Edited photo from Dollstown. This is what I ordered with all 3 feet, extra string and in Copper Oriental. I also am having DT do the face up since it will be to cold here to do one. The 2.2 Girl by Marie, on Flickr
Nice! I'll look forward to seeing her all put together. I'm adding the body (flat chest, small hips, probably short legs) to my list for the next time I need a suitable skinny-kid body for a new head (unfortunately, most of the DT face sculpts aren't smiley enough for me). Teddy
I ordered the 4-part gal, too, with almost all the inverse options! Short and small, in Freshskin, flat and heel feet. I really like the head, too. I'm looking forward to seeing all the different ways people will be styling their own! Edit: I've been studying all the different torso options and I think I rather like the Vision body version best, actually. I'll email an inquiry about changing my order!
I am SO curious about this doll! I'm thinking maybe my Dollmore Mio can finally have a body. I'm not going to order yet (need to sell some dolls first) but if I do it will be short and small everything (haha) with the 4-part torso. I am really looking forward to seeing the cast doll. I'm not sure about the mid-upper-arm joints (I like the idea, but I'm concerned they may slide out of alignment easily), and I also kind of wish more attention was paid to the torso's forward bend rather than the backward bend (I certainly pose dolls slouching forward far more than arching backward). Still, it is so hard to find dolls in this size range, and the sculpting is beautiful.
I ordered a second girl. Same as first but in oriental skin. Also only getting flat feet, none of the other ones. She won't be faced up by Dollstown, but by Redmaiko. I am hoping she will arrive first.
I made an order for a body ... Can anyone tell me am I supposed to wait for an email to pay via Paypal? Or just attempt to send the total via Goods and Services?
Go to your account to get the total owed and the order number so you can put that in message. You can also see their PayPal address in information on website. Send it to that address and in a couple of days you should see your order go from awaiting payment to payment received.
@animemom THANK YOU so very much. I was very uncertain how to proceed but didn't want to wait too long and miss the fantastic opening sale on this 2.2 doll. I ordered the long legs/short arms version to try on a Merry Doll Round Berry head. The head is such an in-between size, I was so happy to see Dollstown make this 50ish cm body. I have a feeling it might be a little too slim for the MDR head but it's gotta be SO close. I have to try it. I do love small 1/3 size dolls.
Happy I could help. Personally I am terrible at hybridization of dolls so I felt it best I get head designed for the body. One will be faced up by Dollstown and the other by Redmaiko. Look forward to seeing everyone's 2.2 girl.
Has anyone received one of these yet? I reached out to Jonghak An on November 17th and was told there was a delay. I can't get on the website - don't know what's up with that - and I don't want to keep pestering them. I would love some news.
This is what he posted on Instagram (in case it is helpful): "I opened a casting center last year, and this year has been another busy one. Because I'm working on both prototypes and casting, it seems to fly by even faster. Thank you for the year 2025. I apologize for the significant delay in working on the 2.2 line dolls. The sanding work is completely finished, and after a few days of surface coating, we'll begin working on the silicone molds. Please look forward to the new dolls coming out next year. I wish you all the best in the new year. Merry Christmas." So the first dolls haven't been cast yet - but hopefully soon! I'm quite curious to see them!
Yes I was told they were running behind when I asked when my two would be shipped. I am dealing with major health issues, cancer found in numerous locations and right now stomach one is the worst due to not allowing me to eat enough or keep down food without being super careful amount and what. Anyway I am hoping to have mine soon as they will have to go to my DIL seeing as no time for dolls anymore.
I just got an email from Dollstown and my blank 2.2 girl will be shipped out tomorrow. The one I ordered with a face up and extra feet options will be shipped in a few days once face up is done and ready. I will do my best to take and share photos, but I am having my third round of chemo and not sure how my energy level will be. Hopefully by the time the second one arrives I will be able to do photos.
@animemom - I'm very sorry to hear about your health problems! Cancer is so difficult to handle (I know from family experiences) - I hope that your treatments will be effective quickly and that you will start to feel better very soon! Also, I hope you enjoy your first 2.2 girl! Please put your health first and rest - photos can definitely wait.
Your health is far more improtant than sharing doll pictures with us (as nice as that is). The resin isn't going anywhere and pictures can be taken when your energy levels have returned to more managable levels and your system has system has stabilized from the chemo How nice - two new dolls to style and get to know. And not arriving together so more than one delivery to look forward to as well. I#m very tempted by some of the body options, but I prefer more smiley face sculpts than the usual DollsTown ones so will wait and see what heads are released (or see if I come up with another company's head that I can hybrid onto one of these bodies). I'm at capacity so, techincally, not supposed to be looking for new dolls to add to the household - but when I see a face sculpt I can't resist.... Teddy
Thank you both for the well wishes. Stage four cancer is very hard to deal with and non so many organs at times it feels a losing battle. I am hopeful the scans in a few weeks will show progress, but for now I can only go by when I have a good day with energy and appetite. Hugs to you both.
