Just wanted to share a picture of my new Mic. He's so cute, even in his oversize clothes and wig! I have a wig for him on the way and I guess I'll have to make some clothes for him, since they are so darn hard to find! Maybe then I can figure out what his name is. But until then, here he is

 

That is one sculpt I don't see very often. Please spam more of him.

 

I definitely will, as soon as I get his wig that fits. I'm hoping it will be here this week.

 

Hey y'all. I have an Ovid waiting for me at MoC for me to pay off the order she came with so I guess I get to join y'all now? Still trying to decide what to do with her, I might mod her into a fairy, I keep seeing a fairy when I look at her company pics but that's still a "maybe" Nothing's set in stone yet.

 

I had to look up Ovid to see what it looks like. He is freakin adorable. I wish I seen him earlier u-u. Please spam him when he comes home equine.

I just got my Rialia (thank you, MissEmily). I have no clothes for him, no name yet & none of the wigs fit, but he wanted to share his welcome home photo with you anyway. He's a bit embarrassed by having to wear a too-big Ken doll shirt, Barbie sweatpants, and a girly wig. But for now, here he is with Hanna (Lutz brown-skin Hansel) and Lu (Volks Tanpopo):

This is Mousekin when I first got her, without a wig. Eyes are 12mm -- I'm considering switching to 14mm.

FayFL: You got a Rialia? I'm sad I never had a chance to order him. I wanted Sophia to have her brother. Since he have the same eye shape as Zae, do you have problems with his eyes not sitting properly?

I don't know about clothing, my girl only has one dress. But does anyone know where I could get 4/5 wigs in unnatural colors? My girl needs a wig.

 

My girl got new eyes today, and her wig should be here any day now. I've also decided to name her Honeymist. Sorry for the crappy dirty desk shot but it's been raining all day so I can't take her outside and my house isn't the best place for pictures.



Her wig arrived but it's too small. Help anyone? the wig I ordered for her was a 4/5. I've tried the 5/6 wig my yoSD wears on her and it's too big. So I don't know what to do about her hair now.

 

Hi, I've just paid for two of these gorgeous dolls - a Fay and Acorn. I'm really excited to be waiting for them. They have no face-ups though and I was wondering if anybody had pics of them with custom face-ups?

Thanks! I had to hunt around, but I've found a number of things that work for these dolls. Most of her wardrobe is Goodreau, from their 8 inch and Snappy Doll lines. Madame Alexander and Vogue 8 inch can work as well. Some Blythe clothes can fit, too. And there's always Etsy -- a search for lati yellow SP usually brings up some nice outfits.

 

So, I have a question about Mint before I plunge in and buy her. I think she is ADORABLE, But the pics on the Doll Leaves website seem to show the face color much darker than the body (arms and legs) look like BW skin.

Is the doll in the promo pics in BW skin instead of Natural skin?

Any info would help.

I own a Mint (I switched out the body to be a boy's, though) but the girl body and boy bodies are the same NS color as the head. It's just that the factory faceup version of Mint has a LOT of red blush (a bit too much in my thoughts) which causes one to think that the head is much darker than the body. They even blushed red the nose!! (I think it looks like Mint has a cold! :laughs It's really cute, but I think that's the cause of the discrepancy look.

I took some pictures of my Mint, Ringo, posing with random junk around my apartment. She's so much easier to pose than my first doll, I think she's just a delight! There are more pictures on my flickr. I just wish I had a real camera instead of my phone.

I should have my first tiny in a day or two. I fell in love with a second hand little Puppet. He's Doll Leaves V01 puppet. I really like how cute Fay is. I want to get one girl later.
Is it hard to find little boy clothes for this size? What about the shoes? Is it hard to find ones for the boys?
I hope that is not too many questions. All these dolls are so, so cute!!!

 

I have a Dolls Leaves Fay named Lyric. (I need to take some decent pictures of her; right now she has eyes in that are too large while I'm waiting for a set being made for her, and she looks very scary! ) I'm not having an easy time finding clothes for her. Lati Yellow clothes from Etsy have been hit or miss on whether or not they'll fit Lyric, alas. Has anyone tried Littlefee clothes on them? From the measurements they'd be big, but I'm wondering how they actually look on a Doll Leaves doll - just a little roomy, or way too large?

