Doll Leaves 20cm Dolls Discussion

Jun 15, 2010

1. My fay came in a couple of days ago!
I'm surprisingly pleased with her. She is so cheerful. : ) Did anyone have to take her hands off to put her dress on? I'm having problems with it haha and I'm too lazy to take her hands off.

2. I'm doing a 3 month layaway for Mint (along with a wig and eyes). :D I'm making it my goal to find and buy at least 3 outfits for her before she arrives. It's definitely not easy. There are a few blythe dresses I like, but I'm just not sure how they're going to fit. I'll have to wait til I get her before I buy any.

3. hellohappy - I got a little zuzudelf outfit which fit my Mint. She doesn't wear it much because I love the look in her fairy outfit I made for her.

4. Hey, guys just wanted to ask...do these dolls fit other standard yoSD clothing? Thinking of buying Mint, but am unsure of what she would wear.

5. Not really, they are quite a bit smaller around as well as shorter.

6. Hmm...are the any other dolls this size whose names I could use a tag of for an ebay or etsy search for clothes? Or am I stuck trying to make my own? Sorry for being so needy lol

7. Some zuzudelf stuff fits. Yosd skirts would be easy to take in. I'll try to take a pic with her in some yosd clothes so you can see.

Here she is in her zuzu outfit

8. Ogod she is too cute! And thank you so much for the help!

9. My Acorn (Celyn) will be going off for a faceup soon...also waiting for her dress and wig... this is just a temporary wig and dress....

10. Does anybody know if a Fay head can match a Fantasy Doll body?
If can, what skintone would likely match? I would love to buy a Fay as my first doll, but I don't know about her 20 cm body, because it's odd that way and I couldn't seem to find 20 cm clothing. Thanks, btw^^

EDIT : What about Bobobie/Resinsoul body? And Honey Delf body? Sorry if I ask too much question, I'll zip my mouth now:eusa_sile

11. SpiderRoll, your girl is lovely!

12. angelicbubble: I can't help you with a size comparison, but I can help you with a skin comparison! I have a tiny delf and my sister mas a msd bobobie. Would you like me to take a picture for you? (With my Fay, they all have normal skin)

angelicbubble: Thank you! I need to find some slimmer clothing for her..

13. I've only just discovered that these cuties exist. They have such sweet faces. 20cm dolls are pretty much my favourite size but I only have a lati yellow sp and an imda 2.2. Does anyone have a comparison pic with either of these two?

From the very quick look at measurements, it looks like these little ones are slightly chubbier with slightly bigger heads but I think they would still look right with Molly and Gertie (unlike my pocket fairy sugars who look like pinheads next to them!) It does look like they could share the same shoes as lati yellow sp and maybe some clothes (both my girls can wear some blythe clothes) so I won't feel too guilty at bringing one home!

I don't know if any of you have discovered hotdotzblythe on ebay but they have really nice fitting shoes - usually labelled for blythe or lati yellow but they are a much better fit on my SP girl. There are a couple of styles of MaryJane - they call them Alice's shoes. One has a low strap and the other has a higher strap which nicely hides the ankle joint. I think you can also get them with a higher lolita style sole. You do have to watch their site as they seem to offer them in short runs of different colours. Since she's off topic, here's two links to Molly wearing the two different styles.

Now I'm off to study your photos and find out more about these girls.

14. I have fallen in love with the little dolls. I bought a Fay(Mia) second hand local to me and I know have a second. My roommate has an Acorn. both my second Fay(Nia) and her Acorn(Lia) came on Friday. Yhey pose amazing. The wigs are temp for now. The new ones are a white skin and my other Fay is normal skin. I love these little girls
[IMG][/IMG]

15. My roommates Acorn Lia is also a cello player. the cello was meant to be a viloin for her Sd but this little one claimed it first.
[IMG][/IMG]

16. My gorgeous girl, Celyn, with her face-up. She got new eyes too

17. In terms of clothing - Blythe seem to fit OK, the dress for my Celyn is one for Blythe.

18. I have Fay and eventually will share a photo of her. I wanted to compliment everyone's little ones here. Love those Acorn kids to pieces. :)

19. I'm so excited! I just ordered a Mint. C: I'm hoping I'll have something she can wear (I have some Barbie and Obitsu clothing, so we'll see how that works out!). I need to figure out a wig for her- I don't have anything in her size!

