Doll Wings....?

Dec 27, 2017

    1. Does anyone know of a company that sells wings for dolls? Preferably with strong magnets for connecting? I wouldn’t mind a harness either, or any size though I prefer 1/6 size dolls for now...

I can make a set of feathered, bat or butterfly wings but I want to support an artist that’s already established.

(Sorry if this already available as a thread, if there is ine can you link me please??)

    2. Heyo! Hmm, a store for wings for dolls? I haven't seen anything like that yet. I haven't looked into it but with my knowledge, you should look on Etsy to see if there are wings on there you prefer for your doll. Since usually BJD's that usually have wings are only specific to that doll (limited editions mostly) I personally never seen them sold separately unless the owner themselves sells them on marketplace or wherever. I do really think Etsy may be of help though for doll wings!

    3. I haven't seen any yet either and it's a bit frustrating...I mean, I can make a set myself for my Amara but I'd rather buy a set right now....Thanks for the tip!!

Oh nice! Those are gorgeous wings....O.o....I might just need to pick up a set!

    4. Yeah, I understand lol. It'd be cool to see them but I guess the placement/style can vary depending on the doll and therefore the companies won't make a line for them I assume. I hope Etsy does have something for you

    5. I've seen several cool doll wing sellers at expos who don't have an online presence (at least in Japan, small-scale shops/dealers really don't seem to favor online selling...). If you live somewhere where it's possible, try visiting conventions or shows and you may find different items from what you can get online.

I also noticed that FairyLand has their "Crystal Wings" for the new RealFee centaur dolls listed for separate sale under Fantasy Art Line > Body Parts.

    6. There is a shop on Etsy call BlissBJD that sales wings. I've bought the dog ears they have here but never the wings.

    7. There are a number of stores on Etsy that sell wings! Here are a few that I know:
      • NightMarketBJD
      • angelcardart
      • AutumnFoxCreation
      • TheMushroomPeddler
      • Mei4Life
Just searching for "bjd wings" pulled up a bunch of options.

    8. I gotta admit I'm not too fond of the FairyLand wings, they ARE pretty, but something about them just makes me not want them....I WISH I was closer to some convention sites but I'm nowhere near any, or I'd be going.

    9. Magic Time have wings for YOSD sided dolls (they can be found cheaper from liwenjie0310 here and here).

    10. I just went to look and their antlers and ears are adorable! I love those wings too! Such nicely done detail~

O.o I must have been typing jn the weong thing or wrong section then, I couldn’t find any for the life of me! This helps a lot, thanks!!

Oooooh, those ARE pretty! :3 I might need to buy a set of bat wings, they have nice sculpts~!

Those fairy wings look so thin!! Gorgeous though~ thanks for showing me!

Those are beautiful! How do you keep them clean though? Can’t wipe them with a wet cloth very easily...:/

I’ve seen the CD ones already and want a set for another doll I plan to get! Thanks for helping~!

    11. They're really not; they're actually quite substantial, and I have no fear of breaking the set I have. Their real issue is that they're rather top-heavy, and tend to want to twist out of place because of it.

    12. Really? Hmm, wonder if a bit of reinforcement is possible with those then, but that could potentially damage how well they pose...still gorgeous though x3

    13. They don't really "pose" at all, they're magnetic so they largely stay in one place. There's a little resin bridge that connects the two pieces to stabilize them (but doesn't do quite enough to keep them upright); I need to remake it on mine, but I've been using an extra stabilizer made out of Model Magic (air-dry foamy clay) to help them stay in position:

    14. I don't think she makes new sets anymore... but keep an eye on the Marketplace for Syrinxfox's wings.
Occasionally someone who has a pair will sell them.

That's who made my Palrah's feathered wings.

    15. Sorry to bump an old thread, but I am also interested in this! After doing pretty extensive research I haven't really come up with anywhere to buy reasonably realistic feathered wings, and since a lot of people have left etsy in recent years it's hard to find anything suitable.

There's a lot of 3d printed accessories, but most of the actual feathered wings I've come across are too small/not posable/too anatomically incorrect/overly stylized in a way I don't like etc. The only person I've found is Planetarium (whose work is gorgeous but they only seems to have the rare preorders, and also seems to only speak korean) and this listing for children/adult costume wings (that can be translated to large bjd sizes pretty easily I imagine, but aren't posable and seem to be just feathers glued to cardboard)

Personally I've dreamed of realistic feather wings for SD+ size bjds basically forever :( I would try to make my own but it'll take a lot of work and time (and money for ethically sourced feathers).

    16. These wings are the best thing I can think of. There are some problems with them. First off, if you order white they’re made of really cheap foam. Like that really light stuff that’s wrapped around new TVs. They’re beautiful, but they’re made of that. They also arrived folded, so they have creases and bends in the feathers that I can’t get out.

also, please don’t order from dollection. I know they’re who I linked, but they’re currently under fire for scamming. The story is something about the company changing hands and the new owner not fulfilling the old owner’s orders. It’s very messy, so I would contact other proxies like AC and New Clover Singing to see if they can get these wings if you’re interested!
