    2. o wow up already?! I was not into bjds last year at the time, so I had only went a couple years for Anime North not being aware of doll North.... but this year I will be attending Doll North as well for sure!

    3. I look forward to seeing you coming out and joining us, and yes this year we want the doll community to see the process of Doll North coming together.

      There will be new updates in the new year for the events and programing once we have our theme ^__^ we have a lot of new fun ideas for this year ~

    4. Thank you for getting the threads up and running Panda <3

      For those wondering AgentPanda is a wonderful friend, person, and bringer of enthusiasm. She was responsible for organizing the HOSL sponsorship project which contributed to many of the prizes we were able to offer last year. She's a fantastic admin, owns more dolls she can carry, and a supportive partner I'm lucky to have.

      Bringing on a second program coordinator doesn't mean we get to split the planning job in half, it means we both get to contribute our full 100% towards planning Doll North. This means the programming effort for Doll North is going up to 200%! This will be reflected in the quality of workshops and events we'll be able to offer, and the special guests we plan to feature.

      I hope our attendees will be as happy as I am to welcome Panda to the programmer team!

      Hopefully you can have a look at the Anime North website and check their hotels section, there are quite a few in the area of the convention centre all within walking distance (as well as ones that host events inside them, our doll north event is inside one of the participating hotels!).

      Maybe youll be able to convince some friends to come down and enjoy the convention with you (not just for the doll aspect), I find its far more fun and cheaper to travel in a group ~

      CharmyC is the one that first told me about AN and I will ask her the inevitable "what the hell should I do" question xD

      The only real reason I ever go to Cons is to see my friends and meet new ones so as long as there's plenty of people I'll be happy xD
      And shopping. Never forget the shopping.

    8. Meeting new people, friends and shopping sound like something up my alley haha! We had a really nice turnout last year for Doll North events and the doll market was bustling too! ^_~ I have to say it was a highlight to see how many people turned out both vendors and shoppers for the market last year, and it was a pleasure to have Luxor with us last year too.

      Hopefully CharmyC will have a few good ideas to toss your way :D for what to do too <3

    9. Oh man I am excite. Last year was awesome and this year's gonna be even better <3 I really hope Square Enix is the theme. It will finally get me to get off my but and make Leviathan that cactaur costume I never start.

I have to admit I've really enjoyed hearing what people are hoping the theme will be :) and Anime North also seem's to enjoy the fact that we are going this route as well with a theme that throws back to the root of the convention. We are hoping that our attendee's/future attendee's are also enjoying having a little input as to what they want to see as the them <3

      To be honest Ice I would LOVE to see Leviathan in a cactaur costume no matter what theme wins simply because it would be Epic.

    11. I can't decide what theme would be the best! I like all the choices and cannot decide which one would be easiest to make a cosplay of xD

      I looked up the hotels around the Con and would like to know, though I could certainly find it in AN's forum I really do not want to join yet another forum for this, are the price listen on AN's site per person or room ?
      Also, is there anyone from QC or MTL going ? I'm trying to figure out how the heck I'll get to ON xP

    13. This sounds so exciting. I'm hopefully getting my first doll in the new year and would love to bring him to the meet! Its okay if we attend while cosplaying too? I'm a pretty new con goer still so hopefully I won't get lost :sweat.

    14. Panda << That's the page I went but I mean to ask if the price listed are for each person in the room or for the room itself :O!
      The 2 closest hotels are already booked so I need to figure it out soon so I can get people in fast xD

      Gr8pes << I think it really depends on your cosplay... I only got costumed once for my last con and I will not do it again with a doll... it's really hard to have both at the same time XD

    15. I try not to pick really extravagant cosplays... and I'd probably have to wait to see what the theme is for this year before I can dress myself and my future doll.

    16. Ah its for the room itself, the price isnt for each person, its the total for the room that night :)

      So if you have a single or a double, the price listed beside it is the total for the room for that one night.

      Its the same thing with the rooms for three and four people, its for the room per night not per person.

      ^^;; I hope that helps.

      @Gr8pes: Its a lot of fun to go in cosplay, and your more than welcome to come in cosplay. We just ask anyone who has large props for their cosplay to be a little more careful in the Doll North room. Cosplay is definitely welcome for both doll and doll owners.

      Hi Laelen!

      Information about the Doll Marketplace will be available sometime in the New Year. All of Doll Norths updates and information will be available here on DoA and a couple other Local Community Websites in our News Threads as it becomes available over the coming months.

      Also as a general reminder :) the survey for the Doll North 2012 theme will be ending this Sunday be sure to get your votes in! Competition is close right now between a couple of the choices!

      Personally I'm looking forward to having some of my own dolls there with me, Im hoping to make a couple of little cosplays for them just for fun!

      I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and what they may choose to do! Especially if they decide to enter the competition once it opens for registration ^__^

    44. I haven't been to a doll meetup at Anime North before, I went to the doll meetup at Ai-kon last year and that was really fun :3
      I should be going this year, I'm saving every penny for the hotel and stuff, maybe if I get a table I can sell some art and make monies when I'm there to help with the expenses. College makes things so difficult. I'll be bringing Penelope who may or may not have a new dress and face-up by then :P and I may bring Monique cuz I'd feel bad leaving her out :P

      The ticket sales have certainly been going well by the sounds of it through Anime North Announcements. Thank you for posting the update HighPriestessIce its good to keep on top of this especially for those who have yet to buy their tickets :D

    58. I am so glad I bought tickets in group order when they first got out. I will be attending Anime North with my two adult kids. Looking so forward to going. Hoping I will be healthy enough to attend and survive the hospital proceedure in late April. It's one of my great motivators to keep up the fight. Don't plan on doing any events, just will be happy to attend, meets and panels and buy stuff and meet a lot of friends.

    59. We will making some updates within the next two weeks ( first full two weeks of march). Ticket sales for AN weekend passes is now at 60% sold out!

      Please keep an eye out as we are hoping to make some event announcements and update our programming. Full schedules will not be out until around the end of April.