20. Hi all! I'm so glad I found this thread. :)
I just put a Fay on a four month layaway over at Mint on Card. She will be my first bjd. Thanks for all the tips on fitting her for eyes and clothing!

21. I finally gave my little Mint a faceup today! I ordered her from MoC like...forever ago, on layaway. I've already had her for close to two months, the weather would just NOT cooperate with me on my days off, always raining or humid. D: But finally, today was the day.

Luckily enough, I also just got a new camera!

For those wondering, she's wearing a blythe dress and a monique wig. Oh, and no, those aren't the eyes that came with, I ordered them separately from doll leaves.

She stands decently on hard surfaces, only took a few seconds of futzing to get her to stand!

I love her so much :...(:aheartbea

22. Your Mint is a cutie! She looks really good with the blonde wig.

23. Thanks ^^ After finishing her up, I'm interested in more Doll Leaves dolls now! I'm sure you'll love your Fay.

24. After adopting one of Katie Haven's Fay girls (who will become a wild fey after I faceup her in tribal paint) I decided I wanted one of the fullset Fay girls.

She turned out being a fourth of July surprise so she's been watching TV and me working on a Photoshop midterm project using some of the Crew as models.

Here is my new tiny girl, NutmegNell (a NS Fay fullset), who may look sweet but as the spawn of a household sprite and house gremlin she is two handfuls of mischief. .

I like to name my tinies with food names but as I was driving home right before the box arrived the name "Nell" came into my head. I searched the net for food names with nell in it but nothing. Then I came across nutmeg and I knew she claimed both names.

What a great poser! She needs a little bit of tightening, though, but still poses well. She can stand on her own, just wearing the little lace footie shoes from the fullset.

I'm glad to read some clothing options for her. She's very picky, though - no pants and only dresses. This will make it different as Moxie Girlz have lots of trouser-clad dolls. I am searching for some SP Lati Yellow clothes for her, too.

25. How does Puki size clothing fit on these dolls? Too small?

A friend picked up some cute shirts made by a girl at a con out of MLP fabric. She's offered to pick some up for me if I'm interested, but she mentioned the only sizes the seller offered were Puki and MSD. I know very little about doll clothes, but I know MSD would be waay to big!

26. I've been sorely remiss by not sharing my DS Mint, Mousekin, here:
IMG_4991 par Lynn Yates, on ipernity

I came across her while trolling Ebay one night ( dangerous habit) and was just overcome by her situation; being sold by her second owner, not even a wig to her name....:( I managed to snatch her up for a song. Her cute face and wonderful posing just amazed me; so now she has a forever home. :love

27. I am in love with this little Mint boy. He is done just perfect. I could just stick him in my pocket and take him home. Just too cute!

28. Your mint is adorable! I think I need to look into these dolls a little further

29. Oh mouse! That's so sad!

I'm sure she's glad to be in a new home with an owner who will give her all the attention and goodies that she deserves, lol. :)

30. she is so CUTE! Congratulations

31. Thanks, y'all. Mousekin is much loved and seriously spoiled now. I've been thinking of getting another of these little ones; Doll Leaves' Summer event is not making it easy to avoid the temptation. :sweat

32. I'm really excited because I ordered a Fay fullset a few minutes ago. It's going to be hard waiting for this one!

33. Congratulations! I want to try to get Fay myself while the event is still active...

34. Thank you. There's still plenty of time to get one,I hope you do!

35. The event is tempting, but I think I placed my order too early with MoC to get in on it. Oh well. I'll have to be more patient next time. :sweat

36. I think we need a little Zae love in this thread.

37. Adorable Zae, Sweet Melodies.:) Such a cute sculpt, wish that DS hadn't discontinued her.

38. I know right. I was lucky to order her in time before they discontinued her. I hope in the future they would release more dolls in this size.

