DoA's 6th Anniversary - IMPORTANT STUFF!

We're excited to get on to announcing our contests and giving the specific information, but we would like to make sure members have the opportunity to read some conduct and timing guidelines first. The most important parts are in bold for those who tend to skim.

Getting the un-fun stuff out of the way first...

Contests are open to all members who are in good standing who join on or before the date of the contest posting - June 25th, 2010. We apologize to any individuals who may join after that date but these are community events, intended for those who are already participating in the community.

The events are intended to be a good time for everyone, including the staff. The moderators are taking a zero-tolerance policy against poor sportmanship and general bad attitudes. Simply put, complainers will lose access to the Anniversary subforum and will be disqualified from contest participation.

If you have a question about a contest's rules, please ask prior to the close of submissions. We're human and do make errors, so we are happy to clarify rules or correct typographical errors. However, complaining after the fact (especially during/after the voting period) will be grounds for disqualification. We had some of this last year and it was a real downer to both the moderators and some of the winners.

If you should win a prize, please take a moment to PM a moderator to confirm receipt... and please remember to thank the company or individual who donated the prize! To our surprise and dismay, neither the forum staff nor contest sponsors received any communication from many of last year's winners. If people don't appreciate these events or prizes, we simply will not have them in the future.

On to the cheerful stuff!

This year we are having a total of 4 major contests:

• Almost Human (Doll Photography)
• Almost Doll (Human Photography)
• 2010 T-shirt Design (Drawing/Design)
• The Great Triathalon

We have a big first prize for each contest, but we are still accepting donations for runner-up prizes. If there are any companies, reps, artisans, or generally talented people who would like to provide gifts for runner-up prizes. We will give out every prize that we receive, either by grouping small donations into little "surprise bags" or giving more substantial gifts on their own. The descriptions for these contests will all be posted tomorrow, June 25th. We will post a new announcement at that time.
