Dodgy eBay Listing: Selling Leeke Honey as Volks YoSD Sara

Aug 20, 2011

    1. Hi, just wanted to give a heads up to our new members who might not be aware...

      http://www.ebay.com/itm/Volks-Super...973?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d30020fa5

The seller is selling a Leeke Honey in a Volks YoSD Sara box, and seems to think it's a Volks YoSD Sara and has the doll priced accordingly.

A Leeke Honey is only worth about $200-$250, but a Volks Sara is considerably more valuable!!!

I've written her and politely pointed this out, but it may help her to hear from a few others. As a seller one can't know everything, and she's been around awhile and has a good record, so I really think she's just misinformed.

    2. She is actually a DoA member Mrs.Collins. I have purchased eyes from her before she is a very nice seller. I'll try and look her up on here and let her know she has the wrong doll listed.

I sent her a pm too on DoA. I am sure it will be taken care of I just hope someone didnt trick her into purchasing this doll thinking she was a Volks Sara.

    3. She sold someone a YoSD Nana in March, which is the same sculpt as the Sara, so I find it unlikely she purchased the Honey thinking it was a Sara. She's already familiar with the sculpt enough to be able to tell the difference.
She also bought a Leeke Honey off the MP here in December 2008.

    4. Ouch! That's an expensive trap to fall into. Did anyone send in a "report this listing"?

    5. I posted on her Facebook page post showing the auction link that it is misrepresented. Her Facebook is HERE.

    6. I did. I also spoke with someone I know who works at eBay about the auction.
I would love to think maybe she just was confused or was (sadly) scammed herself, but the fact that she's owned other 4 sisters yo-sd's and knowingly purchased a leeke honey off the mp here tells me she knows she is trying to pass one off as the other.

    7. Yikes, that is odd. I have purchased items from her store with no problems. The funny thing is I saw on Flickr both a yo-four sister and Honey together saying how they look like sisters. I hope this is just a mistake.

    8. The sculpts do look like sisters, however they are very obviously different. I've owned both at the same time and there is no way I could mistake one for the other.
Aside from the body differences, the face difference, the resin difference, and the differences in jointing, the lack of a headplate taking up the back of the head is a dead giveaway.

    9. I totally agree with you. I actually just purchased a yo-four sister and she arrived today. An adorable girl painted by Harang but hat is another story :)
I personally could not confuse them but I have seen others confuse dolls that were so obvious to me.
I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but I totally see how so much of this points in the wrong direction :( I hope she removes the auctions soon.

    10. She sells a lot of dolls. And I've seen her list Volks dolls before. How she can take a pic of the back of the head (no wig) and still call this a Volks doll is amazing to me.

    11. Mrscollins hasn't been online on DoA since May. She's been actively updating her facebook (where she's also been informed about the doll listing issue) and hasn't done anything. I don't think contacting her will do any good at this point.

    12. "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available."
I hope this doesn't mean someone bought it.

    13. I didn't note how long the listing had been up when I posted above, but it is Saturday... she may not be in front of her computer all the time, and not everyone has a smart phone ^^;;

Edit: Ah! Just saw CathyM's post. BTW love your red boy!! :-D

    14. My comment was really in regards to people sending pm's on DoA in an attempt to inform her about the auction; if she hasn't been on since May, she probably wouldn't be signing on DoA now and so a pm on here probably wasn't the fastest way to get in contact with her. The rest was merely to let people know that she has been informed through other websites. That's all. :)

    15. Thanks. He's fun. :)

    16. I didnt even notice how long it has been since she was on DoA :O So I pretty much wasted my time pming her lol nothing new there.
The listing has ended now so I "think" she must have pulled it. I wonder what is going on with Julie. Its a shame because she sold Masterpiece eyes and seemed like a reputable person.

I am editing this comment because I do not want anyone to think poorly of Julie. The issue with the listing has been resolved and my post about a possible issue was just speculation. I do not want to in any way defame Julie (mrscollins) in anyway. And she sells Eyeco not Masterpiece eyes, I just got the name wrong.