 

I think Littlefee clothing would be too big. When you are looking for Lati clothing, lok for Lati Yellow Special. The regular Lati Yellow don't fit very well. I found some Riley Kish stuff that fits on Ebay, some really cute stuff.

I didn't realize there was a difference between lati yellow and yellow special. Thanks for the heads up! Do the Riley Kish clothes fit well? There are lots on eBay for girl dolls, some might work for a boy too. I am having a custom commission pajamas made for Pip, since I haven't been able to find any clothes for him.

The top is actually just from Wal-Mart. It was I think for dolls called Sparkle Girls or something like that? They're pretty similar to Barbies. The pants are from the same brand but they were with a different outfit - I think they were supposed to be capris on the dolls they were made for, but they're long pants on Lyric.

I am so excited to have found this thread (know it's a little old, but still). Just ordered a tan Mint and hadn't come across too many photos of her....I'm twice as sure she'll be perfect for the character I'm wanting after seeing your beauties! Can't wait. Few more weeks....

 

Hey!!! This thread has been quiet for wayyy to long! I love my little 20cm boy. I'm excited for your tan Mint! I wonder if the bodies are still the same? I have no idea!

 

I will make sure I post lots of pictures. I'm still sort of new to BJDs in general, picked Mint since she was the closest I could find to my FFXIV Lalafell character's appearance - I haven't seen a tan one yet, but I think she will be perfect in that color. Agh! The waiting! >.>

The only frustration is that I don't sew (yet) and it's really, really hard to buy clothes for them.

 

Breathing a little life into this thread! Considering buying an Acorn or MInt fullset! I want a Lulu deer soooo badly and this is my excuse to get one of these cuties I have been eyeing for like...three years ;P I just haven't decided who yet! And I read somewhere in this thread that Blythe clothes fit? Can anyone reiterate for me? Thanks! Bonus points for pics of these two styled differently!

 

Some Barbie things kinda fit. I couldn't say about Blythe since I haven't tried. Acorn and Mint are so cute! It's tough to decide between them. There's a 20cm Doll Leaves photo thread somewhere......

I'm not sure about those sculpts but my puppet version 1 wears 12mm eyes and 5/6 wigs. Here's the Doll Leaves Database for some pics.

 

Oh, thanks again!! I am also happy to say I found a Canadian dealer of Doll Leaves who offers layaway and lower shipping costs, not to mention there would be no pesky customs fees, so I think I miiiight be doing this come January

 

Oy, I am SO bad....I never came back to post pics of my girl. RL has had me hopping last couple of months, and I am embarrassed to say she's still nekkid....but I LOVE her. She poses so beautifully, and is very well made...I couldn't be happier. I'm going to try and rustle up a pic of my gaming character I got her for....I am going to try and do her faceup and start sewing her clothing over the holidays when I have some time off work, and will get better pics...these are just on my cutting table, on the fly this morning.

 

This is my character - not the garments she'll wind up in, but gives you an idea. I need to get busy! I love this sculpt for the character...the face will be perfect. Going to need to pad her garments just slightly to make the lower body a wee bit plumper.

I meant to 'get back' way before this...I took a deep breath and bought some supplies and tried my first faceup...pretty happy with it as a first effort, actually! I need some not-cheap-halloween-leftover lashes and a little practice, but she at least has a face..I am still very much enamored with her and working on clothes...OMG those tiny hems are killing me >.<

When did DS offer tan on all their dolls? Tan Mint is adorable.

 

I don't know when they started, but there's the resin colors:

I absolutely love her in the tan color. I had to take a leap of faith and imagine her in tan, because I really didn't like the paler 'normal' version for what I wanted. Clothes are definitely an issue...I have been playing around with some vintage 'Ginny' doll patterns from the 50s...surprisingly close!

 

I knew they had colored resin before, usually with limited dolls. I will have to keep that in mind in the future. I love to have Acorn in wheat.
