[Adopted] Doll-Chateau Youth Dolls

Darn! I was so looking forward to a male doll in this size as well. T^T

 

I'm almost glad they didn't do a boy. Saves me money!! I would have to buy one for my floating Kara Klum head. I might hold off on getting him a body now anyway...never know when they'll start throwing boys at us...

 

I am very, VERY excited! They just actually jumped onto my list. I'm already thinking of characters for them and everything. I fear that, at some point, I may just own all their dolls. They haven't released one I don't like, especially these.

And I hope there IS a boy coming. I am in LOVE with their boys after getting my Pierre together.

i absolutely love this size. theras looks a lot like my dollzone tintan, in the face sculpt.

if i loved theras' face a little more, i'd probably reshell my girl into her...but hm...i'm not sure i'm in love with either of these 2 girls faces.

i can't wait to see what else they'll come out with though.

 

So it looks like their hands are completely different from the "Adult" hands? I am having a hard time figuring that out.

I love the slightly shorter legs on the "Yonth" (haha, zomboid ), but I love the odd hands with crooked fingers on the "Adult" girls. I wonder if they'd let you switch?

I honestly couldn't see myself owning more than 3 or 4 dolls (small ones at that) and then I discover this company. They are freakish and tasteful at the same time. ARGH. Where has my money gone?

 

They might be able to swap heads with the DC Kids orphansparrow, they both have a 7cm neck and the head difference is only 1.3cm. I really love the Yonth () body, it is really similar to the Kids body.
And I know how you two feel Emmalise and Chibi_Fluffy, I have a Pierre incoming and am dreaming about a Olivia and one of the MSDs and now about a Yonth doll.

Perfect! What a great way to start out their Youth line! Verna is so elegant, her cute style paired with that body makes her the belle of the ball for certain. Thera, by far is my favorite personally though. That tomboyish face matched with the lithe body which screams vibrant youth to me is a pretty picture in black. As I don't actually collect girl dolls, I am trying to be patient waiting for the boys of this line, but seriously who are we kidding ourselves? Hurry up, we can't rush perfection, but we can darn well try!

They've got it spelled "Youth" on the website, so I'm guessing it's a typo, but in my email from Featherfall, they sent it through as "Yonth", too!

Am I the only one scared by these bodies? I could see one making a wonderful companion for the Jack Skellington I wanted but was never able to get ahold of, but otherwise...eep. And I have an Ark, so I didn't really think I was that easy to scare... ;-) Thera's face is cute, though, she reminds me a bit of my Domuya Sera, who I now have the urge to put a short blonde wig on and pose with black leather or PVC!

 

Oh my I'm so excited about these dolls...so glad they resemble the kid body!

 

I'm among those ones who will waiting the boy body in this size. I spent 3 days trying to figure the body for my new floating head and that's the body I am looking for. I will wait.

 

Wow - this body is lovely - might be perfect for my Dollstown Mini Elysia head... Same head size!

 

I think their hands and feets looks wierd, reminds me of the hands that their Hilary has. And the butt looks huges as well.
DC is my favorite company but I did'nt fall for these girls at all. : /

So lovely... Again. I really need to figure out a way to make at least one DC doll fit into my story XD. I was thinking of maybe getting an MSD to be the child version of Morgana, but now I(m thinking that maybe a teen version would be nice too...

Okay, I wanted something from Doll Chateau when I first heard of them, now I'm not getting away... >_> I really want a body from them and their Youth bodies are just remarkable. Love their long limbs and "wrong" anatomy, they're just too gorgeous.

 

I like the body but I don't LOVE it like I love the 68cm girls. I think the rib cage/chest is to wide. I like how slim the bigger girls are on top and widen to that pear shape. The hips aren't as exaggerated in this version. But it's still a body I'd consider getting for someone.

I hope they release some boys this size too. I want to see what they cone up with!

 

U _U I can't stop seeing Thera as a boy, i thought she was male when i first saw the news of these two. :< I'd love to get Thera on a boy body or mod her to male, but for now she's a bit too big for me...Perhaps someday though! ...far far far in the future OTL

 

I've been looking at both Thera and Vera and I really don't see any differences in the face sculpt. It's so hard to tell with both having face ups. Could somebody please help me out and tell me what differences you see in each head sculpt? Im starting to go blind now and everything is just blending :0)

Try looking at the blank faces on the Doll Chateau site (ie under the youth doll/ doll heads section). As far as I can see Verna has narrower eyes and curlier ears though they are very similar.

