I absolutely love these dolls, and I absolutely love this thread! Yay Teacup Marionettes!~

 

They really are charming! I had one (Ursie) and ended up selling her to fund another doll sale (a Miss Marionette haha) but I hope to have another in the future. Currently my favorite heads are Mousie and Leo, but DoDollsDream seems to enjoy designing more for every preorder (I love that!) so we'll see who she comes up with next time.

 

Ahh, I just discovered these tiny cuties, and of course it's a week after the latest pre-order closed
I'll just live vicariously through everyone who owes one for now, until the next pre-order opens.

 

@sanachii - If you are really interested, you might try messaging DoDollsDream. She's always been so friendly and helpful when I've had questions. It's only been a week, so she might be able to fit an order for you in! And if not, you can be sure that there will be another Teacup preorder next year. They are popular little dolls!

Yay! That's so fun! What Teacup did you choose? I didn't order this past time, but I really love Mousie - she would have been my pick, but aside from financial considerations I couldn't decide on resin color. I think they're all really cute, though!

 

I did restring the wrist joints with a strong upholstery button thread, instead of the s-hooks. There's a small improvement in the the range of back and forth folding of the wrist, but not much. I should have added silicone kips, but I forgot... Not sure if this will help to hold the wrist positions better.
Also, I was thinking of replacing the elastic in the arms, as it's rather thick for the channels... Could be a contributor to the lack of range of movement...

Still very fond of my little Lullaby Maggie though. She's just such a little character... I just need to think up a name for her. Always a challenge for me... sigh

 

I got Lottie in the woodland echo resin! She is the perfect pouty face for my OC, and the teacup marionette body is also everything I wanted for him so I'm very excited~ I think they are all adorable tho, and if I was gonna pick a second I would probably go for.. Ursie or Owlie

Mousie is so cute too, those soft cheeks really do give a mouse-y feel!

 

Lottie is very cute! I love the woodland echo color, too - it is such a rich brown.

In regard to the wrist joints (in the discussion above) I believe the second version of the Teacup body, the one that has a jointed neck, is meant to have better wrist mobility. I'm pretty sure it was mentioned when they were previewed. But I would be curious to know if this was the case. I did own an Ursie in the original body at one point and her arms were a bit stiff.

 

Unfortunately, I couldn't get in on the pre-order in September. Would have been nice to add a Lullaby Aurie to my collection...
Maybe another time...

Hello! I am eagerly awaiting my first Teacup and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for where they like to get clothes for these cuties? She will be my first tiny, so it's new territory for me!

 

Most 1/6/YoSD clothing will fit, except pants since their hips are wider.
There are some makers that sell clothing specifically made for Teacups, like Kalcia, Les Coutures de Becca and Oddprincess.

 

Congrats on your first teacup! Teacups can wear Minifee skirts and pants, tops are too big though. Darias The Haunted Dollhouse is another very talented artist who makes clothes for teacups. Her website is inactive at the moment though.

What size clothes do you all get for your Teacups? I currently own one and have another stuck in customs, but very little clothes for them to wear based on measurements, I’ve gathered that they fit into Blythe shoes and MSD shorts, but I have seen people use both Blythe and YoSD tops; which is better? I would like to buy cute dresses and more ‘casual’ clothes for my girls

 

I'm a really big fan of Maggie, Carrie, and Lullaby Auri. May get them in the future!

Most of the things I buy for my Lottie are made for teacups specifically, so it fits her perfectly. But as a rule of thumb you can look for YoSd tops and dresses and MSD sized pants. My Lottie can wear Minifee pants and skirts for example.
Les Coutures de Becca is one of my favourite shops, I recommend following her on Insta to know when she updates the shop.

I'm really hoping Dodollsdream will bring back some nice fantasy colours for the next preorder. I'm thinking about getting another cute little teacup. Not sure which sculpt though.

 

Hey, for those of you who have Ursie, what size eyes are you using? More specifically, what iris size? I have a 14mm pair in mine but the iris size just doesnt look right to me.

 

If anyone has Owlie, ca I see what you did for her faceup? I'm a bit lost on what to do for mine so some inspiration, especially fantasy style, would help

A bit of a late reply to this but I have Ursie and had the same issue, I asked Dodollsdream and she recommended 14mm eye/7mm iris to me, she said that's what she mostly uses for her

I am so bummed. I adore seeing these little ones in pictures, but I think maybe they just may not be for me. I have been searching since I ordered my Ursie last year for things that I would like for her and everything just seems to come up not right. I haven't had a doll sit completely blank for this long in a very long time.

