Is it weird to sleep with your doll at night? Or do any of you even do it? Ever since I got my first doll exactly a week ago, he has been sleeping in my bed. Kind of like when I was a little kid, whenever I got a new stuffed animal, I cuddled with it before bed for a few weeks. Except I take a lot more precations with the doll sleeping in my bed. I know of some people like their dolls in close view while they go to bed but does anyone else like their doll in their own bed? Or am I just a crazy doll lady already... EDIT: I don't cuddle with the doll. He just sleeps in my bed. I take a lot of precautions with him. He sleeps on the opposite side of me full sized bed on his own little matress with his own little blanket. I know he doesn't get cold at night but it is so the sun isn't hitting him before I wake up in the morning. (copy-pasted from a past post of mine)
I toss and turn too my to even consider it. My girl generally sits on my printer, where I won't knock her down with flailing or pillows. The only thing's I'd worry about is oil transfer yellowing your doll quicker, and breaking little fingers and such if you move wrong. Also, nothing wrong with being a crazy doll lady all my non doll friends know my girl by name because I'm always doing stuff with her lol

My headboard has shelves, and most of my dolls sit there. I don't cuddle up to them like I would a stuffed animal or anything. (Which I often sleep with.) They're only a few inches behind my head, though. I like having them close. Them and my Predator figures. It rather creeps my husband out, tbh. Sure it's weird, but there's not anything wrong with that.
Who's gonna see you? Who's gonna judge you? I have my first doll's head on a soft plushie body so that I can cuddle him in bed. (it's his first body.) It looks like you've made a place for your doll on your bed. Do whatever it is that makes you happy when you play with your doll.
I have mine all spooning in a suitcase at the foot of my floor mattress, not one-hundred percent sure if that counts.
I'm all for doll cuddling! I've been sleeping with stuffed animals for years so I don't think it's weird. I definitely want to cuddle with my 48 cm Obitsu girl when I get her. I probably won't actually do it though, because I'd worry too much about breaking her because I sleep on a twin size mattress. If I had my old queen size, it'd be a different story!
I don't sleep with mine but I also don't think it's weird to do so. I think we all have these little people for our own reasons and if what we do with them brings us some pleasure and joy it's fine. This morning I sent my girl's head to the face-up artist, it was like losing a limb. I felt very strange coming out of the post office. I'm quite attached to the little monkey already and she's only lived with me for a week. Sleep well.....and enjoy
I would sleep with all my babies if I have a bed big enough. I did try to place a bed made for baby dolls beside my pillow, but then it's made me hard to sleep because my bed is too narrow I couldn't turn. Anyway They now have a wooden bunk bed to sleep on their own, and I sleep with my Azone Kikipop because she is less vulnerable to harm from me XD Just be careful not to hurt them and cause remorse, wanting to sleep with your dolls only means you love them very much, which is good because it implies that they will get good care and at least enough attention, these are all dolls want.
I usually don't because I'm too afraid I might accidentally damage them (single-sized bed) rolling on them during my sleep or something. However, sometimes I decide to watch TV with one of my dolls in my arm and sometimes, when I'm very tired, I'll just doze off for a while.
I think it is cute that he has his own little mattress and little blanket! It sounds like you and you doll are happy so keep it up! You already know to be careful so enjoy your arrangement. My husband would probably kick me and the doll out of bed if I wanted to sleep with one!
I don't think I could ever pull this off if I was married. I also wouldn't trust myself to do this if I moved a lot in my sleep. But I usually wake up in the same position I fell asleep in.
Nah it's not weird at all, but personally I wouldn't because I move around way too much in bed. I would roll right on top of her I'm sure lol I have to keep her in my closet because there's way too much light that comes into my apartment (which is amazing for me, not for dolls lol) I wish I could keep her at least on my nightstand, but I'm too scared of yellowing T_T
Urm no lol. They stay in the glass display cabinet. Plushies are softer for cuddling up to at bedtime, hee hee.
I have, but I don't regularly. There's just not room in bed for me, my husband AND the dolls! But he leaves for work at 4:30am, so occasionally, he'll stick one of the dolls in his place in the bed so I'm not lonely. XD I do also usually sleep with one of them if I'm traveling without hi (which is maybe once or twice a year), but they normally stay on the other side of the bed or on the pillow then. The rest of the time, they have their own room dioramas, so they're usually in their own beds or on the doll couch or chair.
