I know right! The price is so tempting! But I should really put a hold on my expenses But Berg is sooo nice (Louis too, elf ears are my ruin)

 

okay so I ordered Ben, Jeremy and Augus today.

Clover Singing says about 5 months wait time. Which is fine.

If I can get the money together in time i'm tempted to order a couple more bodies for some floating heads but we'll see.

I'd need to sell some stuff and selling stuff is such a pain. I have boxes and boxes of stuff to rehome and I just.. dun wannaaaa. Too much work. Tired now, wanna sleep.

 

Congratulations! I hope they come soon! Let’s see if before the sale ends I will do a crazy thing and get myself a Louis or a Berg. Sooo tempted

 

Acbjd just emailed me to tell me my Nina is on her way. I'm so excited I ordered her on February 24 so it was truly the 5 months they told me

 

Welp, he's all paid for! Now I just need to sit down for the wait~ There's no way I'll be the first to own a Louis is there?

I know a few people were tempted by Louis and ben but I havent' seen many confirmed orders.

Then again, haven't seen many people with Duncan or Fei either, I don't think those have shipped yet.

 

@Shiro I made the plunge yesterday, so I'll be following along behind you with a lovely Louis. I've decided to do his faceup myself, since I'm quite enjoying doing faceups now!

 

Congrats! Where did you get him? And did they tell you how much is the wait time? I am trying to decide if I should get him now or wait (since I already got a doll this month I didn’t wanna spend more in bjds... but Louis is calling me )

 

I got him through Clover-Singing, since they are having a pretty good sale at the moment! I didn't get anything regarding the wait time, but I'm going to assume 5-6 months since that was my last wait with DL.

 

Yeah the sale is... very tempting! Even cause I would have plenty uses for an msd body (and theirs for the price are pretty decent, the mobility looks very awesome for being that cheap!)
I guess I will decide last minute before the sale ends... cause I doubt there will be another discount nice as that one for some time.

 

Yeah, the sale was 90% of why I bought him now instead of waiting later. I also need him to share his body for a smidge with another of my floating heads. Still, interesting facial expressions and elf ears are two of my favorite BJD features, so I pretty much fell in love with Louis the moment I saw him.

 

Same as me! I am searching so hard for an elven bjd, and affordable, that I like (I don’t think I will get a lot of SDs cause they are expensive and... huge!) but I didn’t quite found what I searched for. But Louis is pretty nice, and looking and him and comparing him to Berg (my other fav from Doll Leaves) I actually started to find Louis far more interesting. I stared quite a lot at both their blank heads, and I think Louis is pretty fine! Plus... he could share body with floating heads I will get in the future. Not a bad deal.
I will consider it, depending on how is my financial situation before the sale ends

 

The sale is also what made me buckle and buy my Ida, I too have a weakness for elves

 

I'm umming and ahhing. I have stuff selling on ebay right now which means I SHOULD have a nice bit of change toward getting those bodies for the floating heads buuuut i'm waffling on it. I know I want a doll leaves boy body for at least one of them, i'm just not sure if I want them both on the type 2 boy body or want to get some other body for variation or if I want to keep Ben who i've already ordered on his default body or get him something lankier to emphasise the elf thing. Indecision!

But yeah, hopefully i'll have enough to order at least one more body before the sale ends.

 

Gosh I am really not great at using all the social tools at my disposal!

I (impulse!) ordered a blank Mili and Teresa at the end of May (apparently right at the end of that sales period!) through DDE. I emailed them to see if there's an update on expected wait time, though I see what other folks've been told is right about 5 months. If that is the case, then I can put it out of mind for a while (I'm good at that!).

But now there's this other sale and I need an S-hook body (I just... don't want to fuss with my non-S-hook bodies) but I wish my Teresa was here for me to play around with before I do that! haha.

(I need to update the waitlist, too!)