My girl arrived after only three days of travel, a record not seen in years. I am totally in love. The unique nubs for helping with putting on clothes instead of hands that snag every thread on a sleeve to the beautiful poses this body will be able to do. I took box opening photos but my energy level dropped after a while so editing will be tomorrow. I always felt like I could never afford a doll like from Twigling, Popovy Sisters or other beautifully sculpted dolls. Dollstown has made my dreams come true. It will be hard to find clothes, but maybe others will get these dolls and be inspired to create for them. My only issue is they didn't name the #1 head they created for the body. They have always named the heads, maybe they will if names are suggested. I for one feel whatever the word inspiring is in Korean or something similar. This first one I am naming Ayeka from Tenchi Muyo, the first anime series my son introduced me to. The second one will be named Ryoko.
Congratulations on her safe arrival! So happy to hear that you love her! I am sooo hoping that the body might work for my hybrid. How is the stability of the arms? I am quite curious about that upper arm joint. It must give a great range of motion, but it's not a joint I've seen often before. It's interesting you mention the Popovy dolls - I've always wondered why bjd sculptors didn't carry that wonderful posing ability to larger dolls more often. I'm happy to see more of it now!

Flickr at firsty told me that it doesn't exist when I clicked on the link but opened up just fine when I clicked on the photo itself and followed the album link on the photo page, and now it's opening the album when I click on the link - Flickr is weird sometimes. She certainly looks like she's solid when standing. Teddy
She looks lovely! I'm very glad to hear you're enjoying her. I'm guessing that's the long arms-long legs version, and maybe big hips? She looks very elegant
She is but I would feel better if she had on shoes. Going to be tricky to find shoes that don't look oversized. I think I ordered enlarge hips, but need to print receipt to be 100% sure. Just need husband to show me how to print from new computer to my printer in basement.
Just got an email from Dollstown. My faced up girl is going to be on her way home tonight, Should if she's as lucky as the other be here by Sat.
New Hello everyone I received my 2.2 yesterday. She's a truly surprising doll ! I've had BJDs for 20 years, but mostly conventional ones, so this is really very different from what I'm used to handling. She requires a bit of practice and dexterity, but she can really twist in all sorts of ways. I named her "la brindille" (the sprig in french) and she will be perfect for the custo I'm planning for her (a mix of ballerina, insect...). Aesthetically, I really like the upper half (from the pelvis to the head), less so the legs, but that's been the case since the prototype stage, so no surprises in the final product. The resin is beautiful, and of the same quality as the other lines. I am very happy with my purchase ! I took some simple photos to show her to you (I have no wig, no eyes, just a few clothes at most, don't pay attention to her look). Here with the standard hands and feet (I chose several options and received the missing ones as a gift). 4 parts, long neck, small chest, long arms, long legs and large hip. Spoiler: More in spoiler
New Wish I knew how to cut out the message part as just wanted to say your girl is lovely and my two girls are also ballerinas. I think the wig you have on her is the perfect style for her. I have them both in wigs I think work for now. Maybe by the time they are doing ballet photos I will have found their perfect ballerina wigs. But first the shoes for the feet.
New Thank you @animemom ! With such a flexible body, we just want to do a ballerina This wig has a lot of volume and I would like a very dark doll in the end (black makeup, hair, clothes...) Take care and show us your ladies sometime
New I've been following the progress of this body system since it was first posted to Instagram, and was tempted enough to go look at the order pages even though I have no floating heads awaiting bodies (and currently have a 5Year body tht doesn't have a head) but couldn't find anoiption that included the flat chest piece (rather than the small-bust piece)... which I suppose I should be thankful for as the last thing I need is to stockpile another body I don't have a head for. Teddy
New Thanks - that option wasn't showing up when I looked, and I see they also added the options for feet/hands/ears too. Teddy
New Thanks for the photos @citronrouge! She's lovely - and makes a perfect ballerina. Your concept for her sounds beautiful, too! How flexible is she for forward-slouching poses? I feel like way more attention is given to backward-bending poses in all the pictures, but I love a doll that can curl up (like with knees to chest, etc.).
New My 2.2 arrived today! Short arms, short neck, short legs on the Vision type body in Fresh skin. Something I love about Dollstown is their commitment to experimentation. I absolutely love this wee girl. The regular-size Vision body is one I like very much, but a very weird one, rather unmanageable actually with the legs, and this miniaturized version is similar in that way, but it benefits from the peanut joints interrupting the thigh rather than it being continuously solid. That being said, the body lines I appreciate so much in the Vision body carry over beautifully, and the additional joint under her breasts is a terrific improvement over the full size. The soft indentations around her kneecaps and elbows are so fine and pretty to look at. The sculpting is marvelous all around, I love her exaggeratedly elongated torso coupled with her shorter limbs. The rippled ribcage and her shoulder blades and the vertebrae at the back of her neck - another aspect that really sets Dollstown apart for me, all those tiny physical details. Her pointe feet are AMAZING. She feels terrific to handle, too. Great size. Really beautiful. I had originally planned for her to be an android, but her proportions are so unusual and she's so dancerly that I believe I'll make her into an artist, a peripatetic painter travelling the world in order to paint it. Spoiler: More pics etc! You see those buttock peanut joints there - the legs swivel and twist in a pleasing way, but they are quite uncooperative generally, which I was expecting. As you can see, though, in arranging the legs in nuanced positions, these joints lend the upper thigh where it meets the hip a bit of fluidity that I really like. And I like the way the joints jut out all bulbous and knobby. They appear so functional and organic that it's not unsightly. Her lovely back and shoulders. She can curl up easily into a fetal position. I love being able to turn her neck! The neck joint is the ONE joint that I think doesn't look very good. But I am so in love with all her articulation, I can't complain.
