For context, I live in the Netherlands. So back in the beginning of this year (January 28) I ordered a Lan head by Bai Chuan through Clover-Singing. All went well, the order was shipped out to me May 19th. According to DHL tracking there were 3 attempts to deliver, all failed because of an error in the address. According to the app the street name was missing, it was just my house number and the zip code. To my knowledge that should be enough to deliver the package, but maybe DHL works differently than PostNL. Also I have been home on medical leave for close to a month now, I was definitely home all those times and no DHL delivery driver came to my door, not once. When I checked the tracking the last of those delivery attempts was scheduled for that day. It didn't happen, then the tracking reported that the parcel was being shipped back to the sender because "impossible to deliver due to address error". So I immediately contacted Christina, told her what was going on and asked her to let me know when the head arrived back at her warehouse and if I would have to pay shipping again. She said she would and that she would contact Yanwen Post for more information. Then silence for two weeks. Yesterday I decided to email her and ask for a status update. This morning I had a message saying she had contacted Yanwen Post and they claimed the package never got returned to sender (it has,I even have the new tracking number, although that stopped working after the package left Dutch soil). Christina offered to give me a refund on both the doll and the shipping. I accepted it, but is there nothing I can do about this? I was really looking forward to that doll, her body from another company is on its way to me as we speak, I have no idea if the mold will ever be rereleased and I'm recovering from surgery and am slated for chemo in the near future and I don't need this stuff on top of everything else. I feel screwed over. By the post, not by Christina. I will be giving DHL a call though, maybe post a complaint. Anybody have any advice or is it too late now that I accepted Christina's offer and didn't contact DHL right whhen they were about to return the package? In my experience, once a package has been put back into the system it can't be stopped, so I didn't bother, also considering everything else I had going on.
Either you or Clover-Singer should call DHL and/or email them to at least get things sorted out. You should also post a complaint about this. That's my two cents anyway. Also so so sorry this happened to you.
I think you should still try to contact DHL. I know nothing about how addresses or DHL deliveries work in the Netherlands. However, in my experience, DHL does call me almost each time before they make a delivery to confirm my address and ask if anyone is home to receive a package, so it seems rather strange to me that they made no attempt to contact you.
@Tippetarius @namika Thank you both for the suggestion. I just tried to call DHL customer service but apparently they're closed on weekends=_=. Looking at the complaints website I'm not very hopeful about them doing anything, but I'll send them an email just the same. Namika, I wish they had that service over here, but they literally don't have the time to call ahead for every package, we just get a notice in the app like "we'll be at your door tomorrow between then and then" and you're expected to be there. If it's DHL E Express they send an email right after the package ships to ask you if you want to switch the delivery address to a pickup point if you're not sure you'll be home around the delivery time, but that's it.
I hope you have gotten to contact DHL on your issue! While I am not in Netherlands, I have found DHL to be very reliable and quick in my country for all deliveries. They will message when they are on the way, and will snap and send pictures of my doorstep to confirm it’s the right house. For the recent times I had to call them reschedule a delivery because I wasn’t home, I found calling their customer hotline (listed on the local DHL website) directly at around 10 on weekday mornings guarantees they will pick up . Crossing my fingers for you and hope you get a favorable insight to what was the problem of your shipping from them!