I agree. Verna has narrower eyes and curlier ears. She also seems to have a higher more narrow head and her lips seem to be more thinner too.

Thera's head seems more round to me with fuller lips.

 

I have to say, I'm completely in love with Verna! The timing is atrocious for me, though...we're riiiight on the verge of buying a house, so I can't justify the expense right now. D: She's definitely going to be my next dolly purchase! I have a Bella and adore her, so I'd love to make another DC doll my first SD.

 

I really want to see these girls side by side with the adult ladies. All I can think of is a Thera/Olivia couple.

I am so excited!! Twas waiting for the 58cm size from Doll Chateau for quite some time!! I really want Thera. And I actually really like the body, I feel like it could been a bit more mature, but it is still very lovely.

 

Oh my! I did it. I put in an order for LE Verna (hoping the LE is not sold-out). I saw her and melted; I had to have her. She will be my first SD sized doll!

 

I'd love to see one of these girls' heads on a DC Kid Boy Body! Thera would look awfully handsome, I imagine!

Man! I wish these bodies had come out a bit longer ago so someone had them already. Because I'm sitting here wondering if a Dollmore Kara Klum head would look ridiculous on the 60cm male body or not. That's the reason I was so hoping they'd release it and now I'm just sitting here OBSESSING over this combo! I'll probably end up just doing it and, if it fails, just getting the Ingemar head and Dollmore boy body later on. I already know the resin match will be a bit skewy but, I could almost deal if I could have him on the body I want.

Argh! And here I thought I would never have/want a hybrid. VampireAngel13, hopefully you will visit this thread again. You have a Kara Klum (and *cough*you're the reason I want one*cough*), how ridiculous do YOU think he'd look on this body?

What really makes him look bad on other bodies is the thickness of the body and especially the neck (dollmore is just so skinny with long thin necks). DC has such a long skinny neck, and Kara Klum's face takes up his whole head making it look bigger than it is, so I *think* it might work out.

Color is definitely going to be an issue....I have access to all three DC colors at home, and a brand new Miso head on the way from Dollmore, plus Dollmore resin from every year since 08, so I can get an idea of what will work the best...but I know it won't be perfect. Right now I don't care at all, since I'm in so much love with this body and fit is the #1 issue. I'm just waiting for DDE to put the bodies up for sale on their site so I can order, measurements be damned!!

uh, I really should go check out DC's head and body measurements, just in case XD
EDIT: So I compared DCs measurements to the (accurate and taken by me not Dollmore) measurements of the Adam body....DC is smaller everywhere but height, assuming they're correct, so I'm going for it!!

 

Haha! Really?! Oh man! Hopefully you won't think bad of me that I'm doing the same thing. I've seen enough threads around here that I can't help feeling like I'm stepping on your toes. Hopefully I'm not.

And, with how I'm obsessing, I'm pretty sure I'm just going to go for it next month, at least in regards to the body. According to MoC, who doesn't have these bodies up yet, but I checked one of the DC sale pages, their next order doesn't go in till May 17th. If I can at least put money down on a body, I may go for it (after your resin comparison, if that would be available), especially since DC is a smidge backed up on orders right now and I don't know when MoC will have their next order and I'm impatient. It's good news that he won't look freakish or something. I was hoping he wouldn't. And, of course, if he does, hopefully I can hide it artfully.

Also, in regards to Dollmore and DC matches, this hybrid makes me hopeful, though I don't know what resin color the body is.

 

You're totally not stepping on toes!! Besides, I love seeing dolls I own in other peoples hands (and I may be biased but there can never be too many Kara Klums).

I will always have misgivings about putting their heads on other bodies, but he was my first doll, and I have four >.< so I'm really used to them the way they are...The only thing that worries me is the shoulder width (Dollmore: 12, DC: 9.7)...but it's not an insane difference and so many different heads have looked good on other DC bodies that I'm excited to try it. I'm not crazy about him having such small hands either lol which is a me thing, but I can fix that with jointed ones.

