDoll 68 body. Resin match is flawless. It's just perfect! Proportions look great to me! I think this picture however was taken at a bit of a downward angle, making his legs look shorter than they really are o.O
Sorry that I could only take pictures indoors and not outside in good natural light!

The wig doesn't really fit him. It is not his final wig, though I do want long and blonde.

I need a decent outfit for him too. I sewed the pants with fleece since I had a lot on hand, to practice. I need to make him real pants.

Edited to add: He is wearing an Iplehouse SID woman's tank top. He fits in all the shirts that my Iplehouse SID Large bust girl fits in. He even fits in her pants, though they are a bit short on him.. That's something to keep in mind for clothes sharing if you decide on a Popodoll 68 body.

And if anyone wants nude shots for better proportion comparison, I'd be happy to post them. I don't really plan on taking any more pictures of him though until I get his faceup, and no clue when that will be since the artist I want is booked.

 

The proportions look really good! It's making me think about getting one o_o I have mine on the crobidoll b-line body at the moment and the resin match looks pretty damn good. I actually just (mostly) finished my Kien's faceup. I can't get over how much I love this mold, he's really amazing!

Ahem. So yeah, anyone else gonna pick up a new DC boy this time around? I'll definitely be putting an order in for a Koyote head in the next few days. He's so pretty!

 

I really wanted to order Koyote but my finances won't allow me this time. I need to try again next time. Hopefully next time he is available li will have had enough overtime at work and enough of a raise to buy him easily.

The only other doll things I plan on getting for a while are possibly two faceups. One for Kien certainly, and maybe one for my other doll as well.

I can't wait to see everyone else's Koyote!!

I have a photo request, if anyone can help me out!

When I do get my next Dollclans boy, I need him to be a certain height in comparison to my other dolls, including a doll I am only planning at this point. Im needing to see what one of the U-line heads look like on a PopoDoll 1/3 body. If that isn't available, I need to see a body that has similar dimensions. in height, and shoulders.

The PopoDoll 1/3 boy body is supposed to be 63cm tall with the head, and the shoulders are 13cm wide. Im worried that the shoulders wouldn't be wide enough, and he will look like a bobble head. Resin doesn't have to match, Im just needing an example of dimensions.

Any insight or input you can provide, or comparison pictures, would be super helpful!

 

I do have a U-Line boy but don't have a Popodoll. I have several 1/3 boys that are around 62-63cm and shoulders around 13cm (about 13.5 according to website but I can measure). Here's my U-Line boy on a 1/3 body. Body is IOS Class 60 but I also have a Dollstown 15y & BlueBlood Doll which fit the same 1/3 range and shoulder measurements.

 

Thank you so much Mdonline! I don't think it looks like a bad fit.. but I feel like maybe I need to see it with a wig to be sure. Would it be too much trouble to ask to see him with a wig of some sort on? If it is, no worries. I won't be hurt if you decline Im thrilled you posted this for me!

For those of you who own a U-Line body, how do you like its posability? Pros and cons? It would be awesome to have that perfect resin match when I (someday) bring a Kien home! Thanks for your help!

My Phython head arrived in the mail today. I put him on a SuperGem body and to my surprise, the resin match was almost perfect as was the neck size. Needless to say, I was deliriously happy. The height was also perfect at 65cm. This means I no longer have to worry about bodies. Thank you dolly god!!

 

yuan_mdx: well, I'll be darned. one of those "meant to be" scenarios. congrats! is your SG the old style body or new?

 

He's on the old SG body from 2013 X-mas kit. I swore I saw someone put their's on a SG body and it didn't match at all. All I can say is, getting Soom's resin is like receiving a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get...

Hello everyone! I have been looking at all your gorgeous boys and they are so lovely! I like how AlchemicCandy's Vezeto looks like such a sweetheart from the photos xD
Reitaism's Phython with default faceup looks really cool! And Deux Silence's Butler Benkel is fantastic! I love DollClans's sculpts

My Phython, Tiquen had a make over since last time. He is on a Spiritdoll Proud body and the resin match is really good.

 

I just love how the same sculpt can be so different.

hehehe thanks! I love the earphones, they're really well made.
I find that Phython has an unusually long chin, which is cleverly hidden behind his clothes in the promo pics. I think in the future I might have to get clothes with upturned collars.

Benkel head on April Story senior body, shown with SD 17 Ryoma & Kien head on SD 17 body.

AS is having a big sale. I liked one of their boys. 40% off, shipped in 5 days, arrived in 3. I hoped Benkel might have a place
to stay now and then.

But...surprise surprise! he looks pretty darn good on those 15.5cm shoulders and 10.5 cm neck.
even with a little difference in color (AS is slightly pinker but not as much as the photo shows. to the eye,the
match is so close) and even better for me (fragile creature that I am) I can change heads without straining my entire body or getting
help from a freaked-out friend.

Next up....try my Vezeto head. but he might need even wider shoulders.

 

That looks really good! The color difference is so minor that it seems like just a tiny bit of blush from a faceup would fix it right up if you really needed it to be perfect. I'm very picky about my resin matching, and I would even be ok with that match.

Can't wait to see him again once you get his face done up!

 

By the way, is the AS body double or single jointed?
