DIKA Doll discussion

So, I'm planning on ordering Autumn on the three part torso during the July event. :3
I had a different doll in mind before, but when I saw him I realized he'd be more appropriate for the character I needed him for... (thinking I'll be getting a tiny with the event, another head will tempt me too much, and I don't like jointed hands...)

Anything I should know about DikaDoll? There aren't really any posts in the company review thread...

Yeah~ Dika's Autumn seems to gather more fans increasingly. ^__^

I have three dolls from Dika and they all are of high quality. Their production times are really fast (at least compared to some other companies) but I'm not sure if the summer event will affect that if people make loads of orders during that time.

My Autumn arrived a bit tightly strung, his head likes to "snap" back to its original position (which is, chin down, in a bit of a sulky manner as seen in the promotional photos ^3^ But I think it's adorable and very "in-character" of this doll so it's not a negative point to me~)

Dika's default face-ups are really well done in my opinion, in fact so much so that they are little works of art actually. Dika's 70 cm male bodies are really "massive" although they don't look muscular. Most 70 cm clothes can be a bit tight on Dika's 70 cm body so if you're ordering clothes for him, check the measurements. Also, it's safer to buy clothes that look at least a little looser on the promo pics. If - for example - pants seem tight like a "second skin" in promo pics, my quess is that it won't fit my Autumn. And I'm usually right in that.

I'm also very pleased with my tan Adler, I think Dika's Adlers (and all Dika's dolls in general) deserve more love and attention from the dolly community than they have now~ But I'm very much a DikaDoll fan so... I have nothing but good things to say about them and their dolls. heheh. So, not a very objective opinion. ^^;;

 

Hey guys, I have a quick question- has anyone tried one of the regular 1/3 boy heads on the 70cm body? I know MOC's website says that the neck measurements are the same, but I'm unsure about the proportion. Reason I'm asking is that I'm planning a vampire character that Ruber would be PERFECT for, but I absolutely adore the 70cm body with the 5-part torso. Thanks in advance!

 

I didn't think anyone else owned an Alder, mines pink, not tan, and I do love him fiercely. He's so thoughtful looking.I'm terrible about taking photos. I should snap a few more.

It's so nice to hear that I'm not the only one who adores Adler~ ^3^ He does have that pensive look about him, like he's lost in thought, trying to figure out something important. Yet he looks so intelligent and really kind and gentle. I love that about him, since most BJDs are either sulky, angry-looking or ethereal - nothing wrong with those looks, but I thought Adler had something truly unique and charming in his expression...

I'd love to see photos of your pink Adler, radient_blue! Do take some and please post them here. It doesn't matter if you're not so used to photography, I'm sure I'll like your photos if Adler's in them~ ;3

The wig he's wearing now is a default one from DikaDoll and I'm waiting for a new wig for him. The clothes are also a bit off for his character too, since I think he's more of a "suit kind of man" compared to the casual attire he has in these pics.

Ah your Bram is very handsome. My Marcus didn't want to get dresses for photos today. I can't really blame him, most of his clothes are too Wintery for the weather we've been having.

Wow, thank you radient_blue~ I love your Marcus too! Dika's senior male body is so handsome, so no wonder Marcus wants to show himself off a bit~

It's really interesting to see how the same mold has different characteristics when cast in different colored resin. Normal pink looks great on Adler too!

I took a peek on your Flickr and I think your photography's fine, don't be ashamed to share some of your dolly pics here either, and do post some in the gallery section too if you feel like it. ;3
Also, all of you who own Dika's seniors or SD-sized dolls please post more photos~ I'd love to see more and more of owner pics of these fantastic dolls!

I'd especially like to see more of Dika's grey resin since I'm considering getting one of the seniors or SD boys in grey...

I really love Dikadoll, their quality is great!! I own a 1/4 girl, some 1/4 bodies, BB Bobbie and my huge boy Xibatian, and I'm sure some more Dikadolls will join my family. I'm dreaming of an Autumn since I first saw him. Unfortunately I already got an other doll for the character I had in mind for Autumn now, but I still cannot get him out my mind. Now reading about the Event, I start to think of Autumn again

I'm looking for all pictures I can get of Autumn (and other Dikadolls!) at the moment, can't get enough

 

NioSpica - Thanks, I'll keep that in mind with the sizing. He's somewhere around the measurements of my 70cm DZ boy, bigger in some areas, thinner in others... I'll have to check the size of his thighs against my DZ boy, see how hiiiis clothes fit...

