Wow, what a great little guide to your characters' relations. I never thought of doing something like this. I may have to give it a try.
You did an amazing job on that chart. I want to make one too now. I don't have dolls yet of all my characters, but I have three brothers, the eldest whom is dating another character, plus the older brother of that girlfriend. The middle brother is in the middle of a love triangle (well, actually it's a love square xD). Then there's two more who are dating each other but aren't related to the others. All of my characters have a connection to a school; student, faculty, etc. It'd probably be easier to make a chart of how they're all related to the school and their relationships within that. >.<
I love the way you’ve drawn it all out! I only have a few families represented in resin. I have Frost (rd crystal/withdoll cecily) and Thanatos (Iplehouse Kamau) Who are the adoptive parents of Laura (withdoll Adriana). I also have her biological parents, Katherine (withdoll cracked Adriana) and Grim (soom Gluino/dollzone gene body). The other family in my work is Auratus’ children. Auratus I don’t plan to shell but he’s totally an IOS Lacrymosa. He’s made babies with many people, but his wife was a woman named Luna, who I have tentatively as a character for my floating Deesse head. His son with Luna is named Euphony (he goes by E, cause he thinks him name is pretentious) and is a dollzone gene on a doll chateau A-04, and E’s twin sister is a girl named Tacet, Who is a short little f60 Lacrima. They also have twin half-siblings, Chromis and Dacrya. Chromis is my Ringdoll frankenstein, and Dacrya is a dollshe Amanda head I have on order. I may shell another half-sibling named Dialeptos, who is 1/4 dragon, but we will see!
I remember your post in BJD Addicts! Here is mine again, for reference. Hopefully more people get encouraged to do their own dolly family/relationship trees. The Team's Family Tree by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr
Cool! I'm looking forward to all of yours in the future @CUBICAKES @Havra @Cap'n @Chameleon @Zavrinas Thanks n np XD
This is a great idea and you did a wonderful job at it, @ILICarrieDoll and @AntarelNefertili Makes me not only want to expand my character bios and explore the relationships but ALSO...to see who I might be able to think about killing off or formally writing out with a satisfying conclusion if I decide to sell some dolls! Could it even help? Possibly!
@ILICarrieDoll yep that was me! My FB name's far from my DoA username, but the dolls should still be the same. @mimimontoya For me, the character bio/tree was quite helpful in setting priorities for who gets shelled. Unfortunately, sometimes the "who gets killed" doesn't necessarily equate to "I won't shell this one AT ALL" because I then want to shell out the character's ghost. XD
I did do a relationship grid once upon a time for my Middle Kingdom characters... Many of which do exist in doll form as part of the Turtle House and White City "casts". I'll dig it up when my web host has our server back online, even though it's a little outdated these days. Here it is...
I really ought to do an updated one with pictures... There have been changes along the way, and at the time I made that I didn't have most of the White City's elementals worked out. That would be quite a bear to design, though. Even the text version is kind-of a knot.
indeed putting pictures helps a lot, especially if the names can be quite unusual for people to remember XD
