I guess I will finally get to join this discussion thread properly. I've seen so many wonderful dolls here already and I'd like everyone to meet my Doll Chateau Olivia. I finally have her character together after she got back from faceup artist.

@phragmosis and @aernath thank you. Her character is highly plant influences so I thought a venus fly trap would sort of have this red eyed green hair vibe XD

 

Uhm, I just realise the Fergus head is actually meant for the youth body and is a bit smaller than the other adult heads (19.6 cm circumference instead of 21 something). The neck is a bit smaller (7.4 cm) than the neck of the 03 body (8.5 cm) too.
I think the neck won't be much of a problem to mod, I'm just worried the the head would look to tiny.
What do you think?

 

The 70cm body for Fergus is new and very gaunt. I'm sure you will come up with a great solution.

 

Has anyone here ordered an Adult DC in one of the new resin colours yet? I am planning to place an order for a Sexta in green tomorrow and I am beyond excited!

Oh the topic of hybrids, would a DC adult head fit onto a Souldoll vito body? Anyone got those two to mess with?

Soooo need to see some tans and some greens! *drool* green dolls are my weakness.

Has anyone gotten a doll in the new white resin? I just got the DZ Moon and it's not very white....very cream colored and I wanted to buy Evangeline but not if she's that yellow....

 

I ordered my boy
just not with the Fergus head but a Dolllzone Isaac one instead.
He is in pink skin but I should get the Lilith Unicorn in white skin.

 

I've got a few from the discontinued event in the new white and it is most definitely cream. I've also got a DC Agnes head in that new resin and again she's cream. So that's the new white, it'll yellow slowly, but it seems to start off looking yellow so I'm not sure how we're supposed to tell the difference in the longer term.

 

@beatnik Thanks. That'll end my love affair with Doll Chateau. What I loved most was their paper white resin. Glad I got four when I did.

Hello! Can I get some help from anyone who owns the A-body-03, or A-body-04, or any other iteration of this body?

I've skimmed and scanned, but I can't find any definitive pictures that illustrate exactly what I'm looking for... Can this body curl his knees to his chest? Can he hug his knees, and/or curl into a ball? If so, how well?

I'm seriously looking at this body, but not being able to bring his knees to his chest is a dealbreaker for me! I really hope he can, but I can't seem to find any examples of it.

I know @SteamWitch has one-- sorry to call you out directly, but Thaddeus is very memorable Input from anyone would be greatly appreciated, though!

Hey @Xila Thaddeus is ever up for a challenge so this was easy for him. He sat down and stayed like this when I let him go. His legs are wired but his thigh joints work well getting into this position and staying. His arms are only holding themselves in the position. I think it would be impossible to get into this position with tight pants but with loose pants or leggings, yes.

Well my order didn't go accordingly to plan last week, but it will be going ahead tomorrow for the A03 Sexta in the green resin. Carol at Angelesque sent a resin sample to me to help me decide and the green in person is stunning! It looks a lot darker in photographs, irl it's like a pale eggshell blue/green.

Here's a comparison picture between the new white (Dollzone, but obviously this will be the same WS for DC) and the green.

 

that green is gorgeous. One day i'll have the money for a spidertaur in that colour lol.

 

Oh, @SteamWitch ! Doesn't he look cute, all curled up? I'm glad to hear he can do that! Thank you very much for getting him to demonstrate.

Darn, though... That means I need to think, haha. I was almost hoping he wouldn't be able to, just so I wouldn't need to make any decisions! Hmm, hmm... My eventual plan is to make a 4-arm mod, and DC's long, spindly arms would be great for it, I think! Buuut, I'm currently waiting to recieve a different body, whoops.... We will see!

Those feet, though... I think I love those jointed toes more than I like the jointed fingers, hehe.

@beatnik - What a lovely color! And, it's interesting-- the new white resin looks pinker than it used to be, I think... It's very nice, though! I hope your order gets to you fast-- Sexta is so lovely

 

The new WS is a solid pale cream. I have no idea why it looks pink here? It could have just been light reflecting from a red beanbag and a pink throw!

 

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me asking a quick question, I was just wondering what the true measurement of the discontinued a-body-02 was from shoulder to shoulder? Mint on card says it's 13cm but doll chateau says it's 11cm so I would like to know what the true measurement is. Thank you!!

Do you guys know if you can remove these extra joints on wrists and ankles? I mean, just taking these joints off and stretching the inner elastic bands so the doll is still fully posable. I really like Doll Chateau creations, but Ijust can't with these extra joints

 

@Chincheta Yes, the extra joints are removable.

 

I feel Snowborn needs 4 feet like Amos (kid). His nose can probably be modded without too much trouble though I like it as it is.

EDIT: I just saw the bodies for the head. Dunno. Not keen.

 

You could probably buy a couple pair of feet and then swap them out with the hooves...?
I think he needs a waist joint. (human)

 

My goodness what a pointy nose! From some angles it almost looks normal, then a slightly different one and Bam! poke your eye out!
(also why doe he get pants and Lillian didn't?)

