Hello! I want to hybrid a Ringdoll head on a Doll Legend body. I have never had a hybrid, so I'm really anxious on what to do. Does anyone have any resin parts to compare their normal skin colors? I'd be very grateful!
I have both. I’ll say pretty much without double checking that ringdoll NS is paler than any other company I own. I can try to get a pic later if I can get them both out, but yeah, ringdoll are super pale, close to some companies’ WS. That said, if the head is paler it’s easier to colour match than if it’s too dark, and Doll legend are quite pale too. Sorry for the vague reply but my dolls are out of the way for Christmas right now.
Thank you so much for the answer! It helped me more than searching through several other threads already It would be very nice of you if you could take pictures. I can wait for them. It's better than ordering the parts and realize too late that they don't match! The company photos (for example these) of the ringdoll body look really "healthy" and not pale, so I'm quite surprised that they're whiter than others. I prefer a more tanned look, however Ringdoll doesn't seem to offer that option
Ringdoll normal resin is pale and... quite unstable. I suggest you to get fulldoll in once (for the exactly match) or start finding the match after you got your head. (If you want an example of some unstable color case I could show you picture)
Well, what should I do? I cannot buy a full doll to have a suitable body and then buy another body which might not match. And I cannot buy the head alone because it's only sold with body. But even if I could (like split the order) it would be also bad to buy only the head because in case that the resin color doesn't match, I'd have to buy the body I don't like afterwards which is way more expensive... It's so complicated... I'd appreciate any picture.
@Kinril Ok, these are not my dolls. I got these images from a local bjd community. They talk about two ringdoll which is both normal skin color but their tone seem to be different so it worried the owner. There also a dealer who step in and confirm that ringdoll resin is not stable especially during 2019-2020 you could check and compare below. Picture below is another couple. Show that weiwoxian is sometime paler or sometime darker than lanwangji. So the even "Same doll but different batch" could have different color. And a little more comparison Again, I'm not owner of these pictures and only borrow them to show the inconsistent of ringdoll resin. I also notice that the problem is you don't like the ringdoll body, isn't it? Ringdoll have many type of body and still you don't like them all? If you tell us more in detail (Like, what size and sculpt is that you are considering) maybe there's someone who know more than me and could help.
I own a pair of Doll Legend Normal Pink hands and they are VERY pale, significantly paler than my other resin samples (Dollshe Fresh, Bimong Pink-White, Resinsoul Normal, and a few others, but unfortunately, no Ringdoll resin)! I'm a fan of hybrids myself, and I frequently find myself preferring heads and bodies from different companies, so I definitely feel your pain! Hybrids are hard, but they can be very rewarding, even if you have to work a little to color match! I hope you'll be able to find a solution!
Oh, the wheat color looks exactly like the color I want! I wonder if I didn't know that wheat is darker than normal skin or if I didn't see it. Though it seems promising if NS Ringdoll is paler than other companies and Doll Legend as well. My dream would be to combine the Yumeo head of Ringdoll with one of the two Doll Legend bodys, probably smooth version Ringdoll has two bodys which are both sooo thin. It feels like many doll makers make their dolls thinner and thinner (for example Myou Dolls second 1/4 body compared to their third body... It looks like the girls have anorexia ) Nevermind, the pictures helped me a lot already! Somehow there are not many photos of different ring doll resins (or at least I don't find them ). Or maybe it's because of the differences within Ringdoll itself. I still have to think about what to do... Hybrids are really not easy!
@Kinril. Ok I see your point now. Ringdoll really lean to the slim side when talk about ringkid's body. If you really want to hybrid, get the head first then. When you have the head everything will be easier. Ps. I believe that you could purchase "Head only" for Yumeo. Just mail ringdoll and ask. Good luck
