There's some new smiling dolls by Tonner available at VDC, if anyone is interested. Named Gwen & Zee, relatives of Ellowyne and Neema from the 1960's. Tonner's Gwen & Zee: Wilde and Friends Boutique — VDC
@Mu Shu: I hear ya, I've never cared for smiling dolls - it's the reason I don't like Ruby Red Fashion Friends. However, his first batch sold out so there is a market for them. I did get the red hair gal to have for my Tonner collection, I thought her 60's outfit was gorgeous (big fan of lavender) and she's wigged so I'll see how it goes!
Tonner "Grace" dolls (Sydney sculpt) go on sale at VDC - Friday, January 23, 2026 Comes with casual wear only. (Period dresses not included) Three New Grace Dolls Go on Sale — VDC
This is the new Tonner redhead smiling doll I bought, Gwen. I redressed her, and prefer her hair not pulled back.
She is really cute and has a sweet smile. But i can't imagine her between my older Ello and i don't have space for a solitary doll. It's the same with the UFDC Dolls. They look amazing, but they won't fit in with the rest.
@Brigitte: I hear ya, I thought that too, and also didn't buy the UFDC dolls. Turns out Gwen looks adorable next to Tonner Anne as a big sister She also looks nice next to the newer Ello faces.
I collect Tonner dolls! I have for a couple of decades. Mostly from Tonner's Wilde Imagination line, but some newer dolls too. Like VDC's Grace Fitzgerald & Anne. I have a Lacey too. I really enjoy VDC's subscription boxes. They're my monthly dose of happy. I haven't bought either grandmother though. I don't want to take up too much more space that should be for the BJD dolls I have planned. A few of my favorites, the dolls from one of the "Tea Party" Luncheons Wilde Imagination had years ago. Plus Ellowyne Languid, being rude and hiding Tea & Ennui Prudence behind her. I like how they look great in the 1/3 Our Generation or My Life As settings. 20260226_110437 by cabelle1863, on Flickr
@WAKelly: Beautiful dolls! I love to see the Ello's and other Tonner dolls. Thanks for sharing! I've spent so much money at VDC!! I don't do the subscriptions because I lack the room to collect monthy outfits though.
Wow! Such gorgeous dolls! I love hearing from long-time collectors! You guys have the best stories about the history of Tonner's dolls. I didn't know they did "teas".
