Dollar store macro lens hack!

The other day, I stumbled upon this gem of an idea from Make: take a pair of dollar store reading glasses, and tape one of the lenses to your camera to make a cheap macro lens!

The tutorial is for an HD camcorder, but I imagine that it would work for a point-and-shoot camera as well. I know that my little P&S has a heckuva time trying to focus too close on a doll's features, but it's not always practical to bring my DSLR to meets (especially when lugging multiple SDs!). I hope to get to the dollar store sometime soon to try it out and post some results.