I ordered my autumn today through MoC, so the order will be submitted on the 11th, I think... 11th or 12th, don't recall.

Ah well, I have him on layaway anyway. This'll be my first time pre-ordering, I've gotten my other dolls in stock. The wait's going to kill me, I'll probably get a ton of stuff for him before I even get him.
The current event is kind of awesome, great pricing, and I'm so excited for him. :3

 

Im so happy . My order was submitted last day in june to Dikadoll and then i think if my order is near that event and it was. I wanted gift on Shall head Pure white skin. Hope that rosedolls can get this head for me. Im so happy and thankful to Dikadoll and Rosedolls .

 

Does anyone know if the extra hands the 73cm comes with are specific? I'm getting a Shall and I saw a box opening, and the extra set of hands were flipping the bird, lol. It may be weird, but I really hope I get that set! XD

 

I got those rude hands as well. They aren't at all my Marcus' style. I still haven't decided what to do with them.

Dika doll seems to have a really quick turnaround. I ordered My Alder in late November, and he arrived in January.

 

I just hope their time isn't slowed too much by all the orders placed during the event.

Oh! I also wanted to ask... What size eyes does everyone like using?
16mm is the standard, right? I prefer a smaller, more realistic, look, would 14mm be pushing it with them?
Specifically, with Autumn? I suppose I might be able to find a small pupil eye in 16mm, but I haven't seen too many in the right color.

 

I use 16 mm with my Autumn but it doesn't leave much white on show so it has an "anime-like" big eyed look to it. :3. I think I'll try 14mm one of these days to see how that will fit. ^3^

MagickDraven - I got the "flip"-finger set on both my Autumn and Adler so, I think Dika might send them with every 73 cm senior~
My Xav (Autumn) could show his rude side every now and then, but Bram (Adler) isn't like that at all so... I have two bonus rude hands in delicious tan resin that will probably never be used...

Does anyone know if the 73cm heads will fit okay on the normal 1/3 (64cm) Dikadoll body? They have the same neck circumference, so it should fit. But, will it look okay in proportion? I want an Autumn, but I don't really want him 73cm tall.

Can I see more Autumns?!!!

Oh, also does anyone have a tan Dikadoll I could see more pictures of? Their tan seems to vary greatly depending on the lighting of the photo.

Emeraldwings - According to their measurements, Autumns head is actually smaller around than most the heads in the standard SD size range. Autumns 22.5cm, while most all of the 1/3 dolls heads are 23cm.

So, he'll look larger headed on one of those bodies, but no larger headed that most the dolls on those bodies already look... In theory he should be okay.

emeraldwings: I can post more pics of my tan Adler in different lighting (the tan resin looks darker when photographed inside, outside it takes a lighter shade), but unfortunately I think Dika has cancelled making tan dolls. I managed to get my Adler in tan after they had officially decided to stop producing tan dolls (thanks to my kind dealer... ), but I'm pretty sure they won't make any more exceptions...
That's a shame because Dika's tan is sooo beautiful (if I say so myself... ^^;; )

I'd love to see more pictures of your Adler. I've neer seen a tan Dikadoll in person, so more pictures would be wonderful. I currently only have one tan doll, an Angelheim Kozy, and he's a very dark, tan resin. I've already spoken to Dikadoll and they are willing to help me get my Autumn! I think they just got so many complaints about the marbeling and sanding (if done) that they don't sell the tan anymore through their sites or dealers. I hope I can get Autumn soonish. He's perfect for a character of mine.

Wow, Sadomina, your XiBatian is wonderful~ My friend has a Batian and I'm a big fan of both Batians. :-D
To answer your question; my Autumn is White Skin. In the pics I posted earlier, I've given a light touch with Photoshop to them, so they might not show his skin color as whitey white as it really is. :3 I'll try to take a more realistic photo of him soonish.

emeraldwings: Wow, that's great to hear! O3O Maybe they'll then agree to make a set of jointed hands for my Adler in tan if I ask them nicely... ?

