Where do yall get clothes for your DC bodies?? I'm having the most difficult time finding boy clothes for my Matthew

 

Does anyone have an idea what kind of body would work with a Lillian head? I find her super pretty, but I'm not the biggest fan of DC's overly thin bodies so I'd love to find an alternative.

 

With the discontinuation event, I think I'm going to snatch up an Evangeline head while I still can! I'm still planning on getting her default Y-04 body, but just out of curiosity, does anyone know what other bodies could possibly hybrid with the head? I know Dollzone's bodies are a done deal (being sister companies and all!), but what others could match with the resin/just complement it well? Thank you!

 

I wanted to order Laney on the Y-06 this summer. They said, the human version is not limited and I thought, I'd have enough time, since it is a new sculpt released on Dec 19th. That’s why I prioritized other dolls and I have 3 SDs, 2 MSDs an 3 floating heads coming in, all ordered in the last three months. Atm I can purchase the head only.

Maybe Dream Valley 1/3 girl body would work after its neck modification. DV white and normal resin colors are very close to DC ones. Also, DV girls have their head girth of 21 cm and DC girls - approximately 20 cm, and both companies' dolls have a same shoulder width; proportionally DC heads may fit to DV body. For me DV body sculpture seems very beautiful and natural, in contrast of their faces, so...
At this moment, I myself cannot decide, if I want to take Evangeline head or not. I liked her face and its expression for a long, but It's such a pain to hybrid DC. I'm still in the process of transferring my DC boy head to another body, and I must say: the neck slot is a real stone of stumbling . I'm not sure that I should underwrite for another DC hybrid.

 

Ohh, thank you so much, I'll definitely keep that in mind! I took a look at the DV body and YES, that long lanky torso would be perfect! My only concern is that it's 60cm, and the DC Y-04 body seems to stand considerably taller at 66cm, so the vertical height is a little worrying. >o< Still, I appreciate the suggestion very much!

 

I've been waiting on a DV girl body for a while and I'm hoping it gets to the dealer this month. I also ordered a DC Gladys head to put on it, so when my order gets here I can show what it looks like ^^
The size difference is mainly because of the elongated limbs on the Youth body, which are like 3 or 4cm long. I took the ones on mine out, so she's a bit shorter now. I can post a comparison when my Gladys comes in ^^

 

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I'm thinking the Dollzone 58cm girl body looks nice, but I find it hard to tell if they'd actually fit well together. And it seems to have a thinner neck than Lillian's standard body, which might be a problem. Is there anyone who has done a hybrid like that who can give some advice? I'd also love to see some pictures of Lillian in general to help make a decision-

 

Ahhh yes I know for a fact that I'd appreciate that tons! Oof, it would be those long, lanky limbs that make or break things. ;O Darn DC's beautiful stylistic bodies.... I adore the elongated look, but it makes things so hard when trying to figure out proper height/aesthetic for hybridizing! Pictures would definitely be a huge help, thank you!

 

I have a DC Snow Nymph on the Y-04 body with all the extensions removed, and honestly, I love her that way. She fits in SID jeans, and SD10 sweaters (though sleeves aRe a titch short)

I have the DZ 58cm girl body, my Snow Nymph did. not look bad on it. If you like I can show you that hybrid later!

 

That'd be amazing I find it really hard to imagine what hybrids might look like, so that'd be super helpful.

DC dont answer my emails , I have no idea what is the problem there.

I ordered Ingemar from Alice collection (it was in the list of dolls on preorder). Before I asked if there a possibility to make an order, and AC confirmed that I can order him. I placed an order on their website and paid fully amount, but next day they send me an apologize, that they cannot order him cuz it’s discontinued. No official announcement from DC concerning this issue.

if someone know about discontinuation of Ingemar, can you please tell me about it?

I finally finished my Gladys A...I love her! Her name is Pixel.