    17. She corrected and relisted. It now has the correct doll in the auction.

    18. She just responded to my pm, they had listed two dolls at the same time and just accidentally switched the dolls when the photos was taken. I am glad all is well :)

    19. I love how she even listed the Volks wig in the new one, where the old one it said sara comes with the monique one... I still don't think this is a case of "oops I photographed the wrong doll". There were way too many pictures comparing the Honey to the Sara on the box, and even captions about how pretty 'sara' is.

    20. I'm sorry but I don't believe this is the truth at all. She even went to the trouble of listing what Monique wig was included with the Honey. If it'd been a simple doll switch, she would've listed the default Volks wig as well, not the Monique.
Also if I was taking the pictures and, in shooting the 'from the back' shot, noticed a lack of headplate, I would've realized immediately that this was the wrong doll.

    21. Hello to all and thanks for contacting us on eBay, Facebook and here about the wrong photo showing in our Yo-Sd Sara ebay listing. We aren't daft or dodgey.. I think most of you know that for sure.

We are listing several dolls and had two of these outfits. We simply made an error in the photos of the original listing. This has now been corrected with new photos taken and changed out.

I do hope that no one has gone to lengths to create problems for us by some of the comments made here :(
Makes me very sad to think anyone would.

We have nearly 6000 clients worldwide and serve them happily on a daily basis.

No we have not been here in DoA in some time. There is no reason.. life gets in the way and time runs out on us :) Please refer to our 100% feedback of over 7000 on eBay and feedback here to know that we are honest and forthright (and do actually know the difference in our dolls :) )

Thanks so much for your kind support.

      Warm regards

    22. I'm happy to see you corrected the issue with your auction.
However I still fail to see how you could mistake one doll for the other (even in the same outfit) when it came time for the nude sales pictures.
To me, your inability to tell this difference while photographing the doll says that you do not, in fact, know the difference in your dolls.
So unless I'm wrong (which is always possible) you either A: do not, in fact, know the difference in your own dolls
or B: you intentionally used the wrong doll in those pictures.

Also as you listed the items for sale (monique wig, specifically) it is apparent you knew what was in the photographs you were posting. This also implies that you knew what doll was in those photographs. (If it had been the actual Sara, it would've been in the Volks wig, as per your corrected listing).

    23. Hi, it was ended to correct it.. Thanks again! And Leeke honey lives here in the studio and isn't looking for a new home ;)

    24. It was a genuine honest mistake. Leeke honey was already dressed in this outfit and not included in any sale. Sara was not. We have been in business a long time. We are honest and have been a dealer for many doll manufacturers. We have never had a problem with any sales.

I appreciate your comments and you looking out for your friends and others here. It is admirable.
We would never intentionally mis-list anything. I think most all that know us know this :)

Sorry we have not had the pleasure of doing business together in the past so that you would have
experienced us first hand and know our heart. But I take no offense. It actually makes me sad a bit.

Life can get in the way....Life has been full and a little rough on us at times over the past several years. It is the love and joy of dolls that provides the best therapy. It is an honor truly to work with the fantastic clients we enjoy. Warm regards to you and thank you again.

    25. Thanks again... we sell alot and because we sell so much internationally we stay pretty plugged in via all electronic means. Just for info to anyone interested, she was listed just today and corrected today. The listing had not been up for more than a few hours when we became aware and made correction. ;)

    26. Tsuki... we are an extensive Eyeco dealer and dealer for a number of other items as well. We never sold Masterpiece eyes....

    27. Oops, I meant Eyeco lol I dont even own a pair of Materpiece. I have no idea why I wrote that. I just put the pair I got from you in my Yo-Kira, they are perfect. I'll have to post a photo.

Again, I have always gotten great service from you, so I knew this had to be a mistake :)

    28. I honestly find it alarming that you couldn't tell you had the wrong doll when there was obviously no plate on the back of the head. And no torso joint. You've sold a lot of dolls over the years. I should think you'd know the difference.

    29. I don't think it serves any constructive purpose to badger her about her mistake at this point... no matter what you might believe privately.

The error has been fixed. Let's get on with our lives, okay?

    30. I wasn't "badgering". I was stating my opinion.

    31. Either way, it's not constructive to go on about it, right?? No one is in danger now. ^____^ Let's let it go. People are busy and make mistakes.

    32. Nicely said :)