39. This has probably already been covered, but does anyone know if YOSD clothing fits these girls? I feel like it must be close since they're 26cm, and DL are 20cm. I could be wrong though... :\

40. By comparing a 26cm doll next to my 20cm DS doll, Yosd clothes will be too big from them.

41. Ok. Thanks for the quick response. :)

42. hellohappy -- your Mint is sooo cute!
All the little darlings posted on here are super.
I took my Fay on a shopping trip with me to our Good Will Thrift Store {the GW Boutique} :chibi ~ She made lots of friends, and has a good eye for bargains. ^^ ... Her hair got a bit tussled by the end, and she went without shoes because I was afraid we might lose them during some hurried posing.

fROM THe real photograph in the store, to our imaginations...

[IMG][IMG]
She is named for my mother, Fay Iris.

edit, whoa! If this size is overwhelming, let me know & I will adjust it.

43. Aww. She looks like she is having fun.

I'm currently designing Sophia's nightgown.

44. Yes - that's a great photo DaughterOfEden

45. I'm getting impatient for my Fay. :( Hopefully only another month. I can already tell she's going to be very spoiled (eyes, two outfits, a pair of shoes, and I just ordered a wig for her) on top of the full set I ordered her with.

Anyone willing to share some more photos of the dolls with me to ease my impatience? :aheartbea

46. Oh, sure! Last year at Octopodicon, Mousekin found a stuffed toy Totoro that matched her fairy outfit, so of course I had to buy it for her:

47. Mousekin is super cute! She sure looks happy with her Totoro. :)

Odd, and newbie-ish question:
Why is this line referred to as DS sometimes? I noticed it on the wiki for Doll Leaves as well.

48. I think it's to distinguish it from Doll-Love, which is usually abbreviated DL ( although I could be wrong ).

49. My teenage doll from Doll Leaves has a DS engraved stamp at the back of her head cap. That might be the reason why we use the acronym DS for Doll Leaves in this hobby.

50. This one is for MoonHawke -- a little Fay spam... [IMG]

also, hellohappy -- I really love your Mint.

51. Took Sophia out to the river today.

52. I can hardly wait till I receive my shipping order from Doll leaves.
I ordered a full set Acorn and a nude Doll Fay.
Want my baby's home soon. :}

53. Exciting! I'm waiting on my full set Fay. Hope our MoC order gets found soon.

54. Hope so too as that sounds like a nasty mess. :{
Even my mom was all 'How can you lose something like that'. :}

55. Oh I just opened my Rialia, and found this :( Is this normal? The magnet is poking up through the resin...

56. I love everyones photos of Mint. Before I started with bjds, I had collected Riley from Kish and a bunch of clothes and props.
She is a 7 1/2in doll. I was thinking that maybe some of that stuff may work on these dolls even if they are taller. I have some cute jackets, sweaters etc. I know Mint has a much larger head and can probably wear some of my pukifee 5/6 wigs. Would anyone know a doll (or Mint) that would work with some of Riley stuff?

57. Hm. It might be possible. I admit I'm not familiar with the Kish dolls ( never hand an interest in dolls until I discovered bjds ) but I have put Mousekin in a Madame Alexander dress, which fit a bit short but pretty well otherwise:
IMG_5119 par Lynn Yates, on ipernity

Some of the Kish clothing may fit, some may be too big or too short. Finding clothes for these dolls is an adventure in its self! Anything for dolls in the 8 inch/20cm height range, or close to it, is worth a try.:)

58. Foxkin wishing everyone on this thread a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!
