Do doll owners dream of resin?

Every now and then I have a dream that involves BJDs. I've had the stressful dream where I'm waiting for a doll (not necessarily that I'm waiting for one in real life) and I have problems with the delivery, or gets stolen, or something on those lines. I've also had dreams where I'm working on things for them, either wigs, clothes, etc. And then the most recurring ones are the ones where I get some new doll either I bought it and I receive it or someone gifted it to me. Most of the times it's dolls that don't exist in real life but let me tell you, I remember specifically this one time the doll I received was so perfect and looked exactly like everything I've been looking for in a doll for a long time. It was an automatic non-existent grail. I was so massively disappointed when I woke up I'm still yearning for her even though she doesn't exist

 

Oh boy, I have that all the time! Not (yet?) with dolls, but with books, films, etc. It's so annoying that we can't just make our dreams real

 

I do have a reoccurring dream in which I go into either a big toy store or some market where there’s loads of stalls and I see dolls I want but when I go to pick them up they’ve changed into something I’m not interested in and no matter how much I search the area they were in I cannot find them again even though every so often I catch a glimpse of what I think was them.

This same theme also plays out with doll clothes, human jewellery (usually very gothy stuff like armour rings) and once it was fancy bright coloured wigs. Mainly it’s dolls though.

 

I have a highly anticipated doll coming today, along with my friend’s doll, and last night I had two separate dreams about their arrivals xD (Meeksdoll mermen :3)

In the first one, they came in boxes about the size of Barbie dolls and one of the boxes was destroyed. I opened it to discover it was my merman with the destroyed box, and he was fine except he looked like he’d been picked up off the street and had a neon pink wig on. Both dolls had 2 tail joints and they were basically the Barbie mermaids you played with in the tub as a kid LOL The funny thing is I wasn’t disappointed in the dream, I was just confused, and then I accepted it happily? Ok then xD

In the second one, they came in bigger boxes more appropriate to their size, and when we opened them I discovered my merman was a clone of one of my other dolls, and rather than a jointed tail he had jointed legs and a silly orange slip sewn over them as a tail xD I then proceeded to play with his wigs and was like alright, cool. I guess he can be the other guy’s twin or something.

These dumb dreams really hyped me up for the real thing!!! XD The boys are going to be so much more than this lol

 

Last night I dreamed I had a tan Luts Dark Elf Soo. Specifically that I reshelled my light-skinned DES into the tan version- but the "tan" was actually a beautiful, rich, much darker brown than the actual old Luts tan shade? It was lovely, but I found myself thinking "damn, now I have to send the head off to the faceup artist and have her try to recreate the old look again because I love it so much."

Not sure why I dreamed this- the tan DES is gorgeous, but I love Celandine as she is and I don't know where I'd put another of these big sturdy girls even if I had one!

 

I dreamt of Volks fcs the other night - in my dream it was an in-person event and you had to enter a room to meet the Director and Board and there was a table on the side to choose the parts to make your doll from. Then you had to justify your choice to the board

 

Had my first doll dream in a while. I had ordered a resin Kinoko Juice Kiki head to go on my Azone Kikipop doll. I removed the Kikipop head and strung the resin head onto the body. This logically shouldn't work because the head is attached via a peg, and the Kikipop body has an internal skeleton, but this is a dream after all. I posted my weird hybrid to DoA where it got lots of likes and comments. I might have taken pictures of my dream Raccoondoll Celine too, but she had a really weird, fantasy-type faceup that I'd never use for her.

 

Yeah. I was kind of obsessed with my SD sized boy before I got him. I kept dreaming that I was buying him right from the company that makes him which is just impossible as he's very limited and very expensive new. Way out of my budget range.

About a week after the last dream I spotted a hybrid version of him and he was a bit much for my budget but just barely affordable. So I got him and now he's in the process of being put together in terms of his faceup and his clothes and character and all that.

I am also putting together a lady friend for him and he's also got a resin daughter. The whole thing actually came out of a dream I had years ago and a fan fic story I did based on it about all of them for a friend who was into a particular TV show...

So basically they're ALL coming into existence because of a dream ..

 

I do often! I also have dreams like yours about finding dolls at garage sales/thrift shops, notably being finding a few of my dream dolls, in general I dream often of getting dolls in miraculous and unlikely ways, often for crazy affordable

 

Oh yessss I also had dreams about suddenly finding my dream dolls for ridiculous prices at yard sales and I was so happy. And then I woke up and had to face that it was only a dream :"( a dream indeed

 

Maybe not resin thus far, but I've definitely dreamt of owning limited/hard-to-find Dollfie Dreams, Blythes, and Pullips before! I'm sure it's only a matter of time before a resin doll sneaks their way into my subconscious.

