I saw an App online called Snapstar Studio, that is used e to take photos of Snapstar dolls and edit them. It has a green screen facility that you can use to change backgrounds instantly. I wondered if there were any phone Apps that are similar, but for BJDs? If not, are there any Apps that you can use for your doll photography? Thank you.
I don't know any specifically for photographing dolls. But I have good luck with Hipstamatic when I'm wanting to have some fun with it.
I have an Android phone and there are two photo editing apps that I use all the time for my dolls and other things: PicSay (Free and pro versions) I've used this for years and years. It's my main go-to app for color balance and such. It's great for adding quick filters, color adjustments, titles, stickers and speech bubbles. PicsArt (Free and pro versions) I'm newer to this app but it is HELLA powerful with filters and various photo manipulations. I ended up paying for the full version because I loved it so much. You can edit out objects and they show you tutorials to make super stylized pictures with various stacked effects. You can also export your photo process as a GIF. The full version also has an option for a student discount edition. Hope this is helpful.
I highly recommend VSCO cam! I use it to edit my pictures and it has a lot of great options and filters.
I use Foodie app for everything!!! it's on Ios and Andriod has a ton of GREAT filters and the flash, oh that flash!! it's not a flash it's a flashlight. Steady on so you know what it's going to look like!!!. Best Camera app EVER!
I don’t use greenscreen on my dolls but it’s a fab idea! I don’t have a dslr camera yet and I’m sharing my desktop with my partner who is working remotely so I think it’s getting to be time to download Adobe CC on a new laptop I’m wanting to learn to take better photos so my path will be to transition to a camera and Lightroom/photoshop. Meantime what I use most on my iPhone and iPad is the Manual app because there are at least a few settings that let me play with light and a limited amount of depth of field and it looks better than correcting or simulating any of this in editing...then for quick edits I use the native editing tools on my iPad to set the black point and temperature then Line Camera for the Auto White Balance and Levels. Everything else is just fancy-ing up the photos, using filters, making adjustments, using frames, etc...and I love both heavy-handed editing and photography with minimal corrections but it’s often apples and oranges and then personal preferences get into it.
In addition to the recommended VSCO, I would like to add an app named SODA. It's great for portrait photos.
Picsart is by far the best app in my opinion. It has a super wide range of filters and stickers for free.
