Doll North @ Anime North 2022!

Goodness but it's been a while!

I'm Lenore and I'm running the Doll Masquerade at AN this year, and wanted to start up a thread for Anime North for folks to know what's going on!

Due to covid, hotel changes, and staff retiring, Doll North will have a smaller footprint at AN this year. The main programming focus will be:

• Meet and Greet on Friday
• Swap Meet on Saturday
• Project Runway on Sunday
• As well as the Masquerade, Panels, and Game Shows.

Dealers will be in with the Artists Section of the main hall, with a space for 10-15 vendors, and all doll events are set to be in the Delta Hotel. If you would like to vend at Anime North for doll merch, contact [email protected] with Doll North in the subject line.

Doll North is a programming track for Anime North, not a separate convention, so a badge for Anime North is required to participate in Doll North activities. You can find info about Anime North here

The Masquerade
The Doll Masquerade is being brought into the main line of our attendees, instead of hidden in a side room, with the display being set in the Corporate Area of our main hall. (Don't worry, we're using locked glass expo cabinets and 24 hour security.) Our theme this year is Red Carpet: Punk, a take on the MET red carpet punk event several years ago. We want to see glamorous looks that incorporate a punk aesthetic and can't wait to see what everyone makes. (Please note there is a height limit for mohawks!)

I'll do my best to answer questions if anyone has them, and I can't wait to see folks at con. It's really been too long!

There will be:
Friday:
4-7pm - Meet And Greet
6pm - Doll Trivia
8pm - Dolly Password
Saturday:
10am-12pm - Swap Meet
12pm: Exploring BJD Panel
9pm - Doll Community Feud
Sunday:
10am-12pm, Project Runway
12-1pm: Masquerade Awards

The Masquerade itself is something to sign up for in advance and drop off will be Friday and Saturday. Dolls will be on display from Friday until Sunday.
