Doll Leaves 26cm Discussion

Doll leaves have brought out two new 26cm dolls, Dan and Safa.

Personally I love the Dan sculpt and I can't wait to see the body. I'm actually saving up for him right now as he's included in the Christmas special from Doll Leaves, news thread here:

Dan is so stocky and chunky and ooh I wanna get my hands on him, lol! I love it! I'm excited to see the blank heads too. I've almost got the money now for the Xmas offer of 2 for 1 and I'm going to get two Dan's, one white and one NS. I'm actually bouncing in my seat with excitement! Wheeee!

ETA: Does anyone know how much shipping would be for two of them to the UK?

 

My husband says he'll loan me the remainder of the cash and we'll order Dan (x2) tonight!

Does anyone know what eye size they are?

I have the other measurements if you're interested:

Head Circa: 16.50CM
Neck Circa: 6CM
Shoulder Width: 8CM
Arm Length( to Wrist): 8.50CM
Breast Circa: 14CM
Waist Circa: 13CM
Hip Circa: 14.50CM
Leg length(to ankle): 11CM
Foot Length: 3.5CM

 

Yeah I thought maybe 14mm.

Five hours until my husband gets home and he can order the dolls for me, I'm getting so excited!

 

I'm going to do my own face up, one has to be a girl (sorry Dan) so I need a masculine face and a feminine face. Been drawing on a picture of the blank head for practice, hehe!

I have to send an email to Doll Leaves with the order, which I'm doing now and hopefully they can get back to me either today or tomorrow with the shipping cost. I've asked that they be put in one box if possible because it might keep the shipping costs down.

Hubby has the paypal account so I have to do it through him. He'll be home late tonight so maybe Doll Leaves can get back to me tonight but Hong Kong are 8 hours ahead of me so maybe it will be tomorrow but at least I can get the order in, even if I have to wait til tomorrow to get the money paid to them.

These guys will be my first full dolls! I have a D.Skull but no body for him so this is great for me. I'm so glad Doll Leaves could do this offer.

 

Awww poor Dan, I always think he looks very masculine. I've had a devil of a time trying to make him a girl on paper. I hope it'll be easier when I have him/her in my hands!

I was hoping that Safa was gonna be a vampy when I saw you'd put her in the news thread. Her eyes are too wide for my liking but she's ultra cute.

Ommagosh, a big THANK YOU to Doll Leaves! I noticed that the Dan body has boy parts but they're well hidden so I figured as one of mine will be a girl and they'll both be covered in that area it wouldn't matter because her extra bits wouldn't notice but Doll Leaves saw my posts on here and sent an email asking if I wanted the Safa body for the girl! OMG! I've just sent one back asking for the white body to be female but wow! How considerate of them!

I hate to diss my own country but you would never get service like that over here. I'm so impressed! It's such a great start to my doll collection, thank you! I feel warm and fuzzy inside. ^_^

 

Well the girl will be white skinned because she's an albino, she'll have pale make up and a long white mohair wig. I've set aside some money for some amazing eyes for both of them from Ersa Flora, in the metallic section of her shop (still need an eye size though). She has a set of silver eyes with a pink centre - for my albino girl. There's also a silver set with a yellow centre - for the boy. His make up will be dark, black short hair, dark lips etc. I must ask my hubby to scan in the drawings I've done. In my story they're little creatures to my soon to be ordered 75cm boy. They're like little vampire bats or something similar to that. They will be brother and sister.

I've ordered black irridescent fabric for him so it's dark but sparkles like rainbows. For her I've ordered white fabric with a slight golden sheen. All of my plans for my dolls include very expensive looking fabrics and trimmings, I'll spoil them rotten lol!

 

Hehe yeah kind of yin/yang I suppose. Her eyes are silver but they have pink in the middle of them so they're pinkish. His eyes are silver and yellowish. Hard to explain really haha!

I just got an email from Koko to say they're on their way! I'm sooo excited!