Your dolls are your property and you can do with them as you wish. That being said, I don't keep them in my bed while I sleep because I fear breaking them accidentally, but I do leave some of them in my bed during the day.
Yay, someone who also sleeps with their dollie! I probably wont as much once some time goes by and I am planning on making my dolls their own rooms as well.
My dolls are currently kept on a shelf in the alcove, very close to my side of the bed, just near the headboard. I do not actually sleep with the dolls, but I do sleep beside them, so to speak. I can smell them and touch whenever I feel like, they are just a couple inches away.
i put my girl on my computer chair when i sleep though~ i'd never hug her to bed before because im afraid of damaging her accidentally
No I don't, but then I can't handle anything around me when I sleep, lately even a blanket feels like to much stuff around me!xD I don't really see a problem with it if you do though. They are your doll, so do what makes you happy, having them around makes you happy, and I think that's great! Even if I wasn't kicking off even my blanket, I don't think I would, just because I don't really feel the need to have them that close. I do like having them on my shelf though, makes me smile when I look that way in the morning! I'll be glad to have dolls out again once I save up for my new ones!
I don't because I move a lot in my sleep and usually my dogs join me in bed. However, whenever I'm traveling and I have a doll with me, I either sleep with my doll in my bed or I have them sit on the nightstand next to me for comfort I know people who think dolls are really creepy and that they could be haunted/possessed- if that's true, then I'd rather have them right next to me to either protect me or so I can make sure they don't do any funny business.
No, I toss and turn in my sleep a lot, and I'm sure she's be crushed and destroyed, and I'd end up waking up sore lol. She does hang out on the dresser right next to my bed in her own little chair, sort of keeping watch. And if I'm just hanging out in bed reading or something I'll cuddle with her I think it's cute you sleep with you doll! Especially since he has his own bed. Hope you two have sweet dreams ^ v ^
Awwww, thank you. I'm just really glad that I hardly move in my sleep. If not then this would be a lot harder.
I almost grabbed my resin babies the other night because I was having a really bad night and was gonna cuddle but I worried to much about hurting or losing them as they are all tinies (pukifee and smaller) but if one of them had been a larger size like the msd boy I've had my eye on I'm almost positive I would've.
My cat is the one who sleeps in my bed. She's soft, warm, and snuggley and can move out of the way if I flail around in my sleep my dolls are pokey and hard and easily broken.
I've never thought about sleeping with my dolls.. Well because I have a partner that will crush them ;-;.. But if you sleep with your dolls I think it's cute. If you want to you want to.
I don't personally plan to have them on the bed with me when I sleep at night, but I usually keep Tahmos on the side facing headboard of my bed (it runs along the long side instead of at the head, and has shelving for books and such). Before I moved He shifted from a place on the desk behind my bed, and sometimes on the bed when I was away. Thankfully, I have a cat that doesn't disturb him from his spot, but my feet when I'm sleeping at night...that's another matter altogether! I don't personally do it, but have no qualms with anybody else doing so. Your doll---your choice.
I don't think it's weird, but it's not my thing. I think it's a cute idea, though! I'd be too scared to damage the faceup.
Awww, how sweet!! It would never work for me though as my partner has to contend with the 3 kitties we have for space on the bed! I'm in the eventual process of making a large bed as I have a 72cm boy do I needed to buy a large shadow box frame to start the process!! Then lord knows what will happen when he finally gets into his bed with his man!! Have fun with your doll that what it's truly all about!! I hope to get the bed made soon so I can post pictures of it!! Do you think they make 600 thread doll sheets??? Hmmmm
One of mine (MSD size) sits on my bed during the day and at night gets moved to her own spot in the opposite corner from where I sleep. And my avatar doll has a little plush beanbag thingy and her own spot on my night table. The others have their own little spot on either a bookcase or storage cubby.
No I don't sleep with them and to be honest I have never thought about it. Their place is on a shelf. My three cats are sleeping with me, so 4 living creatures is enough for one bed ;].
