I thought I could share my boy Vivian too ! In my humble opinion it's a real heart melting sculpt. Such a pity that nowadays I rarely able to see other's Vivians.

 

Yayyy, finally got my new Vivian ws girl I got for Xmas finished as my sweet little ghost! Her name is Marietta and I'm in love with her, lol : D



I got the Royal head with her for the holiday event, and decided to do a hybrid with a mirodoll 1/4 body (pretty decent resin match actually) to be Ellonwye, my ancient and somewhat grumpy but loveable fairy girl. She still needs wings and shoes, but haven't found the right ones, yet...




I'm very happy with them!

hoooyaaaa~~ im so considering goin fishing for the sleeping Amara limited, i absolutely love her... and i already got a bigger grey skin boy from doll leaves, wich will be her big bro if i decide to get her :I hnnngh..what to do...ive been lookin at her since release >_>

Aww, I ordered a regular ws Amara for my friend for xmas and did a faceup for her, that is the cuuutest sculpt - I can only imagine how enchanting she is in gray skin - good luck!

 

My little male Vivian arrived at the end of the christmas holidays - he's adorable! (I also got a Wish head but the Vivian definitely owns this body)

Um I'd heard that the MSD boy fits Slim Mini clothes (and yea I've tried out some of my generic MSD stuff and it's way too big) but I'm really struggling to find stuff in the style I'm after - do any of the companies like Nine9 style etc. fit?

I hope it's okay that I ask this question here - I thought I'd try even though the thread doesn't seem that active.
how long does it typically take for a wheat skin doll leaves sculpt to ship? I ordered my doll seventeen weeks ago, and I'm just curious how long it took for your wheat skin dolls to arrive?

also, I'd love some tan doll spam if anyone has the time to share their dolls ♥

 

im no expert on this.. but may i ask where u bougth the dollie from? that migth be a reason its taking so long

I purchased him from Denver Doll Emporium.

 

well as far as im aware, denver dont send out orders until they have reached a certain quantity of dollies from each company(this is if i remember correctly)
So for all i know the wait migth be even longer.. i would send a msg to DDE and ask if they have sent in the order for the doll yet, if not u migth want to cancel it and order thro another page? thats what i would've done xD
but then again maybe DDE is the only one with the wheat skin option available or that certain doll? idk..

yes, I believe he can only be purchased through DDE as he's sold out on the Doll Leaves website.
I'd shoot them a message, but I would hate to bother them. I'm just a little excited for him to arrive home. Q u Q

aaah ic :3 well .. i dont own any doll leaves msd's yet ^^ but i do own a Doll leaves Andy in grey skin, and it only took me like.. a bit over a month to get him when i ordered thro acbjd, and im thinkin of ordering a sleeping Amara to be his sis ^^

that's such a short wait time; if ACBJD happens to carry any companies that I'd like to own a doll from in the future I'll be sure to place the order through them to see how things go.
I fully support you purchasing the Sleeping Amara, because she looks adorable.

you get one doll then you blink, and suddenly two more are sitting beside it
then you blink again to find that you now have ten dolls - or something like that, I'm sure.
when you do purchase her you should make sure to share her in this thread so everyone can see! c:

I opened my Royal girl's eyes a bit so her pretty flower eyes will show better. I was nervous but it was really easy with a flat tip xacto knife : D

Ive finally decided, ill get a sleeping Amara ^^ ill put her on a 1month layaway with acbjd so ill get her a bit after im done with paying her off i guess ^^
Since ive decided to get her i need some help of u all, i do got a doll leaves Andy(grey) and he will be her big bro.. so.. i would love a wig that got a color similar to his (he got the promo pics blue wig) do you guys know of any similar colored wigs (preferrably long ones) in the size 7-8?

Adding a bit of doll spam. I finally dared to glue eyelashes to my Vivian. I forgot why I had been delaying it until I had to get her head back on. (she's so tight I ended up knocking my nose two times while pulling from her hook :/) Maybe this is totally normal with doll heads, but she's my only doll head that doesn't have a faceplate, she's strung tight, and its really hard to get the hook on its place while tugging.

I saw the newer dolls yesterday, and I'm already swooning over Pepper, her face is so sweet. I'm quite fond of Ida too, I really like how soft her expression is.

 

Hi, everyone! Thought I'd introduce myself since I've been a Doll Leaves fan for a while. My sister has a Wish, and I've always admired their posing skills. I actually just saw Ida today and I thought that I really needed to get her! So as soon as I get the money, I'll be ordering one. ;D

I know what Doll Leaves boys fit into, but do the girls fit into Minifee clothing as well? It'd make clothes shopping so much easier if they did.

BerryPeachy there is a msd thread for doll leaves ouo i dont think it will fit minifee... idk.. try comparing their measurements? I know they got the measurements on alice collection... try asking in the msd thread would probably get u some better answers ^^

LOL No problem! And yeah, I'll have to look a little more into the measurements of Minifee. I know they're both slim minis (at least I think?), but that's a pretty broad term.

 

Hi there everyone!
If it's not a problem, I would like ask a little help. I got my Vivian boy at the very beginning of September, I chose him over other doll because I read DS dolls posing skills are very well. Well, not mine.
He need a lot of support till he able to stand on his own but that's only the minor problem. His arms are what honestly killing my nerves, they can't hold any pose for long time. At least he sit perfectly, so I got that going for me, which is nice...
Any tip or advice?