 

I got an email from ACBJD saying that my Lillian head is ready for shipping! I ordered in late March, so that's a lot earlier than I expected. Now that I'm thinking seriously about what to do for her aesthetics, I'm starting to realise that it's a bit of a challenge to find something that goes with her default faceup.The blue and pink pastels limit the options quite a bit.

I do want to stick with a white wig and a mostly white outfit for her, but I can't decide on an eyecolour. I came across some gold eyes with a black sclera and while white/gold/black is a great colour combination, I have a feeling it'd clash horribly with her faceup. I'm thinking light blue eyes, maybe? Although a part of me thinks it might be better to wait until I see her in person to decide.

 

Hay, New to this group. I got a Male Youth Body and I am looking for a more angular head and so far I have not had luck finding a good size to fit. Any recommendations? or Hybrids you have seen?

 

So I received my youth girl body with bone wings today.....but the wings were not assembled. Instead of elastic, it comes with wire? Does anyone know how to go about attaching them to the body? There is elastic in the little spheres on the back, but the elastic is so tight you cannot pull it. I thought that the wire might be a type of string-puller buuuuuuut, nope?

Also not sure why they gave me a billion little s-hooks....

I had the youth-06 body before this, but I think I prefer the DV body.

 

@Snow I saw in another thread an Evangeline head on a y-06 and I found it a bit disproportionate but it will still remain in my wishlist!

@Anshishoku - you probably already got info, but just in case you didn't or someone else is looking, this thread from BlackSheep really helped me with the 1/3 version of this wing set up: LINK

and near as i can tell the tiny S hooks are back up for the ones inside the wing that come pre-strung. I also got a little packet of them. i wish the magnets were a little stronger in a few places though.

@Grimalkin I found some photos on flickr. It's just that the string mine came with was WAY too tight and had no more stretch to pull it out and through the wings. I have to completely re-string it.

 

i wound up doing the separate elastic loop trick for just the wings, the body elastic was way too tight to work for me too.
it definitely was a challenge. probably easier with a helper
feeling lucky his box is big enough i can fold them around his shoulders and store him ok without the magnet pieces on.

 

Glad to know I was not the only one with an overly tight body. It was so tight I could not even put a head on her! I had to restring first thing.

 

Hey! Quick question for anyone who knows the answer; is the y-body-02 discontinued?? I can't find it available anywhere, but can't find any posts about it being discontinued either. Going off of that, does anyone know if DC is planning on releasing another male youth body? I loved the size and look of it compared to the kid or adult bodies, but right now the only youth bodies that seem to be available are the female ones.

 

Yeah, sadly the male body in the youth range has been discontinued… silently and without announcement some time ago. I sadly do not know if DC is intending to release a youth male body again, but it doesn’t look like it currently. If you need a shorter SD body (meaning under 70cm) I could recommend the DZ B60-005 which is roughly 62cm. If you like the slim proportions better and can deal with having a 70cm doll, Dream Valley has a nice slender 70cm boy body.

Oh no. So that's why I've had an impossible time finding him for sale at any dealers! That's so sad, I wish I could've had a chance to buy another one before they discontinued it. Especially with it being such a unique body, so skinny and lanky! I have the 70cm DV body, and that one is definitely lanky too, but still ten cm's taller :'<

 

It's my favourite body!! I really hope that they at some point release a new male youth body because the female one still exists

 

Hey! This thread have been quite silent, but I hope someone can help me. Where can I get shoes that would fit DС Christina (Y-body-03)? She's got a pair of old boots from her previous home, but they don't suit her summer look.

I believe my girl has the same body, at any rate I looked up the measurements. I believe at least some shoes for dollmore model girls should fit. Mine fits in the ones I have but they are all different kinds of boots from them. I was Going to also recommend if there are any doll supply dealers in your area (I just ordered from one in the us, which is convenient for me) you can find non bjd specific shoes and for bjds especially with large feet you might find something cute that is not expensive and fits. I got some cute sandals in my incoming order I'm looking forward to though those are probably too small for this body. But there were a lot of shoes at 9cm length to choose from. The place I was shopping bought out some Monique stock and had some other brands too.

