Doll Leaves

I haven't ordered directly, but I did order a Doll Leaves body from Alice ages ago, and other dolls from her very recently, and it's always been a great experience. She's very kind and helpful, and the wait times seem to be about the same as they are from the company. If I recall correctly (someone correct me if I'm wrong), DDE orders dolls in large group orders, and Alice orders immediately when you order, so dolls from DDE could have a longer wait time if they're waiting on a very large order to arrive. However, if you've used DDE before and were happy with their service, you could always send them a message and ask if they can order your doll for you. I'm not sure why, but some dealers don't list all dolls from a company, but will do so by request.

 

I’ve only ordered from Alice, and one of those was a Doll Leaves Louis. Alice is extremely nice, gets back to any questions you ask really quickly, and my dolls arrived in a timely manner and in perfect condition. I’ve never gotten anything from DDE, but if your experience with them has been good, then it seems like you can’t really go wrong between the two

 

I have a question for you Doll Leaves owners. Can you change the hands with a different company? Say for instance Dream Valley? I am wanting to get A Doll Leaves body to go with a Minifee head.

 

Are you referring to ordering hands from another company instead of the default pair with the body, or getting hands from another company and swapping them out? For the first, I don't believe companies will allow for orders that specifically sell different company brand hands instead of their default set. As for whether they can be swapped out—it's going to depend on wrist size. They can technically be swapped out, but you have to keep in mind the circumference of the wrist ball on the other company's hands compared with the DL doll you're interested in. For example, I have a Doll Leaves 70cm body with Doll Family-H 1/3 male jointed hands, which relatively work fine but needed a bit of hot glue sueding in the wrist to get a better fit. Otherwise they would sit further inside the wrist area and not have the best mobility.

In the end, it's really going to depend on whether you're wanting to swap them out or buy the Doll Leaves doll with a different company's hands.

 

At this point I am hoping to swap them out for different hands for different poses. I understand they are held on with the S hook and wonder if it would be possible to change out the s hook and replace it with the minifee joint. If not I will still be looking for other hands to fit it.
I come to y'all because you own the doll I am looking at and while I understand some of y'all may not be happy with what I would like to do to the one I am going to buy, I still wish to find out the information I seek.
Not just hands being changed out but feet. Would I be able to use ones so she can wear high heels, I'm more wanting boots since she isn't one of those girly girls.