New @StellaMarigold Jong Hak added new pics / positions on his IG, including the one you're asking for @hollyholly love the combinaison you chose. Welcome to your pretty girl
New @StellaMarigold I've added some "tragic" photos, where she's leaning forward, in case that helps. I love her swan-like neck. That's what I've always loved about Dollstown dolls, their natural grace and elegance. Spoiler: More pics
New Thank you everyone who is contributing photos ad comments. hollyholly you should copy and paste everything you said here and if you are a Dollstown member get those credits and put this on the reviews page of website. Add a couple of photos too and get paid towards a future purchase. They love to hear from the people who have their dolls. I am still trying to gather photos and info on my next review as I love the hope they will add more to this line in heads and in hands. I look forward to hearing more from people who bought the different style bodies and what they decide their personalities and styles are. I am excited to share my girl who was faced up by Dollstown as well but the cancer treatment this past Tuesday has really taken a lot out of me this time. Hopefully soon I can share photos.
New @citronrouge - Thank you! Those are helpful! I think I'll probably go with the "Rips" body at some point because I prefer the more youthful look (the character is young). I won't be able to order for a long time, but I'll be glad to enjoy lots of owner photos in the meantime! @animemom - I hope you start feeling better soon! That's nice to hear about the coupons. I noticed I have a $10 coupon in my account, although I haven't ordered before. I will save it for one of these girls for sure!
New @animemom - Thank you for the suggestion! I just submitted my review. I should do them the courtesy of reviewing the rest of my Dollstown collection, nevermind that everybody is still a WIP!
New Just be careful the coupons they offer during sales can expire. Not the ones you earn from purchases and reviews. Yes I have submitted may reviews on website and a lot of the just last year and this year. I was buying a lot before my diagnosis. Now most are heading to new homes, but they were just to big for me to handle. These girls are perfect and my latest ones remind me of my two big girls on vision and 16 year girl bodies.
New Oh, @hollyholly - if you happen to see this and it's not an inconvenience, can you tell me if she actually is 52cm like the website says? You chose the short legs (which is what I would choose) and I'm just curious! They had the measurements up before the dolls were cast if I recall correctly, and I know the casting process does shrink the pieces a bit. But also there was a photo with the 52cm Elf body, and this girl looked taller, but that might have been the long legs! Thank you!
New @hollyholly - Ahhh! Thank you! I'm quite pleased with that. The hybrid I have in mind might work out!
New Well I couldn't resist the new head they just released for the body, so got a #2 head in Copper Oriental with small bust & hips, short neck, arms and legs. I added face up w/o freckles and the heel feet as well as an extra pair of hands to be safe. Let see how long this one takes.
New Dollstown 2.2 body with Merry Doll head by t4124, on Flickr I just received the body in copper oriental for my Merry Doll Round Berry head in cookie. I think the body is a little too slim for the head maybe but WOW What a body! The type of doll to make you fall in love with BJD all over again. I love how organic the joints look compared to the blockiness of the 18yr girl and boy for example. And they can REALLY move. Difficult to stand her with all those leg joints, but she goes into the most beautiful poses almost automatically. I just love this body, wow! (Edit to add: I pre-ordered in November 2025. Extra heel feet were included as a gift! And one other small tube, I think it must be the alternate neck part? And paddle hands for dressing!)
New Wow, she looks amazing! Personally, I think the hybrid works beautifully but I am fonder of more "doll like" proportions (larger heads on slimmer bodies). I steeled myself against MDR Berry during the preorders because I already have too many frustratingly-difficult-to-hybrid heads, but I'll remember this if I ever see one secondhand! One of the things I love about this body is the range of motion of the feet. The ballet feet are gorgeous but even the regular feet can point almost straight down. I love that you don't have to change the feet for that flexibility. The wrists also seem nicely flexible.
New I think it works quite well. My Berry head in cookie is on a copper oriental DT 7Year Boy body (or will be once it comes home friom getting a faceup). It's good to know it works on this body too, just in case I get the urge for an older girl with this facesculpt. Teddy
New https://www.flickr.com/photos/31019480@N02/albums/72177720332631931 Took some photos of poses by Ryoko. Sorry lighting not great but I had the energy to do it so lighting was best I could do. Hopefully better photos of these girls soon. Meet Ryoko by Marie, on Flickr
