Surprise box from Doll Leaves Back in April, Doll Leaves was running an event where they released their sculpt Pearl in a new tan resin color. I did some back of the envelope math with my birthday money and realized that if I did a layaway for her and the other doll I wanted to buy i could -just- afford them both. Alice's Collections was willing to do a three-payment layaway on a limited doll. I think it helped that two payments were going to be inside the special order period. Shes beautiful! Does this tan from doll leaves have the same marbling problem aspen tan did or is it even? It's a beautiful color!
The resin color is really well distributed throughout. The doll's seams are sanded and the sanded spots are close enough in color that they don't show. I'm really happy with her : ) Mixing natural-looking warm tans with regular art supplies is already tricky. Mixing with resins seems much harder. Her cool-toned light brown/tan looks really nice : ) Thank you! I was thinking it would be a while longer, so really pleasant surprise.
I don't remember ever seeing a tan Doll Leaves before-- it's really nice, soft and natural looking. Cute sculpt too-- I like her ears!
So cute! She was a summer event offer. I'm not 100% percent sure but I think they are offering some special order resin colors now.
