Resin Comparison DIM Doll Last Order Resin Comparison

UPDATE 7/22/2023: Added more resin comparisons at bottom of thread.

I was lucky enough to snag a few sculpts from Denny's last order of select sculpts (so happy and grateful - thanks Denny!) and thought I'd do a resin comparison for reference The sculpts are all MSD.

Left to right: WS Larina, WS Jullis, and NS Flowne. Note, there is a discrepancy between Larina and Jullis resin as Larina is newly casted where as Jullis was a leftover stock item Denny had. The difference is not bad, Larina is a little bit brighter, maybe transluscent(?) where Jullis seems to be a creamier more opaque white Flowne is also newly casted but I do not have any old DIM to compare her to. Above photo was taken no flash with Iphone XR.


Comparing whites. Doll is Arttong WS Dolce sculpt (2020) on a Luts Real Skin White Muse body (2022). Arttong and Luts seem to have a light pink tint where as the DIM's have a light yellowish tint. Probably can work with Luts with faceup and resin matching magic. Taken with Lumix camera, I think with Flash (the rest of the photos will be Lumix camera).

Close up with Flash. IMO, the proportions look good with Jullis. Jullis is a much bigger head than the other two DIM Sculpts. I think DIM old MSD boy bodies had a neck measurement of 8cm. The Luts Muse body neck measurement is 9cm. I didn't completely attached the head to the body as the S hook is thicker and didn't want to risk breaking the resin piece in the head sculpt.

Rose Pink Supia Esther (2021). This resin is very light pink, maybe white undertone. IMO, not a very good resin match with DIM NS, but maybe with the WS. No Flash.

Universe Doll Yuyuan in NS Pink (2021). Probably a 99% match, maybe UD is a little bit lighter/brighter and DIM is a little bit darker, but the tone is very good. With Flash.

Doll is Arttong head (NS Dolce sculpt, 2020) on a Peakswoods NS SD Body (2014). No Flash. DIM NS is pinker and lighter, Arttong is a little more peachy but maybe the same brightness(can't really explain it, but DIM and Arttong are newer resin compared to the Peakswoods body). Peakswoods matches the Arttong sculpt but is a little bit darker. It doesn't match DIM NS very well but maybe with some creative blushing.

Another comparison, no flash. Bigger headcap is Arttong NS (2020), then DIM NS (2022), and Peakswoods NS (2014)

Not bad proportional wise, but the neck is too big for the neck hole (peakswoods measure 10cm I believe).


Its really hard to see, but there is a gap between the sculpt and neck of the body. Otherwise I think it would work, but IMO the slimmer neck with the Muse body works better. With Flash.​

UPDATE 7/22/2023:
New resins to compare from previous photos: Doll Family H Pink Skin Normal, Doll Family H White Skin*, Universedoll White skin, older DIM Doll Resins in Normal skin (early 2000 and 2010s)

*I need to confirm about the DF-H White. The doll was sent to me with these "hand savers" which are just resin paws in place of hands that are a white resin. I'm not sure if this is their actual white skin for all their dolls - i will update after confirming.

Update DF-H White resin: I was able to confirm (with help from DF-H Discussion) the white resin used on the paws is indeed the white resin used for DF-H dolls.


Starting from the very top, (the 1/6 size), Peakswoods Stevie head (2017, NS) on an Azone Pure Neemo body (2017,WS), DIM Bbjorn head cap (NS - early 2000s?), DIM Annelise (NS - 2010 or later?), DIM Flowne (2022, NS), Doll Family H Hand (2023, Pink NS), DIM Larina (2022, WS), DIM Jullis (unknown year, was old stock Denny had, WS), Doll Family H Paw (2023, WS) and Universdoll 1/4 male body (2022, WS).



NS comparisons. The Flowne head (2022) matches the best for the DF-H Pink NS. The BBjorn headcap is darker because of age. I'm hoping as the DF-H body ages, it will match the older DIM head. The DIM Annelise head is lighter than the BBjorn head cap, it is a tad yellow compared to the DF-H hand, but I think its good match as well, it will be harder to tell the difference with a faceup. The Peakswood resin seems to match the old DIM BBjorn head well, but Peakshead is more Peach while DIM is pink and a little bit lighter.


Closer look of the old DIM resins and the DF-H Pink NS hand. I got the body for the BBjorn head. The BBjorn head cap matches the hand very well, more than the Annelise head cap, even though the BBjorn sculpt is older. Annelise (cap on the right) is a tad yellow, but it is lighter than the BBjorn's dark pink. Picture is taken without flash.

White comparison. The Larina (2022, WS) matches the Universedoll body the best - they both have a bright, transluscent white. Jullis matches the DF-H White paw the best, they are both an opaque white, a little bit cream colored. Jullis would work with the Universdoll body if faceupd just right, just as Larina would work with DF-H with some faceup magic.