I finally got names for mine. As we've been collectively calling Dan and Dan "DanDan" I've decided that the boy will have that name. So I was looking for a girl name that was also a repeat of a single syllable. After looking around and coming up with nothing I realised that communication from Doll Leaves was from Koko and they seem to be such a lovely person. So my girl will be called "KoKo"!

Rastea I can't wait to see your lovely Dans as well. It sounds like a lovely twin story you have between them. I would be interested in the mod to their eyes. I like their dreamy eyes but I would still like to see what you're doing with them. I'm sure they will be beautiful!

I was just looking at the new Lili and Kiki dolls, arent they the cutest? I'm really excited that Doll Leaves are bringing more dolls out, I love dealing with them.

 

Koko is awesome! I hope more people buy from Doll Leaves. This sales event should alert more people to them (it worked for me!)

I love their little teeny angels too so I hope to buy more from them in the future.

 

My dolls are in the UK! Squeeee! Just checked tracking and they were released from customs earlier today so I should have them in the next couple of days I hope. ^_^

They are far more beautiful than the photo's on the website show you. Those stocky little bodies actually look very elegant. Unfortunately they are both very tightly strung (DanDan can't move his arm without his hand going off at an odd angle) but I can fix that with a small adjustment. KoKo is also tight but not as bad as DanDan. KoKo might work loose, gonna mess with her a little anyway coz she's such a darling! I don't know why she should be the one I keep messing with, maybe because of DanDan's stringing, but I go to her first every time. Weird that she has my heart more than DanDan as they are identical apart from the male/female body parts. I always thought that he would be the one I would go to, I tend to prefer male dolls.

The colouring isn't too far apart, even though DanDan is NS and KoKo is WS. Her colour is very creamy white but compared to my D.Skull she's almost got a tan! ^_^ DanDan is very pinkish in colouring. It was hard to get comparison pictures, especially as the lighting in my house at that time in the morning wasn't great for photography, but there is a picture of them side by side in the box opening thread which shows roughly the colour difference.

So if you're wondering about colours, their NS is pinkish and their white is creamy white but not really pale. If I can get better pictures later, when the light is better, I'll post them in here so you can see.

KoKo is white and on the left of the picture. DanDan is normal skin and on the right. For colour comparison a Jungatoy D.Skull is in the centre.



In this one remember their hand are crossed over, so DanDan is sitting on the right with his hand on the left and KoKo is sitting left with her hand on the right.

You could always get a Kiki and a smaller doll, you don't have to get another 26cm. There's DingDing, JiaJia, Ku.. the list goes on.

When I wrote to Koko and asked what size the eyes were I said I wanted to get some eyes so my dolls wouldn't be blind. Koko wrote back and said they would come with a set of eyes "so your babies won't be blind" lol! The eyes they sent with them are soo beautiful I actually feel awful for wanting to change them out! KoKo has the most lovely deep blue eyes, they look so pretty against her white skin. DanDan has beautiful shimmering brown eyes that look so sensual and inviting. Even though their eyes are half shut the colour really shines through. I'm actually going to hold off on changing their eyes out until I'm ready to do face ups. That way I can keep the pretty ones a while longer and then I can match the face to the new eyes when I get them. I'll be keeping the eyes for spares though, I really don't want to waste them.

 

Hmmm, dunno bout that. They have very broad chests they're not like the skinny bodies you normally get on 26cm dolls. If you look at 26cm dolls on Doll Leaves website and go to Parts you will see the body there and that will give you the measurements. My daughter has Barbies and I doubt that the clothes would fit DanDan & KoKo. Mine are naked for now because I have to make special costumes for them to fit my story but I have them tucked onto bed for now to keep warm as it's snowing here.



I hope they don't get too comfy in there, that's a chaise I made for a 75cm doll and the blanket I made too. I don't know when he'll be arriving (he's been ordered) but he'll probably want his things back when he arrives. ^_^

In post #396 you will see it in the "room" that I've created for my large doll. They are sleeping in there right now, no doubt getting up to mischief while I sleep.

ETA I noticed that my room looks different to that now, only a little. More furniture has been added so I snapped off a few quick shots while DanDan & KoKo were sleeping so there's a new post at the end of that thread with recent photo's.
