Hello, everyone, apparently, my doll gained some dents from where his head rests when his head is tilted back. A doll hurting himself is a first for me. Is there a way to prevent this? I know sanding down the edges (his head, in this case) does, but I’m kind of scared, and *that will probably be my last resort, instead. Will Kips, Gaskets, Disks, or Hot Glue Sueding help? I’ve never used them before, since most of my dolls I’ve owned *before him were just MSDs (easier to control, so I don’t see the need to use them), *and the doll here is an SD. ;-; Edit: changed the Photos’ URL. Added an additional photo (4th) for further details.
Oh no! How weird, this hasn't ever happened to me. I wonder if this is a common problem with the doll brand. I think hot glue sueding would probably help the most because can add a few mm to the height of the head on the neck and stay in place. I like kips but they slip about for me, especially on the neck joint... But if you can use hot glue to raise the head up slightly I would think the back lip of the neck opening might not dig in. You will probably have to experiment.
I couldn’t agree more, this is definitely weird. ;-; The doll from the pictures is from Dika Doll (Valkyrie), and this have never happened to me before, as well. This is also the first doll I’ve bought from the company, so I’m not sure if it’s a common problem with the brand, or if it’s just the doll I owned that suffered from this. Also, thank you so much! Will definitely try both.
Not that I don't believe you mean what you say, but that doesn't quite look like his head caused it. I'd try and tilt the head back an see if it can even touch that far down the neck?
Hiii, his head can actually tilt pretty low on the back, even more so when you tilt his head side to side while already tilted down backwards (buutttt I don’t wanna risk tilting his head like that again in fear of further denting him), as what you can see here. It’s kind of impressive — at first — that his head when tilted back can almost reach the shoulder area. I added the red line to show where the dent mark, and his reach (straight) is. Hope this clears it up. Edit: deleted the first copy (without the direct reply), thank you for editing it. ^-^
