Do lost dolls ever turn up again?

I was just talking to my dear friend about her stolen dolls, and I'm wondering... has anyone here actually recovered a stolen or missing doll? Theirs, or someone else's? I was also present for the "heist" at the NY Dolpa where multiple one-offs vanished actually; I always wondered if any of them ever surfaced, maybe even years later.

In my friend's case, the thief may not have even known what they were, since they were stolen with many other items. I've kept looking every day for over a year now, but I also don't want to give her false hope. Is it such a longshot that I should I be trying to help her "move on" (to the extent you even can), perhaps consider a new doll for a different character so it doesn't just make her sad thinking about her missing boys?

Genuinely curious whether anyone has ever gotten lucky, even under other circumstances.