Very intrigued by the new girls...I've had two (at different times) Maya's and love the feel and look of Doll Leaves sculpts and bodies; I'm feeling very tempted to start my collection back up again with Ida especially with the spring event... anyone else tempted to order?

We ordered a doll leaves body for a kid delf head since the bodies looked adorable...
annnd its been shipped from doll leaves, but trackinghasnt updated once. In almost a week. How lomg have you guys waited since it was shipped out from the company?

 

Tempted to get Ida * 0* but not sure about body

 

I also liked the Ida. It would be great to see herphotowithout a face-up.

 

Mine shipped out last week as well with no further tracking updates. My guess is customs is holding things up, but there's no knowing until it updates again. I think it's pretty normal for shipments from China to US to take a couple weeks? I could be wrong but I'm not worried yet.

 

BerryPeachy, my large-bust Amara fits into slim mini clothes, but pants tend to be just a tad short (like ankle pants), and tops a bit tight.

Thank you! Glad to know that the size will work for the most part. There's so much slim mini stuff everywhere (especially on Etsy), so it makes things so much easier.

Well, I got my Maya today! (Actually, post tried to deliver him yesterday, but I was taking pictures of my other doll in my room and didn't hear them come to the door so I had to pick him up at the post office this morning.)



I ordered him during the winter event so I got his face-up and an extra head as a gift. :3

How's life, Doll Leaves thread?

 

Some spam of the newest addition to my doll group. Apologies for the shoddy phone photo and lack of face-up! I think it's going to be at least another month until it's warm enough around here to do any painting.

He's supposed to be either an Angel or a Nephilim (not quite decided which yet) - but in the sinister "We Are Legion" vein of the old testament rather than the cuddly happy view we tend to have of such beings in modern mythology. (Heh it says a lot that both of my "kid" dolls so far are supernatural super beings of terrifying power...)

I've not yet decided on a name but I'm aiming for something suitably biblical!

[MENTION=62283]Vetinari[/MENTION] he is already looking great, I really like the outfit (and totally out of topic, but reading your signature I must ask...do you have a Havelock Vetinari doll? ...any pictures? it makes me really curious) Back to the doll, the somewhat solemn yet disenchanted look the sculpt has can work really well with that sort of chapter, can't wait to see him with a faceup

 

Thanks!! Yeah I really like the way the Vivian sculpt itself matches the character I had in mind, I just hope my face-up can match it... He just looks so melancholy/surly somehow I really hope I can capture that expression when the time comes. (The head is quite a bit smaller than almost every other bjd I've ever attempted to paint, and I'll be aping Dollzone's house style in this attempt since he'll need to match my Freddy-2 since they're going to be a bit of a duo.)

I've still not managed to settle on a name for him, I'm leaning towards old testament style names rather than modern varieties of biblical names, but I'm still none the wiser! He's not telling me, and I suspect his face-up will make all the difference in that respect.

(Hah yeah - I've got a Lord Vetinari and a Sam Vimes right now, but they're both WIPs... The face-ups and bodies are matched up, but outfits/wigs really aren't... Here's a link to a couple of photos from my flickr - if you're curious you can catch a few more relevant shots on there but they're still v.much WIPs and my flickr is a mess!! I'm in a bit of a quandary at the moment, my original intention for Sam was a very realistic headsculpt to match Havelock's hyper-realistic style, but then Myrretah's brilliant Cain sculpt appeared, and he was just too perfect a match to the Paul Kidby illustrations to be anyone else...)

Haha! Gods no, if I made Metatron he'd have to be an Alan Rickman MNM, and then headcanons would kick in so my Bowie MNM would have to be subverted into Lucifer Morningstar, and Morpheus, Daniel and Death would rock up, let alone Jay and Silent Bob... Aziraphale, Crowley and Adam would probably want a look in too... And Morpheus would need to be a hens-teeth-rare James Marsters MNM... I think I'll avoid that can of worms by keeping my Vivian a relatively minor member of the Heavenly Host!

I love the melancholy expressions of the older Doll Leaves MSD sculpts, I got a Wish head too since I took advantage of the winter event, and his expression is just perfect for a Sidhe character whose green home has been ruined by the modern world.

This is probably a weird question, but has anyone ever tried to mod the factory eyes? I hate how pointy they are and I wonder if that's the reason they do that weird disappearing-pupil thing. (I'm really glad I ordered a pair of eyes from AC; they look so much better. T.T)

 

I only have a Kira and they have partly lidded (looking down) eyes which I love. I do get what you mean about the slight pointyness at the corner on a lot of the sculpts. You could mod it (something I have not tried) or maybe try some different size eyes. Sometimes if you want a smaller iris but need a bigger eyeball to prevent gaps it is worth getting a custom pair made. I think some of the top of the iris should be hidden as it looks more realistic whereas if the whole iris shows they get that wide eyed startled look.

This was her first faceup, I wiped it today because it sort of failed (It ended up messy and the eyebrows were the wrong color, because I got sick (fever and dizziness) in the middle of it and was dumb enough to keep going). I'll start over soon and hopefully give her something more fitting
