DIKA Doll discussion

I think that waiting time depends from who you've ordered. Jeeryama ships dikadoll in one month/one month and half, same from alice's collection. (but that's what I've seen from the waiting room posts)
I've ordered mine on christmas and I'm still waiting...

 

@Debra: Where did you order your kid from? Each place is different when it comes to shipping times.

i ordered through rosedolls i have emailed vanessa again since and she is very very nice and got in touch with dikadoll for me plus she has brilliant feedback so im in no way worried but dikadoll got back to her saying yolanda is not ready even tho it has been exactly 2 full months of waiting.

Vanessa has said however although they didn't give her a time frame to expect her by she reckons another 2 weeks seems likley so i will wait and see

 

I ordered Miao from Mint on Card in January, & I just got the notice today she's shipped from Dika Doll! AND it's my birthday LOL

I've ordered trough rosedolls to! Vanessa has said that my doll is ready to ship but they don't decide to ship him...
Probably is the same for your Yolanda, and probably dikadoll is waiting to fulfill all the orders from Rosedolls and ship all the dolls in one time (but this is only a supposition...).
Anyway, I'm really upset for this thing... I've seen a bunch of people that have received their doll ordered in february and I'm here waiting, plus, when He'll be shipped I'll probably be out of town for two months... If I'm lucky I'll see him on june...
The only good thing in this situation is that Vanessa is really a nice person and It's a pleasure to be in contact with her...

I just got my Yolanda from dikadoll... I ordered her in normal pink but she looks very pale, are the pictures just misleading as to how dark the normal pink is? Either way she is amazingly cute and so poseable!

I just got my Shall in white with a 5-part torso and jointed hands(teensy-tiniest elastic I've ever seen!) about two weeks ago. I'm sooooooo in love with him - even if he did decide to throw himself over backwards earlier today and scare the daylights out of me.

His name is Hyacinth.

Got my Dikadoll Autumn in the mail. He was damaged from being too tightly strung but i contacted my dealer and sent photos so hopefully something can be done.

@Maracron Tea- Oh yes I was really surprised that there wasn't more pictures of the Autumn doll, I have to say, Dikadoll didn't really seem to take photographs to show the sculpt of the face enough So I had to do extra research and find pictures of just the head and stuff D:

I LOVE DikaDoll so much! Their sculpts are amazing and I think they're kind of underrated though...hence why I shall be buying another one at the end of the year to get that awesome Christmas offer >:}

DK is definitely underrated, my Batian has arrived yesterday and he's perfect and beautiful, company photos really don't give justice to that awesome sculpt!

Hi everyone - thread newbie I'm really interested in Dika Doll's youth female body (the 56cm one) but had a couple of questions - do you think they are good posers (I saw some pics and they looked great but I know you can't always trust company/agent pics)? Also does anyone know how well their (pink I would assume) resin matches to current Dollzone normal pink (or current DiM resin, as they're identical at the moment)?

I have Dika Doll Ruber Vampire and I must say , I think he is the best poser I own!

 

I think they pose pretty well I say! I have the 3 jointed as opposed to the 5 jointed torso body, so I can't give you much info on that...But the 3 jointed works really well

Could you please advise? I'm going to book Dikadoll SD boy via Alice's Collection. They include something named "An extra pair of hands". What is it? Am I understand right that this is addition pair of hands with sign(s)? So if I take this doll I'll have two pair of hands?

 

Squeaky - I think you could post a different photo of Jensen every day and I would never get tired of him. :3

Chukcha2 - It should litterally just be an extra set of hands for your boy. Very handy to have incase something ever happened to your original pair.

Im so inlove with Dikadoll sculpts! But, unfortunately, I have sworn off 70cm boys because I have come to the conclusion that they are just too big for me! Otherwise, I would get Batian, Murong, Zura, and Autumn! They are all so gorgeous! *sobs*

Thank you so much, Molliebean! I have to admit I think Dikadoll did a wonderful job on his face-up! I love his eyebrows the most; you can see each little wispy hair in his brows! It's just amazing to me! I wish I could do face-ups like that!

 

Rabbit-moon We really seem to have the same taste in dolls....my Doll-Love Brian is named Dimitri!
I really like Zura too. My wish list is getting soooo long!

 

LOL! Yeah, my Wish List is getting too long, too! (I keep another Wish List in my computer, because it's too long to be listed in DOA.)
And, it doesn't help that all these companies keep coming out with all these gorgeous dolls! I just wish that Dikadoll was more popular! I really don't get it! Their sculpts are wonderful and the 70cm boy body is lovely (albeit, it's not as muscle-bound as a lot of current 70cm boys)
However, I do wish they would redesign the 1/3 boy body to look more like the 70cm versions. I have to admit 1/3 boy body leaves me a little cold. My Ruber is currently on a DIM ver.2 body from 2008. The resin match is quite good, but Im still looking for a better body.

(Also, I like your little tribute to Bodding. I was a Bee Gees fan, too. Sorry to hear of Robin's passing. It's like all the idols of my youth are leaving. Atleast, I still have a lot of fond memories because of their music.)

GUYS I have a horrible problem!
I took apart to restring my dikadoll autumn, and one leg strung up fine, but the other leg I can't get the elastic past halfway down his calf!
looking through the hole, I see the hole stops halfway and continues at an awkward angle, so I only see a fraction of light. Why would they do this??
so the elasic gets stuck hitting the inside, and obviously I cant make elastic bend 90 degrees!
what do I do??

 

Have you tried using a piece of thin string to pull the elastic all the way through?

 

yeah of course. the hole itself just isnt clear all the way through the leg. its like they drilled it from each end and didnt clear the middle D: I used thin silk and that fit with some fiddling, but god knows how they managed threading the elastic through in the first place.
im so stumped, im tempted trying to drill it out myself.

 

Oh yikes...that is strange. I hope you can fix it!

 

Drilling it out would probably be the best, baring that some serious elbow grease. Since Dika sent it like that and the elastic did go all the way through before it must be possible to do so again, you may just have to pull it harder then you'd like.

DeathlyDee - do you have any craft wire, or plant wire? Something thin, a long enough length so you can loop it around the end of the elastic loop, and then twist around itself so you have a "leader" that won't collapse on itself like a piece of string would.

When it comes through the lower end of the piece, wind the end of the wire around a pliers or needle-nose pliers head, and you'll have plenty of strength to pull the elastic through.

 

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, Hobbywhelmed, but I've tried threading silk through it, and even wrapping the entire thing in plastic so itll slide through easier, but the 90 degree bends just catch just about everything. At this point im worried about the resin cracking if I drill into it.
Does resin crack??

 

Im so happy :3. Soon my order is going to dikadoll and they made Autumn on white skin and jointed hands for me. He comes 5 joint body. Next Dikadoll for me is Shall. Now long waiting. Please send here more photos of Autumn and Shall.
