20–39cm Dolls Doll Chateau Dora

Dec 26, 2022

    1. I received Dora in November, after ordering her in June of this year. I bought her from Denver Doll Emporium as a blank doll with pink skin color, but she wasn't in stock - the wait was definitely not bad and I got her much quicker than expected.

Her box showed up in okay shape, and she was really well packed and totally fine.

The box also came with a nice booklet in English about the company and how the dolls are strung, and her certificate had a nice ID postcard.

Her face is very cute, I think the sculpt is really different than most of my other dolls.

Her antlers are nice, but the magnets were not attached to them, just set in place. There was a spot for the magnets in her head cap, but since they weren't glued into the antlers putting them on was very precarious - I will definitely have to glue magnets in both places.

She is really difficult to pose. Her back legs want to maintain an extreme bend and she is really kicky. I was able to get her standing but at sort of a weird angle. I think she is my most difficult centaur type doll as far as posing - hopefully I can wire her and reduce these issues.

Overall I really like her. She has a very voluptuous, feminine body and is really unique looking within my collection.

    2. She's pretty! I think DC definitely prioritise the look of a body over posability.
I don't have a DC doll with magnetic parts but I do have one with strung wings and attaching those after painting was quite a struggle. But so pretty.
Hope you'll post her when she's done, I'm sure she'll be lovely.

    3. Congratulations! Dora is such an adorable sculpt. She melts my heart.

Mine stands pretty decent, but one of her back legs likes to buckle under and take her down, so I understand about the posing.

Hopefully you will enjoy yours. It is nice to see another one of her.

    4. Awww she’s cute! I recall having similar issues with my DC Alberta centaur body (I ended up selling it actually because I had a hard time XD) but the centaur body definitely LOOKS CUTE <3 what face up are you planning?

    5. I will for sure post! And that’s good to keep in mind about Doll Chateau - so many beautiful dolls, but too bad if they’re more difficult to work with…

    6. Yes, her back legs are SO FOLDY they really want to be tucked under her. She is too cute to be that mad about though :XD:

    7. Oh man that’s a bummer to hear, I love the Alberta sculpt and have always wanted to find one.

I think the face up/body painting she came with was adorable, but I wasn’t able to get the full set version. I would like to do something similar though? She just looked so pretty, I hope I can achieve a similar result!

    8. I love the Alberta sculpt too! I still have her head and plan on eventually hybriding her, but I have occasionally regretted selling the body. All in all it was probably a good decision though.

I can’t wait to see what you do with your girl!