@NioSpica: my Xibatian is also WS, I was just wondering how the NS would look like since I'm unsure if I should choose WS for Autumn again or try NS. I love Dika's WS so much, it is not too bright, looks still natural. But I'd love to see more pictures of your boy, can't get enough of this beauty!!

Today I just order the 1/3 Male Ruber-vampire from Alice Collections. For those that own this doll, and or have the double jointed 64cm male body, how well does it work in posing? Then as for the fangs do they look as fake as they do in the photo?

Im so exited . My boys get own wigs from Leeke. Autumn:s wig is event colour Blackberry LR_088 and Shall:s is customeize same style top colour Slategrey and bottom Royalgray. I love Leeke event colours. Autumn is aristocrat vampire look and Shall is gothic styled. Its difficult to find they clothes that fits they own style and what fit they big body.

 

Congrats on getting a Vampire Ruber! I have one, too!

Sorry, I can't help with the body. I have my Ruber on a DIM boy body from 2007.

 

I really should hang out on this thread more, my Dikadoll Chi arrived from having a new faceup not too long ago and he looks great...when I have a camera I'll post pics...it's AWESOME to see everyone else's Seniors too, as there weren't many of them around at all! D:

I'm very glad to see here another one. It seems to me that it's very rare mold. My Severus came to me a month ago but his wids came only yesterday and now I try to choose the best from thee wigs. I'm going to visit my Mom this week end and to show Severus to her. She doesn't know about my dolls there fore I'm worry about her opinion.

Chukcha2 - I saw your Severus somewhere! There's also another one called Lemuel on Flickr but for all I know ours and that one are the only Chi's out there o3o I'll try and take a photo now...he's just such a beautiful boy X~X Felix doesn't have his proper eyes yet or eyelashes, so apologies 'cause he kind of looks like a Zombie xD I'll be ordering him a wig from Crobi soon too.

 

AlchemicCandy, yes, you could find him in Flickr, but I have there only technical photoes (unpacking and so on) because I waited the black wigs for two monthes. Now I have them but Severus sits in one dark komono and doesn't want to wearing anythind als. He really has a strond character as in HP-books
I know also one Chi (sorry I don't remember his name) there but I don't like him because he has unpleasant lips. They are very red and fat. I'm glad that I found them later then I paid for my boy. If I'ld see them early I do not book this doll.

Hello~ I'm just wondering where to buy Dikadolls? I emailed jeeryama from ebay but I havent gotten a reply from him yet. It's been 2 days.

 

If you're in the US, once Mint on Card opens up again, you can order through them. They're doing a physical move at the moment, and so aren't taking orders through the website either. But you can still look through their website catalog anyway - mintoncardinc.com No ordering, in-stock or individual page prices are up, but use the brand links to the right and you can still look at the dolls for the moment!

 

Does anyone know a place where I can find what resins would match with a dikadoll yellow or normal skin? I really want to get autumn however 70cm is a little too big for me so I was hoping to find a good matching 60-63cm body possibly?

Drina and Paxita, I love love love your boys! Here's a recent one of Felix, his wig came, but his eyes have not :I and he's getting grumpy with me about it...


I absolutely love Chi as a sculpt; he's so versatile- with the company faceup, he looked quite gentle, but now he's got a custom one and he's much more himself, he really does look stern and pissed off haha.

 

Love all the latest picspam! Finally Dikadoll gets more attention. And I loooooove your Chi, AlchemicCandy, he's so expressive and melancholy! I fell in love with that sculpt when I saw the promo pictures and was eagerly awaiting owner pictures, unfortunately Dikadoll isn't that popular yet but who knows...?
One question though, on the promo pictures it looks like he has a frown, is it sculpted or just painted on?

I've got a dika senior and a DOI head, the body is white skin so the skin match is completely out of question and the head is too small for the body. I don't know if other body sizes could fit DOI heads...
