so DraconicMaiden asked for a comparison photo with a minifee and I thought I'd share it here in case anyone else wants to see. Excuse that my minifee is still wearing her christmas jumper

Isabel is really gorgeous I've been eyeballing her but with the skeletal wings, maybe the next event they have. Her feet look so tiny what kind of shoes would she wear? I only have the Elizabeth so no shoes to have to put on her..lol

I have seen that Think Pink has shoes up on the site that I think are actually from DC - 5cm long, so should be for these girls and boys.

I have Isabel with the wings too (but not blushed) and I have to admit, they pose a lot more than I was expecting them too! Each 'finger' can move pretty well, but there isn't much friction to hold it, though I imagine some suede would help. Also the whole wing itself can swivel to an extent

i personally found that my girl posed better with the wings on

one thing for anyone who has/is getting a winged msd doll - check your s hook first! I know craftylama mentioned this, but I don't think DC carved the channels out enough! The s hooks were too large, and had to be re shaped first.

also, as sovriin will attest. The wings are evil. Once on, they are never coming off XD waaaaayyyyy too much hassal! Lol lol lol so rin has told me if I ever take them off, I need a new friend to get them back on.

getting the wings on was a pain, definitely need to make the bigger side of the s hook smaller.
He's very very snappy! I'm hoping he will be less so after a while.

I have a serious need for a Mathew now (which is no help at all b/c at this point almost all of the DC dolls are on my wishlist). I'm currently waiting on a Douglas and Colin and I have a body on layaway. Maybe after that...

I have a question about my Alberta... her head is much smoother than her body. I didn't know what to think since it was my first BJD but now that I got DZ Carter and he is smooth everywhere I am very confused!

It might be easier just to sand the neck hole larger. A modder would probably do it if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself.

I'm not really sure since my only DC doll is pretty smooth, and the head and body seem pretty much the same, but I do know resin can vary from batch to batch.

 

I've never done it, but maybe it would be worth a try. I'd like her in white and to put her on the kid 01 body. I didn't think of having a modern do it. Good idea!

Could anyone share your thoughts on the DC shoes that came with your fullset outfits? I'm thinking about getting four pairs but would like to find out if people like the quality of the shoes first. Oobie Doll has black boots available which I'm sure are beautifully made but they'd be quite a bit more money. Thanks!

 

Ohhh I hadn't realised that the 'fingers' stemming from the main arm of the wing were moveable. That's quite exciting I keep going back and forth as to whether I want to get Isabel, but I think this may just be the decider. Although, I may ask for a different head :P

 

Seeing that one picture of Matthew has solidified the fact that I do eventually need a Matthew. He is awesome! Isabel is pretty too, but I like Matthew better and I really only need one skeleton winged creature...right?

 

According to the measurements shown on Angelesque the K05 body has a neck size of 4.5cm (with the extra joint) so this would be a *almost* be a perfect fit, although you may need to double check this as the same body with the neck joint is shown as measuring 6cm on Doll Chateau's site?? I'm not sure if this helpful or not!!??

 

matthew is lovely...dammit. well, i guess my agatha head on centaur bod will need a caretaker...lol

 

Wow! All the Isabel and Matthews here are amazing looking *^* I am so excited for my Matthew to arrive but still...it will take months u v u; Did anyone buy the full set? I would like to know if you got stains after putting on the costume? :O

I think I saw a picture of a fullset Matthew on tumblr, he had the blonde wig which I assume is only for fullsets.

I have been longing after Isabel, too, but I saw my first sd-sized Doll Chateau in last week at meet up, and now I can't decide if Zenobia or Isabel woulf be nicer. xD Good thing I have no money to buy neither at the momnet...

 

I ordered the fullset, but I'm not expecting him soon. As soon as I get him I'll let you know. I, however, do plan on washing it before putting it on him. I recommend for everyone to wash their doll clothes before using them.

 

I also ordered him in a full set and then I saw a box opening here with Isabel's full set. The owner said and showed yellow stains on her after they put her fullset clothes ; O ; I hope Matthew clothes will not be the same BUT I will probably wash the clothes first anyway, don't want to take my chances >u<; thanks for the reply!

 

After much consideration I've decided to change up June's body. She's a D.I.M Marianne from '06 or '07(my first doll). Her lover came but her body is much more streamlined, subtle curves, smaller bust(her lover is an elfdoll twiggy yumi) and June looks to mature. I figure if at the end of the day the body comes and she doesn't fit it I can get a head and June will stay single.

As a side note...I love Elizabeth but my husband thinks she's ugly...to "progressive" for him. I'm thankful he's shown some interest in dolls...

 

Can anyone with an Isabel let us know which size eyes looks best? I feel like her eyes are small

These Isabels are killing me! So pretty! There's a head for sale on the Marketplace with a faceup by one of my favorite artists. It's taken every ounce of self control to keep from getting her. Someone else should so I don't!

 

My Req got her wings today! (excuse the terrible lighting but i was so excited i had to share anyway )

 

Can anyone guide me, I have the boy and girl with the bone wings and I assembled the wings but how do I attach them to the body. I am confused. I can find any information about it.

well, if it helps, I talked quite a bit on my box opening (it has "wings and poseing" in the title) about the wings, getting them on. I don't quite get what you mean by 'assembled' - mine came all together, with a small knuckle not attached.

in essence (I advise hemostats) you pull the elastic. From the holes in the body, pull it through the hole in the wing, and hook the knuckle on the other end. Let it go, and it should stay. Bear In mind that my s hooks on the knuckle had to be re shaped, as they were too large to pass through the channel.

.... I'm going to assume you are talking about Isabel and Mathew, as this is the kid discussion. Zenobia and keven, whose wings do need to be assembled, are adult and youth.

Just thought I'd pop in here as I just adopted a Hugh off the marketplace. I love dc bodies, but was wondering what is the best wig size to get? Does anyone else have a hugh?

Yay Thankyou. I'm soo used to minifees and they have smaller than 7/8 heads so I suppose their wig size would be too big then? I'll go for a 6/7. I love DC dolls. I especially love the older bodies like Hugh and Bella. Now I just have to find clothes that will fit him.

 

LadyDeath: What do you think of Hugh's posability (I assume you have the older body K-body 02) compared to the MNF's? I am a fan of Hugh myself but I am worried of the posability of the old body.

The body is lovely, he's a bit kicky but its getting better as he ages. He's not quite as poseable as a minifee but really quite good. He would probably benefit from sueding but I'm not too bothered tbh. He holds all the poses I put him in . I just love his little face so much !