 

@AlisonVonderland thank you, I'll look into dollmore model shoes & boots! I don't know anything about doll supply dealers here in EU, just moved here... Got a pair of SD-sized pants in a local toy store though, but not for this body.

@chrystal This thread seems kinda quiet now - while I do not plan to buy any new DC Youth dolls I have just received my second hand Christina.


She’s from 2019 - I’m wondering if anyone could advise if I should get her DC Peach or White body…Against white tulle she’s rather creamy and according to at least few threads on DoA DZ/DC white resin seems so be more creamy and warm rather than paper white.

She was kept in a box, no sun exposure or face up, so I’d say yellowing should be minimal…Trying to get her best color body possible!

 

@silmaryel she really looks like white resin to me. i have several DC from same year and they are creamy now as well, also in boxes in the dark no face up. the peach has a bit of frosty pink tone to it and a bit of shimmer for lack of a better description.

she's really pretty. i always love DC's sculpts blank, they have this ethereal quality.

@chrystal For now she’ll be blank - once I get a practice head and do some obviously failed face-ups I try'll to paint her. She’s just my third doll and previous two have company face-ups.

Since I am currently buying wigs, eyes and clothes, doing face-us is my opportunity to be creative in this hobby!

 

Thank you! I am really excited to have her. So I’ll most likely get her white body. I am not very fond of ghostly pale dolls, but she’s so pretty either way and this sculpt is a grail of mine.

She looks like a crossover between Tim Burton's Corpse Bride and some Dark Souls bosses! Not a fan of the styling or the Y-06 default body, but I really like her face sculpt. Heavy-lidded eyes and those high cheekbones! Looking at the head cicrumference, it is on the smaller side, [something between their MSD and older SD female sculpts] so I wonder if it would look bad on the Y-04 body.

 

Now that you mention it, she definitely DOES look like the Corpse Bride.

 

Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone has had any success with modding the Y-06 body and/or Evangeline’s head so they fit together? I’m considering parting with the Y-04 body my Evangeline came with and the Y-06 would suit my character better if I decide to keep the head.. I just want to make sure it’s possible!

 

Flora has a very pretty, gentle face. I think she would have tons of potential in all kinds of directions.
The way they have styled her seems a bit more than coincidentally similar to the corpse bride but what are you going to do I suppose...

 

I've seen hybrids in the past of Snow Nymph on the Y-06 body, which is similar to Evangeline. So I think it would work fine with little to no modding.

 

Under this link you can also see photos of Christina head on Y-06 body. You'd need to translate the post to check if they're mentioning any modding though

 

Thank you both! I don’t think I’ll be buying any more SD dolls, but have decided I can’t bring myself to part with my Evangeline head. Hopefully a change of body will give her a new lease of life .

 

I haven't gotten a new doll in quite a while, but Lafal is seriously tempting me. I'm not huge on centaurs and the fullset is very expensive (although it looks amazing, especially the wing), so I might just get the head and then try to find a body that works with the neck size. Does anyone have a doll in grey or moon white? I've been wanting a doll in grey skin for a while and maybe he'd be a good fit, but I'm really bad at imagining what the skin tone might look like on an actual doll.

 

I totally fell in love with Lafal when I found his page on Alice's Collections. I waited until almost the last minute to order him in case I talked myself out of it ( ) but I started a layaway for him on Tuesday. A few years ago I talked myself out of a limited MSD centaur from a different company and still regret not getting him, but I think Lafal will more than make up for it

 

I’m reviving this thread as I finally repainted Melody, my Snow Nymph, this week and I’m proud of how pretty she turned out!

Thank you so much! Hard to believe I’ve almost had her 10 years (I got her in 2015 as a wedding gift from my wife), I’m so glad I could breathe new life into her again.

 

ohh, DC has re-released Laney! She's amazing with the sculpted thigh joints, lower torso and wings That gives me hope my beloved Christina will be also available again at some point.
