What type of body does he have?? Version 1 or 2??

 

I got him de Fantasydoll boy body - msd in light normal skin - not a perfect match colourwise, but a great body - a great poser, nice chest and 100 euro less expensive than the DIM bodies.

I've found a second hand Flowne for sale, and I'd really like to see some spam of her. She's really pretty, but I'll either have to make an offer on her that I think is lower than the seller would like, or spend ages saving up the extra amount, so I'd like to see lots pf pictures so I know what to do

Also, there were some comments floating around about the happy girl body having knee problems, anyone else having issues with that?

Kthuhu42 - knee problems? I haven't seen anything about that in the last two threads? Maybe they don't like the knees on the new girl body? It does look a bit different from what I'm used to.

 

@Cyador There were a few comments on Tumblr about "not liking the new knees" and I wasn't sure if there was a physical problem or if it was just an aesthetic thing. They look fine to me!

 

I do not think there are very many people that have the new body yet. So more then an aesthetic thing it can hardly be. Seeing the new body on the latest dolls and how well the corsets/dresses look on them I would take the knees even if they are a bit silly. Unfortunately I can not affort the body at the moment - so I might buy a head or two with other (cheaper) bodies.

Let me see, Chase has on a hoodie from Alice's Collections and his shorts are from Dollmore.
Nick is wearing a shirt from Alice's Collections and his jeans were made by someone on DOA.
Ryan's shirt may have been from Ebay. I've seen it several places. His jeans I think are from M3.
Tanner's shirt is from Nine9Style. His jeans are TTYA.

And both my girls are wearing clothes from Dollmore.

Tom got his first face-up yesterday - I love his mouth but the hairs in his eyebrows are too thick and not realistic enough. The pictures are washed out in colour, so I'll have to try new ones tomorrow.

 

It's true, I do. I desperately need new clothes and instead I buy things for them.

The washed out picture - I need to find another way to make these pictures smaller. There is a subtle blush on his face- that looks nice - it doesn't show on this picture at all. Might be that it is too blue?
Anyway - still need to take a better picture, but here is Tom - with his first finished outfit and his first face-up (with bad eyebrows)

Cyador - Tom is adorable. I find that DIM's resin is rather tricky in that my kids tend to wash out in photos especially outside.

Paulo becomes Paula on a regular basis because I cant resist putting him in little dresses
Maybe someday Ill get another Harlech to dress up frilly and save him the embarrassment...

Seriously?? Just a month ago?? Your face-ups look like they have been done by a professional with many years of experience

 

Yoana - your girls are very pretty and you have learned a lot in that month! Great work! Have you tried applying eyelashes yet? (If you have, sorry I can not see them in the pictures)

I use the strips like these, cut a bit off and apply it with tackyglue and a wooden skewer. That would finnish your lovely ladies.

i tried before and it is difficult and failed twice !
might be need more skill ...;P

btw I'm going to Korea in August (because i'm Korean lol) and maybe someone will let me know how to applying eyelashes!

 

Practise makes perfect - it is not that difficult. There are tons of vids on youtube - though I do not apply the the eyelashes inside the head like most seem to do. I cut the lashes to size - use something like a toothpick or a wooden skewer to apply some tacky glue on the upper eyelid - inside the eye (not inside the head!) and then apply the eyelash to the outer corner of the eye and carefully put the rest in place using another toothpick. Make sure the eyelash doesn't stick out to the inside of the head or the eye will push it and it will look weird.


My perfect boy Tom (Annabeth) fell on his face and now his face-up has a chip - right between the eyes... Lol. Maybe I'll give him a new face-up tomorrow? I really should start working on another doll.

 

Why do they always land on their faces?!

Ryan fell and his faceplate flew off and landed face down on my laptop. Thankfully there was no damage!

I swear I've dropped my dolls and their heads more in the last two days than I have in years. Haven't chipped one yet, but it's just a matter of time. .__.

Also your toothpick tip helped me with putting in some lashes on one of my dolls a few minutes ago For some reason my mother has 100s of toothpicks for no reason but as weird as that is considering she doesn't use them, i'm glad they seem to be coming in handy in this hobby.

URGHHHHHH this wait is horrid, I just want my girls already!!!!!!!!!! Everyones beautiful pictures makes it easier though.

Waiting for something and wanting much more is even worse though. I need to buy some bodies before I start on more dolls... and I do have a Becca on my list - on the new body. And then all the boys that were already on there. Well, I already ordered another Fdoll body from a dealer. When she orders it, it is soon enough to deside which head will be on it (achum - Gayane)

 

It was really easy, actually it was pretty fun! So I'm looking forward to doing it again on other dolls.
I bought eyelashes in 3 different colours for various doll plans, like blonde for my Laia, so at least i'll be more prepared when the dolls arrive. The last time(s) I used lashes I attached them on the inside of the eye with eye putty rather than glue. It shortens the lashes as well, I'm not really fond of super long lashes so that was fine by me, but the ones I'm using this time are like 4-5mm long so attaching them that way would make them too short.

Good luck with all your dolly endeavours. I'm already considering buying more dolls even though my DIM dolls aren't even here yet. The more dolls I get the longer my wants list grows, somehow.

usually i bought my wig from monique and leekeworld but long mohair is from my mate and short one is i bought in ebay and custom by myself

I think the new DIM glamorous girl body is really cute though I wish it didn't have such big boobs :P. I like delicate bodies on dolls but also small boobs/ no boobs. I might want the new body for my Agathe if you could choose it with small chest.

I actually like the body with big boobs because you can make your girls look more mature instead of little children. But I agree with you it will be cool that they offer the bust option like iplehouse do.

I would order the new DIM glamorous girl body, but I already have two girls with huge boobs LOL

You all have such lovely dolls, DIM has really unique and beautiful sculpts! I am working on getting a DIM Benetia head to hybridize with a Doll Chateau body, and I was wondering what size wig DIM happy's take? Also, their eye size, and if it would be possible go a size down because I prefer the iris not to fill up the entire eye, if you know what I mean? I like a more realistic look ^_^

Your Larina looks so beautiful in a doll Chateau body. That's the reason Larina is my favorite from DIM doll because every time I see her with a different style or face-up she always look gorgeous. She looks gorgeous even as a boy

What's her name?? I love what you did with her. She looks mature but at the same time very sweet and innocent with a little bit of a rock star. I really like her eyeliner

 

Thank you! ^_^ I have a bit of an obsession with Little Red Riding Hood, hehe so I guess I was after that look with my Agathe. But she ain't no sweet little girl afraid of the big bad wolf, the wolf should be afraid of her!

 

My Laia has 6-7 inch wig but she has such a tiny head! My friend's Luria uses 7-8 inch wigs, so I guess it varies. I have 12mm eyes for my Laia, all the 14mm eyes I bought for her are too big and don't sit well in her head.