I have, but not on a regular basis. The worst thing that happened was the wig got a bit messy. I would more often but they are cold. I'd say, go for it if you want. Why not? People do odd things all the time. Sleeping with a doll as an adult or teen is very tame in the realm of weirdness.
I don't sleep with my dolls, they're in the other room sitting in a vitrine shelf. Actually, i don't mind if someone sleeps with their dolls, but i would be too anxious that I'll break mine. I do sleep with plushies, and I don't consider that to be a weird habit.
I share a bed with my spouse and two large kitties and usually a few plushies so there's no room for dolls! Plus I move a lot in my sleep so I'd be afraid of breaking them or flinging them off the bed. I do like to have a tiny on my nightstand though.
That's cute hehe I'd be too afraid to sleep with my doll, I'd probably accidentally push her down and she'd broke her nose..
I don't sleep with my doll in fear of crushing him under my weight and breaking him. @ o @;;; If that isn't the case, I might just push him right off of the bed and it'd be horrible if he fell. ;;;
I don't sleep with my doll. I move around too much and my big dog tends to come on the bed often during the night, too much danger for such a small doll.
Eh, we don't judge here. When I've been particularly sick, confined to my bed, and lonely for a long time, I have stuck my sturdiest SD, Copernica, into the bed beside me for some comfort. She has a yarn wig and is strung rather loosely so she's actually pretty cuddly.
One of my dolls has his own pillow at the head of the bed that he sleeps on. He's not right next to me but it's so we can watch movies before we sleep...mostly horror so I guess that's why I don't want to be alone LOL
Aww that's so cute! I actually don't have a bjd yet but I love to sleep with all of my Plushies and with my Disney Animator Doll! It's not weird in my opinion Do whatever makes you happy!
I have a bunch of plushies and stuff animals on my bed so I don't think dolls will be any different. However, I would be afraid that they would break and for the price of a BJD I can't risk it. If they were cheaper, hey why not?
I don't sleep with her per say.. My head board on my bed as two mini bookshelves and I have her resting on one of them. I made it a bed of sorts for her. I enjoy tucking her in at night.
I definitely wouldn't want to sleep with my BJDs! My bed is way too messy and I flail around, I would definitely damage them or hurt them. I don't necessarily think it's weird, because I do sleep with a stuffed animal, but definitely not with my BJDs.
No, they are more art pieces and photography subjects to me, and I sleep with my fiance so I don't really want or need anything else to sleep with. I do have a plush collection and I purchased duplicates of some of my favorites that I removed the tags from and do cuddle with occasionally if my fiance is gone
I've never slept with any of my dolls (I have a gf :p and anyway I move around a lot in my sleep), but when I've been really depressed sometimes I've laid down and kept one of the dolls on the pillow next to me so I can hold their hand and pet their hair and stuff, just to give me something else to focus on.
I'm unsure I would considering that I sleep in a single bed, and while I don't move a lot while sleeping anymore, I do have those times where I can't fall into sleep and become an octopus D: . I NEED to move a lot, so having a doll by my side would probably get me anxious, sadly ;_;
I sleep with my fave minifee girl on my bed. She sleeps at the side of my pillows and there is a table so she can't fall off. She has her own pillow and blanket. Sometimes I'll hold her hand, it helps me sleep. I've never hurt her so far and she's been sleeping there for 2 years.
It sounds cute, but it definitely wouldn't work out for me. The bed is small, so there's no room, and I toss and turn a lot. Poor little thing might end up crushed. So, she's much more safe where she is.
Like everyone else, I'm way too worked about breaking my doll. Besides that, my dogs sleep with me and I have zero trust in them not to bite my dolls.
I don't think it's weird to sleep with your dolls in your bed. But I also don't that's comfortable since they are hard plastic. Since I have knocked my phone out of bed countless times, I don't trust myself if there is a doll in bed lol. I will probably break it or mess up the faceup
I roll all over the place when I sleep and I'm pretty heavy so I'd be too worried about breaking something, not to mention how uncomfortable it would be to feel their parts poking and prodding, and their wigs getting all tangled up when they inevitably get tossed around. I have 4 of my dolls on my desk and one OT doll in an SD sized bed next to my bed, under a spare desk.
