Shopping Doll shopping in Korea?

Feb 26, 2007

    1. My daughter went to Nine9 when she was there - loved it! She also went to a Volks store. She couldn't find the Iplehouse showroom but I know someone here on DoA got to go - you need to call and set up an appointment. Good luck and have tons of fun!

    2. Did you have to call beforehand and set an appointment? Or is it walk-in?

    3. Does it matter what doll you bring? I know for Volks, they apparently don't allow anything but Volks in their photo shoot studio.

    4. No I don't think it matters :)
I mean from their site they have variety of dolls that they used for ''model' for their clothes etc. I've seen photos of people bringing different dolls to use the photo booth.

I would have loved to visit there when I was in korea but sadly I didn't have time to visit ;(

I hope you get to visit there! It looks neat on how so many stuff they sell and the fact that you can use the photo booth :D

    5. I just came here. You can come at opening hours without any appointments.

    6. I hope this isn't in the wrong place, I tried finding the right category to fit it under, but even meetups/conventions didn't seem right.

As the title says, I'd love to know some BJD places to visit! I'm going to South Korea (mostly Seoul) in September and I'd love some tips on what not to miss! I've been away from the community that I just learned that the Crobi Gallery closed... in 2013 :o Yeah, I'm super behind the times... Thanks! <3

    7. Nine9style have a cafe! I went there once. The food was okay, they have clothes and dolls there. Freedom Teller's place seems pretty cool but I never went there though.

    8. Nine9Style is located right in Hongdae, it's very easy to find, all things considered. There is also freedom teller and the cafe Zephyros. Volks has closed as of October. You can check the Lonely BJD Planet for more. I believe there might be one or two places in Busan as well, but I haven't visited anywhere but Volks and Nine9Style.

    9. has the bluefairy cafe closed, or is it still open? it would have been fun to visit. They also have Doll Free Market every 4 months or so in Seoul and Busan. I missed the chance by a day or two :'(

    10. Anyone mind sharing the Busan locations? Busan is a lot closer to me than Seoul

    11. Not exactly locations of cafes, but this was the place to go, Doll Free: 인형행사 돌프리마켓에 오신것을 환영합니다.!
Doll free was held at the Busan convention center, " Busan BEXCO 1 Exhibition Hall 1F Convention Hall" but you need to check their website. Doll free was awesome to go to, My Holly-chan got most of her outfits at Doll Free markets.

I know your not close to Seoul, but maybe worth a trip, I have not been, but Project doll: Project Doll : 네이버 블로그 is another "market."

    12. @amarilian Thanks so much! I'll definitely look into it, and though Seoul is far when I get the chance to go up again I'll definitely look into that as well!

    13. Wondering if anyone has any more recommendations? Thank you!
