40–49cm Dolls Doll Leaves Oscar joins the family!

I recently got a DDE digital gift card for my birthday, and it was kind of burning a hole in my pocket as they say! I really wanted to get a Doll Leaves doll, they have such beautiful sculpts and I've loved their designs since they first began releasing dolls. Oscar is one of their boys that doesn't come with a fantasy faceup, which is perfect for my collection! As always DDE shipped fast, but UPS on the other hand had him sitting around some depot somewhere in my city for a full day and THEN Sunday before they actually put him on a truck.

And then when he got here, his box had been pretty roughed up.... I've seen worse, of course, but this is the most roughed-up I've had a box show up in a while.

BUT THEN I LOOKED AT THE SIDE, HOLY MOLY it's like he sat around getting punched! This is what really had me worried... luckily he was completely fine.

I try not to look at my dolls too closely until I get their heads unwrapped to get an accurate first impression, but omg this boy is striking and BEAUTIFUL, so wonderfully painted!

I wish DS did more faceups like this, or had a "default faceup or fancy faceup" option, y'know? I will say he's not as smirky/mischievous looking as he is in his promo photos, which I was hoping for as I prefer smiley dolls, but he's still a handsome lil boy

I got two wigs with him to try, this one is very similar to his company photos but I didn't care for how it looked... maybe with some styling?

These jeans are slightly too big for him, but so is the hoodie, so I just tucked the hoodie back into the back of the pants and it looks pretty good! Cozy and oversized but not drowning it it.

I'm so happy with him, he's so cute! I'm still deciding what I want to name him, maybe Mitchell? I think he wants an M name, but so far nothing has really clicked. Who knows, I may change my mind completely. I'm not very worried about it, but I guess he can be Mitchell for now at least!

Thanks for looking Oscar seems to be an uncommon sculpt, but he's cute and versatile!