I will definitely do a resin comparison if you want, but I'm waiting for Miso so I have brand new to add since not everyone has had their heads laying around for two years >.<
And wow that photo looks good! And looking above it, it seems that NY is darker than Volks which makes way too dark for DM (which I figured) so it will be NP for me. Or if I really want to do some blushing, WS XD (no no no lol)

DDE put the body up already....I'm so ordering this weekend! I know they're backed up like crazy atm but I likes my layaway (and I need to mod the head before the body gets here anyway), so I'm not waiting!

 

Hee! Thank you very much for assuring me. I know he'll look different and I figured I wouldn't be stepping on toes but I know how people can be. I just hate to make waves.

Looking at other head comparisons in that thread, ones I never thought could work, worked out fine so I'm feeling more and more confident that the headsize will work, despite the shoulder difference. And, from what I looked at, it looks like normal pink skin is the way to go, though I will probably have to blush him creatively to get it so it doesn't look very far off fromt he head. I was unaware that their yellow skin was that dark so that is a no go. And, when it comes to blushing, I would rather blush the face than the entire body so white skin is also a no. Like, just the thought of that freaks me out. LOL!

And thank you so so much for the future resin comparison, that will be very helpful. Especially since, unless I go hunting, my Kara Klum head will be brand new from the company. So any pics to help appease my apprehension will be great. As of now, he'll be my first actual hybrid and, for some reason, that is making me far nervous than it probably should.

Also, you mentioned modding. Is that for aesthetics or does he need to be modded to fit the body? Because I'd need to mentally prepare myself for that too. LOL!

EDIT: And thanks for letting me know that DDE already have them up. I may go through them to get the body, though I wish they'd put up an ordering timeframe like MoC. I hate not knowing when DDE places an order but I also hate hounding them.

 

Oh, I'm opening his mouth (at least, I will be attempting to do so)...so aesthetics only lol. I don't think there should be any modding necessary for fit, unless the neck is too thin, or too long. Too thin I can deal with without actual modding, too long will be some sanding of the neck....Depending on how it looks I might want to do that anyway, as I'd really like him to be 58cm like my others. 2cm is way more than I want to take off though, and I prefer long necks, so we'll see....

Lol don't fear the hybrid! I love them....my first hybridized head has been on 3 bodies (one of those twice) and only just got his "real" body this year after waiting for four. As annoying as that was, it was also kind of fun, like a puzzle (an insanely expensive puzzle), and since his current body is so perfect, all the torture of going through other ones was worth it.

I wish I could get one now!! This wait might kill me XD

 

I'm fairly certain I've fallen in love with Ingemar. Plus, his outfit is totally badass. I'm really liking Agnes' sweet mouse-like face, but the wings in the front are giving me pause, if they were on her back I think she would be on my "to get" list. Though, I could just pay more and get her head and body separate.

 

Ingemar made it onto my want list too. Anyone have any idea how to pronounce that?

Thank you Sam-I-Am and Cloudedmind for answering! I can definitely see that it's Hubery now. Both of the new boys are great, I just can't decide which I like better. I love the way Hubery looks blank, not so much with the face up they gave him. And Ingemar's oufit is just too Cool. Plus, Agnes' face is too cute! I adore the mouth and eyes on her sculpt. Sadly, I won't be able to order any of them anytime soon. No Monies..

 

Okay, cool! I was afraid I'd have to automatically mod his neck to fit or something. Now, I wouldn't mind if I CHOOSE to do it once I got them both home, but I didn't want to HAVE to do it. If the neck length bothers me at all, I may choose but, then again, he'll be the same height as the other boys in the band and I like that, so I may just leave him alone in that department.

As for hybriding, I'm mostly scared of this one because I thought it was going to never happen and, now that it's possible, since they've released the 60cm body, I'm just worried I can't pull it off as I see it in my head. I've actually wanted Kara Klum for a long while, I'm such a big fan of yours. But, I only wanted him on a DC sort of body. But, since he's a head for a 60cm body, I figured he'd look positively silly on the 70cm body. So, I let it go. Then DC released their girl youth body and it was 58cm tall and I just KNEW they would spring a 60cm boy body to go with it. But I tried not to get my hopes up, just in case. So, now that it's happened, I can't help but be excited and worried. Because, in my head, he looks fantastic. But, then again, I'm pretty much going into this blind.

It's making me kinda excited, though. :-x And I too wish I could get him now. DC's wait times have increased so I'm looking at a long wait. Though, to be honest, I have this feeling he'll be worth it.

Now to check on Dollmore's wait times.