 

Hi! I asked about tan resin matches a few years ago, but it seems like the resin has been different in newer releases. Does anyone have Pale Rose resin to compare with Volks or Fairyland normal? Or Milky Sugar to compare with Volks or Fairyland white?

One week until the next preorder. Is anyone getting a new teacup and/or one of the newer sculpts?
I will probably get a Leo this time since she already spoke to me two years ago. I'm hoping for a nice lavender resin tone or a soft pink maybe. Not sure about that yet. Curious about new extra parts as well.

 

I’m so, so very tempted to get a Leo myself, or Cordelia of the new ones ❤️ I’m finishing my layaway for my Miss Marionette Leona next month however, and it would be nice to not have a back-to-back layaway for such a pricey doll

A green teacup Lucie or Ursie and a Leo in a tan color are my current biggest grails

 

I didn't think I could be won back by teacups, but a cyber Melodie in purple is calling me.

I also agree that I I would like to not have back-to-back layaways for a very pricey doll like these, but. Here we are xD Screaming over that bunny she is so cute.

 

i just learned that I’d be able to order both of my grails with this pre-order and am now desperately trying to girl-math how to make it happen I didn’t think Leo and Lucie would be available this time around, and now it turns out they both are, in my preferred colors

 

I love them!! I have Annie (with Leo and Lullaby Ursie's face) They represent the same character, just with different moods.

If it makes you feel any better, I totally understand. She has a few teacups I've been waiting for and her dolls are so pricey I can definitely only get one at a time. Leo and Aurie and Micchan are tempting me, but I want the new bunny so bad. I hope you can figure out how to get both of your girls home without needing to have them share a body or something!

 

So excited for this preorder and still trying to decide which ones I'd like to get. I really should only get one but Harmonie and Cordelia are top on my list this time.

 

I feel you, dream dolls always seem to turn up when you're out of doll funds, had that happen to me more than once. Hope you can find a way to make it work for you.

@piciici Your Leo is so cute! I just ordered Leo in wayward wind resin. Already excited for her although the wait will be long.

 

I caved and bought Lullaby Lottie as well! I couldn't resist that Strawberry Chocolate resin. It's so warm and calm. I'm normally so against not getting extra hands, but I couldn't afford to get them with her AND Melodie, so I chose to get just a base Lullaby Lottie.

I picked up Cordelia in Wayward Wind this time. Super excited! I wanted so many others, including Jumeau but going to wait for the next preorder. Time to start planning out her eyes and face-up. Does anyone keep a notebook of their plans?

I ordered a Vivienne in strawberry chocolate. I was going to sit out this preorder, but I kept thinking about her and how she would be such a good friend for my Mousie. And I wanted to make sure that I got her in strawberry chocolate since I'm not sure if it'll be a regular color offering. It'll be awhile until she's home but I'm excited to start planning for her.

 

She said yes! I just submitted the form for a Lullaby Lottie in Radioactive Cupcakes with the extra hands and feet. I hesitated because these are pricier dolls and I wasn't sure about the proportions, but I couldn't stop thinking about her. I have a wig no longer being used by another doll I think will be perfect for her.

 

Placed my order for Micchan instead of Sophie, hope Sophie stays for the next roster (also wishing ddd could bring back retro chocolate).

 

Volks YoSD Kanata head on the Teacup Marionette body. Obviously Kanata is old, and the resin match is not working. But I think a YoSD head on this body could work with neck modification. I’m going to try a Littlefee head and headback before I commit to neck modding, though.

Too bad you can’t order extra necks in the preorder

 

@snowgray - I have a similar issue with my Miss Marionette body that I want to hybrid with another head.

This is my plan: there's a sculptor on Instagram (@syntheticephemera) who does 3D printing and offers services related to it. I intend to sculpt my own neck joint with epoxy/LaDoll/etc, send it to them, and then they will 3D scan it and print it in resin. They said they could do it and that the printed resin would be strong enough to work for the neck. So maybe you could try something like that for your Teacup body? I've seen their work at matching printed resin to cast resin and it is really good!

 

I will probably just try the other head I’m interested in, pick one that I’ll commit to, and then sand the neck down to fit. Since what I want to do is subtractive, and I don’t plan to use any of the Teacup heads on the body, I don’t mind it.

But, since the neck piece is separate, it would be nice if DDD offered extras!

 

That makes sense! I don't want to mod the neck for mine because I'd like to use the original head and I don't want to mod the hybrid head because it is rare.

I hope you'll be able to find a head you like!

 

How long do these girls normally take to ship? It would be great of mine is home in time for the NYC Doll Convention in April.