 

I ordered Louis on the version 1 girl body the other day I was originally going to get a boy body (and a different head) but then I thought “I have a tiny boy on the way, and I’m planning on some day having a DZ SD boy... I’d like to have a girl to make pretty clothes for!” So I looked through all the girls over and over, but none really stuck out to me, but then I found out I could mix the heads and bodies, and I eventually fell in love with Louis I ordered the ver. 1 body because I want the extra posability, and because I’m fond of the less curvy body.

 

well stuff sold and I now have a nice chunk of change in my pocket.
So... do I order another doll leaves boy body for my floating heads, two of them and just be done with it?
I'm honestly tempted to order two full dolls because it's like $15 more to just get a full doll and i'm pretty sure I could sell on the heads for more than that.
But I dunno. the risk there is i'll fall for the heads! lol.
and then i'd need to buy MORE bodies.

 

Just order 2 of the same dolls? So if you fall in love with the head..l you will have 2 and will be forced to sell one
But honestly? I dunno! I would go for the full doll since it’s 15+, and either split the heads or just share the body if I end up liking those heads.

I'll have a think about it anyway. I have a while to make the decision.

I need a girl body for the other floating head but the one i'm eying is a lot more expensive so that's gonna have to wait.

Part of me was also considering rebodying Ben anyway as I think his super wierd features would suit a really lanky taller body you know? embrace the whole elf thing. get him a body that's 90% leg hahaha.

I ordered a msd body for a floating head! I really should order another one for another doll but money. And his noggin hasn't even arrived yet.

 

So, I did it: I finally found the courage to order my second doll in less than a month (and go over my "I will buy just one doll this year.. yeah, lies), and I choose Louis! Since he has a pretty interesting face and…. elf ears. Yes, I was totally sold in the end! More I looked at him, more I liked him, even if I am not 100% sure about the half opened mouth. I guess we will see when I get him.
Now the wait begins

 

@Rurimas His ears really are lovely! I'm so glad someone posted the blank pictures of his sculpt, it's hard to tell whether he has them or not in the promotional pictures! I'm really looking forward to giving him a faceup, especially now that I got some tooth painting experience from my DC Hyman! XD

 

I admit when I saw the blank sculpt and noticed he really has elf ears, I was sold. Plus I find his face pretty nice, not too childish compared to other dolls, but not rugged either, face proportions kinda fits my tastes too (I am pretty demanding in that, so most Doll Leaves heads are not my cup of tea, but gladly they are starting to do less "anime" proportioned heads and more on the realistic side, proportion wise).
Now they told me wait time will be 5-6 months, I cry already Come fast home Louis

 

Yeah, it's definitely a nice proportion, not too kiddy. I'm not a big fan of dolls that look too childish, SOOM's little gems are the youngest looking I'll go, and that's mostly because I adore their fantasy stuff. I also like aesthetics of the Type II body, makes a nice shorter character compared to some of my other dolls.

Yeah, I don't love childish dolls either! So if they look young they need to be at least not too childish.
The body is very nice! I like it a lot

 

I definitely prefer more mature msd. I like a degree of cartoonish "doll" ness to them over very realistic but I do prefer them to look like stylised adults or teens rather than the traditional msd child look.

Louis is cute, I was tempted but I wanted to see his open mouth in owner pics first. Open mouth sculpts intimidate me a bit when it comes to painting lol.

I've decided i'm gonna hold off on buying bodies for the floating heads till i can test them on the DS bodies. I want to be certain they'll work for what I am after you know? I don't like buying things blind.

Clover Singing said about 5 month wait is normal for them right now. Which at least is better than the close to 10 months i've been waiting on my doll chateau girl and the similar length of time I waited on my Dream valley.

 

I totally get you! I like too more mature dolls, it’s fine if they are grown teens but not so much if they look like childrens.

i will for sure post pics when I het him! I admit I am scared about the open mouth too, but whatever, it’s just slightly opened so it should be fine. I’ll see too when I het him.

 

I’ve been eyeballing Ben and Louis since they were released and ultimately decided on Ben - I ordered him just now. I’m actually shelling him as a pre-existing character who’s called Benedict, funnily enough!

I ended up "impulse" buying a secondhand Yoko off a facebook group too now lol. But technically it's not THAT much of an impulse given she was on my wishlist and I was tempted to order her from Clover Singing anyway.
just means I don't have to wait.