 

@Girrl LOL No kidding, which is to bad because other then his very pointy nose I like the overall look of his face. But the nose can probably be modded smaller.

 

@Cloudedmind super too bad! I'd be all over him (with DC faceup and body blushing) if not for the super stabby nose, but having to get him blank, get the nose modded then send him out for a custom faceup & body blush puts him above the price cut off for a doll I really like but isn't in the MIGHTY NEED category

 

He looks like a grown-up version of Dollzone Benjamin! DZ and DC are increasingly crossing over - DZ's new Wen and Jing have DC-style jointed hands...

Meanwhile, I sit here waaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiting for my Dolores. Please Dolores, come home already...

 

@Sigune I'm glad I'm not the only one that was thinking that! Personally I think his nose is very cute and adds to his charm. I was surprised that he didn't have a jointed neck like the other DC dolls, and super buff on top of that!

...I knew it was going to be a long wait, but I'm REALLY getting impatient for my Dolores now. *sigh* I'm just so curious about his jointed hands and jointed feet (also a bit nervous about them, to be honest - how are they strung? will I be able to handle them?), and I have never held a DC doll in my hands before... Meep. Some of the August orders are already coming in, but I guess I'm looking at the full six months. Ah well. I know he'll be worth it .

 

I quite like the extra joints and the jointed fingers and toes, though you have to check them digits twice when you take a photo, it's not that hard. The fingers and toes have s-hooks and the elastic is within the palm and foot connected to a resin hook within the wrist and ankle joint. they are tightly strung so you shouldn't have to mess with them. Just make sure you don't twist them up when moving them into position, try to keep the elastic straight because it will break or pull free.

I find it funny that when I first got into the hobby I found Doll Chateau's style of dolls originally too bizarre for me. Now I love them and want a DC Kevin so bad. I think him and Fergus are just precious and I wish I had the money to spend for both of them.

 

Yup. I liked them, but my friend didn't. I got a Hugh (mini) when he came out, and my friend kept calling him the Freaky Boy, or just Freak, so often that I finally just sold him. Eventually got Mephisto, and Stacy, and haven't seen my friend in over a year.

 

That's awful your friend did that, if it was mine I'd definitely be telling them they need to keep quiet cause it's my doll not theirs. I'm glad you got some new lovelies though.

 

question, since I have only admired DC dolls from afar for now...I'd like to get a Stacy head potentially, and use it for a boy character..but I'm kind of meh about the 1/3 boy body, and was wondering if the head might look okay on the A-body-04. The neck size is the same, so no worries there...it's just the slight height difference that concerns me. Stacy seems to be a 68cm doll, which isn't too much of a difference between 71cm, but I have dolls who are even just a few cm different from one another and it does make quite a difference. any help is appreciated ^^

 

I've recently gotten a DC Dolores body and will be getting a few other dolls from DC. But I am unsure of where to find clothes that will possibly fit them due to their unusual bodies. Does anyone have any recommendations for clothing?

but does anyone have a body 04/03? o: I really wanted my second doll to be a DC! But I don't know which one to get o)-< Can you remove the extra joint off the 03 and have it work just fine? Or is the neck on the 03 and 04 not interchangeable?

Also does DC do events/what kind of promo do they do? :0c are they worth waiting for?
Oh! And also, if you just buy a body, does it not come with a COA?

 

I have the 03 and yes you can remove the extra joints, you "may have to shorten the elastic" but probably not. I love the lean and lanky body, it is gorgeous.
They have seasonal event dolls, usually two to choose from. IMO some are very cute while others are just strange. So waiting might be worth it, it depends on whether the event dolls tickle your fancy, as they say.

I was really worried that it would! And it seemed like all of the promo photos they have were the 03 not 04 so I thought i would have to buy a head and body separately.

What do you mean by the seasonal event dolls though? Are they usually like little mini critter types or some kind of humanoid kind?

 

@BoneLace If you buy only the body it doesn't come with a CoA.
But if you buy only the head, it does come with a CoA. (At least from my experience)

I was tempted to get delores, no embossing! but then i also wanted the horns from mephisto ;u; But I dont know if the horns is just something that fits other DC heads or it's only for mephisto?

 

Usually they're some sort of humanoid creature..? You can actually see a lot of the past ones on their website under Limited. If it's small and weird it was probably an event doll, lol. I love them.

 

I don't have budget for this for quite a while, but has anyone put a non-doll chateau SD head on the Fergus body?

I would shorten the neck a hair, but i think the sloped set of the shoulders, and long angular-ness would be perfect for the ~look i was after with my ANS Shadow King head. But even though it's a smallish SD head, it's a few centimeters bigger than the Fergus head. Also don't know if the 9.2 cm neck opening would look gappy on an 8cm neck.

Actually, are there any owner pictures of the fergus body out there?

like i said, these are long term thoughts, but after spending 5 years with the image in mind for one kind of hybrid for this head and finding out it absolutely wouldn't work, I want to get my research in early this time

I did a bit of mixing and matching and put together a new outfit for my girl! A loose fitting style of clothing with an msd vest with sd pants did the trick
