I've been playing with the idea of making myself some urethane eyes and have been doing a bit of research in how to go about it. I've found some great tutorials to help me out. However, I would like to have my own eye cases. I know Luts, Dollmore and Leekeworld sell their own, but I'm looking more for a manufacturer type. I mean Everpurple, Mystic, Enchanted, etc. have to get there's from someone, but with all the searches I've done I can't find anything. Anyone have any clues as to where I can look? It would be greatly appreciated.
Thats a good question. Like you, I searched and came out empty handed, so I asked a friend of mine to look. She's kind of my go-to person if I want to find something online (honestly, she can find almost ANYTHING) And she reccamended looking for jewlery boxes. I found these: http://www.richstock0.com/products.asp?bigclassname=Plastic Jewelry Box http://www.qrbiz.com/product/756032/plastic-gift-box.html Here are some other things I found that might work: http://www.papermart.com/Product Pages/Product.aspx?GroupID=19037&ParentGroupID=18918 http://usbox.com/Boxes/Black-Regal-Collection/0LV-thumb/ http://usbox.com/Boxes/Jewelry I don't know exactly where companies like Enchanted doll eyes get their boxes from, but I hope that helps! Also, would mind terribly posting or messaging me the eye tutorials you've found?
Thanks for the links Elizern. I'd also thought about using jewelry boxes if I couldn't find the eye cases.
You can get plastic boxes pretty cheaply where you buy casting material and plexiglass. I get mine from the local boat-maintenance shop.
Oh god, they're sort of brandless... They look like this: http://www.smallplasticboxes.net/img/small plastic boxes (14).jpg They're so generic that they're pbb made by a lot of companies. (Iphones and roche chocolates are packaged in them, for example, and office supplies stores carry a variety of these for holding paper clips) I've seen people make these to-specification with acrylic sheets and a special smoothing acrylic glue. The store I go to, they have these boxes in a huge array of sizes. The cashier told me he used some of them as casings for casting his 1/32 figures.... So you listed as being in So-Cal... There's pbb a small network of shops for boat maintenance and movie props, right? If you go into a shop specializing in these things, they'll know.