 

My new Minifee girl came in from Fairyland last night. She was a newer sculpt (post 2012), so I can't remember which sculpt I chose.

 

I ordered a cute boy from Switch and was really annoyed with myself for buying a doll I had no plans for instead of buying the doll I did have plans for. Oh well.... I can't wait to see who I ordered when he comes in 6 months.

 

Yes, I’ll have dreams that I find a doll in my room that I forgot I owned (but don’t actually own in real life) . It’s always really cool in the dream because it’ll be a unique doll and it’s like I’m getting to experience owning it for the first time all over again LOL.

 

the only time i can remember having a dream about bjd was before i actually got my Angel of Dream Yuki. she was a Christmas gift from my husband in 2018 but she'd been on my wishlist since 2013 when i started my collection. so this dream would probably have been around 2017 sometime.

anyway...i dreamed that i had ordered her, and in the dream the package arrived, but when i opened her box it was an old discolored 1:4 scale body with stains on it (she's an SD sized doll) with the Yuki head perched on top, and instead of normal packing material like bubble wrap the box was full of old crumpled stained scraps of fabric, as if someone got their doll sewing stash absolutely filthy and dumped it in the box.

to put it simply, i guess i dreamed about ordering a doll i really wanted and receiving an actual box of trash instead. in the dream i remember feeling really confused and turning the dirty, gross, mismatched doll over and over in my hands trying to figure out how i'd mod or customize her to make her look like she was supposed to. i guess it was more of a bjd nightmare which is probably why i still remember it...and honestly if that's what my resin dreams are like i'm glad that's the only one i've ever had!

 

I had a strange dream the other night where my doll was seemingly animated (think toy-story like) and was swinging his feet sitting on my desk when he looked at me and told me I had to go to the hospital. Very bizarre!

 

I've posted to this thread before, but I had a doll dream recently.

In it, I was cleaning and organizing my doll area/shelves, as I do sometimes. I lifted up a bag on the floor and, lo and behold, underneath was a doll I had forgotten about! It was a grey resin centaur boy, I think in 1/4 scale. When I looked at him, I remembered buying him, and couldn't believe I had forgotten. But of course, I've never owned this doll in real life. I do have a grey resin centaur boy, but he's a deertaur, and he looks nothing like this one did.

I wouldn't mind suddenly finding a new doll under a bag, but I would also feel very bad for having forgotten entirely about a whole doll!

 

I recently had a dream where I was doing a photoshoot of one of my actual dolls from irl. I was posing her, and then she suddenly became sentient, and instructed me to "find the ancient tunnels" that apparently existed beneath our house...
I found them, and it was really creepy. I was also supposed to find a specific set of items hidden there for some kind of ritual purpose, but I didn't find them all before I woke up.
I guess my doll became a cult leader while I was asleep??

 

I found cat teeth marks on my beloved Chebyshev's hands, feet, and nose. I begged my friend for $100 to replace his body.

 

I was carrying my beloved Verona around and looked down to see one of his fingers hanging on by a thread. I was going to cry!

 

@ashefaust that sounds like the plot of a Laika movie I love these dreams where dolls are animated.

 

Like a few others I've dreamt about finding dolls that I forgot I owned I don't fully remember the whole dream but this all happened within in one dream. I was getting a doll from my wardrobe where I store them and I realise there are more dolls than I remember. Something like 3-4 full dolls and even some floating heads. I think they're all dolls I've wanted at some point and I felt bad in the dream because most of them are still blank and uncustomised cause I've not had time to work on them since I suddenly bought so many? I also had the thought of, ah now I have to sell some of them and that it'll be a hassle. And then I bring one of these dolls that I don't own in real life to a doll meet and the location was like a ...themed gothic house of sorts with a grand staircase? It's very out of place for where I am and the other attendees were mostly dressed in lolita for some reason? Honestly I forgot I had this dream until I was reading this thread haha

 

I've had lots of doll related dreams over the years my most recent being a few days ago, in my dream I got a huge 'surprise' box of stuff from volks in the mail including a whole super dollfie, how? dream me had ordered and paid for it months ago but it got lost in the mail & I got a refund for my order instead of having it all reshipped, but then months later the package actually made it to me, lo-and behold there she was in a big box from volks with her box and filled to the brim with accessories

 

I had a similar dream once! I was helping clear out a family friends house and in the garage among like a bunch of Christmas decoration boxes were a bunch of doll boxes, its a bit blurry cause the dream was so long ago but I remember trying to make sure they were properly sorted out so I could try to buy/keep them