It'll hopefully tide me over while I wait for my three boys anyway.

I'm slowly working through my backlog. So while I wait (CS said it was about 5 months) I can hopefully get together two outfits for my last two undressed dolls here, repaint my Gem girl and clear some shelf space for the circus crew so when the DS dolls come they'll have somewhere to hang out.

 

My Doll Leaves Jeremy is in the mail. ;w; I also got a cool outfit, shoes, and wig for him. For some reason, I'm really nervous now, lol.

 

Yoko's here! She was shipped unstrung (secondhand) and WOW the type 2 bodies are awkward to restring. The lower body is like the AE bodies where it's solid resin with narrow channels drilled in which makes threading the elastic down to the legs rather awkward.

Her hand engineering is pretty rubbish, the large ball joint makes her have no decent wrist articulation. The rest is impressive though, especially for the price.
I might see if I have any spare hands that I could swap out for her.

 

Oh wait, where are you all seeing black pictures of Louis? I've looked everywhere for him!

My NS doll leaves Teresa just got shipped! I ordered her in start of April so it took 5 and a half month. I ordered her mostly for a floating head I have but if that head doesn't match I might keep her as is. Can't wait till she arrives.

 

wow 5 and a half months is a bit of a wait isn't it?
I hope i'm not gonna end up waiting that long but who really knows? i DID order 3 dolls so honestly? a long wait is probably inevitable.

Cloversinging told me Doll Leaves just finished the march order, so the timing matches! Guess I’ll see my Louis next year in january/february

I suppose it gives me time to finish dolls I have here and save up for clothes and eyes and stuff.

 

i'm so much later because of the tattoo face up i guess... i ordered in early December last year, they said won't be done til Oct-Nov. but that's ok as long as they take their time and do a nice job on the tattoo

 

I'm pretty worried about my Berg fullset ever arriving. I ordered from DDE in October of last year - so almost a full year! - and they said then that the wait time was 6-9 months. With what's been going on in the world, I figured it would be a longer wait, but reading here the dolls seem to have been coming within the estimated wait time, and even people who ordered their dolls far later than I have been getting them. And even if there was a delay a year is a bit much. I'll have to email DDE...hopefully Berg will be coming soon...or even coming at all.

 

Yah do try to ask them! I understand a fullset can take more than a blank doll, but 1 year is a little too much since the orders made this year are reaching the buyers already. Even cause if they produce dolls based on the order time, yours should have been finished long ago if they had time to send newer orders of march 2020.

 

Totally forgot to reply to this thread; I emailed DDE, and they said that there were still a few orders from October/November of last year that hadn't arrived yet. They have another shipment from Doll Leaves coming in 4-6 weeks, and they promised to email Doll Leaves and make sure my Berg is in that next shipment. So hopefully not too much longer!

Saw someone on instagram got their Louis already! they ordered in er... May? I think?
So looks like my estimate of dec/jan isn't far off.

Problem is, i'm ITCHING for a new dolly already. This always happens. Anything over about 3-4 months and I start getting this massive itch for dolls to tide me over. It leads to dangerous impulse spending.
only thing stopping me right now is that I literally have no money lol.

i heard mine is still at the painter. between covid and very wet weather, i'm not too surprised.... but i'm excited to see him, hopefully soon... fingers crossed

 

I imagine you won't have to wait so long. Many people have gotten their dolls that they ordered later than I did. I think it's just a delay that they had because of covid - they most likely had to stop production for some time. I will say that I think it's very poor business practice to be taking and sending out new orders before they finish all their older ones, though. But it might be possible that they lost my order in the covid chaos and only restarted it once DDE emailed them.

 

Ooh a blank Louis! His sculpt is definitely interesting but I don't think I regret going for Ben, hopefully we'll get some pics of him soon.

i'm still not sure if i'll end up sanding some of Ben's big ol' pointy chin. I'll have to see how jarring it is when he arrives lol. His sculpt really reminds me of something from DC more than DL.
