Devotion Doll Discussion Thread

I have a bite in ws from the previous preorder that I adore but I also had to order one in the new brick red! No clue where I’m going to get a body for him but I’m so excited!

 

Oh yay I've been procrastinating on making a discussion thread... I have a devotion doll Lunevis in white I bought secondhand from Angeltoast I want to put on a 2ddoll 68cm girl body, and I hopped on both the mini Bite and Bite SP orders. My Bite SP in normal I'm putting on the DZ slim 75 body and the mini Bite in white...idk. Prolly a DF-H slim boy msd or something.

Oh my Bite SP is very ah, how shall I say, kenergy coded. Yes I have names for both, my Bite SP is called Nil instead of his first name. My mini Bite's name is Florin

 

I am waiting for a Tawny Mini Bite and I am so excited! I love Bite face so much but I don't do big dolls, so imagine having one of your fave sculpts turned into your fave size - Absolute Dream!

I have already his wig and eyes at home, planning for his body (DF-H). No mane yet, but I have an idea of his look and background story

 

I have an original release tawny Bite on the way secondhand, and a white skinned Mini Bite ordered! Both to shell ocs of mine. I'm really excited, even if Bite is a new size for me and I have no clue what body to get him.

 

The Bite is for a superhero oc of mine named Icarus, whose main outfit I will almost surely have to make myself. I basically dress him like comic books dress female superheroes, so he has a leotard with a cut-out in the chest. He's kind of a himbo, lol

The Mini Bite is a vampire named T! Very much the all-black, longcoat wearing cool guy look.

 

As far as I know, my Mini Bite will be a gargoyle LOL kinda cheeky and chaotic character. I still need to keep working on his background!

 

Does anyone have any updates on how the Mini Bite production is going?

 

I've seen some have made it to their owners already, I'm a little surprised mine hasn't arrived since I bought a single white one. It's okay if he took time tho I still have to get his eyes to come home.

 

Oh really? That's quick! I ordered one tanned head. Fingers crossed ours makes it quick!

 

My secondhand Bite head came in! It's so cute and intensely weighty. I love that the head has the name of the sculpt in both the head itself and the headcap! But uh....what bodies does Tawny fit? I've never had a doll this big before!

 

Yeah I just got an address confirmation email from devotion doll so it's a fast production time. I assume Bite SP will be shipping in March-April by that logic.

I'm not even sure what head to give it, if I bought that. The body looks nice.

 

I had one ordered basically the second I saw the IG update—I’m trying hard to keep it to just one, for now, even though I solidly have ideas for multiple characters I could put on it!

I deliberated this one too! What I’ve concluded is that the 12-13 cm neck can do things like Soom Idealian 72/75 heads, and other heads built for that body, iplehouse EID M and HID M heads, and pretty much any of the “big boy” heads that smaller Chinese companies are releasing. Personally, mine is going with an old ID72 head that I already have, or a FHSH head, and if I can’t talk myself out of the second one, it would be with a granado head, or with a small-artist horned demon head that I’ve fallen in love with on TaoBao.

My big question is how am I going to dress her? I’m guessing she’ll fit ID75 clothes that have a little more room in the chest?

 

It looks like they plan to do a second release either this month or next with the head they were showing on their instagram.

By the way my mini Bite came in today he's so cute! He's just a silly little bean I can't wait to get him put together

 

My Mini-Bite arrived yesterday and I couldn't be happier with it. The quality of the resin is incredible, the colour is beautiful and the attention to detail is unbeatable. I fell in love with the normal Bite some time ago but I don't collect big dolls. It's been a good luck to have this model released in 1/4 version. It is beautiful. I love it, I'm in love with him!

He still doesn't have a name yet. I had some 14 mm red mako eyes for him but unfortunately do not fit properly.

Well devotion doll did post that with tariffs some heads got delayed with the Bite SP order and she's doing air mail. I got a tracking number from it so I'm pleased. Just gotta figure out who's painting him now.

Due to the tariff situation, our single head packaging is being held at the Chinese customs for a longer time than expected. For this reason, there is unfortunately a delay to the shipment of Bite SP single heads. We are trying to fix this situation by shipping more packaging via air, which increases our cost drastically, but we are doing so at our own cost to avoid further delay. I wonder if that’s also going to hold up the Vigorous75 bodies… I think I paid for UPS shipping on mine by default though.

 

I've got mine! Not sure when it will get here, but it's made it into the US and on the move! I also had the same experience with the shipping label just randomly updating. I was really excited when I saw that!

 

Mine is in an identical situation, I emailed devotion and they said it was a tariff issue, but I still don't understand how that would cause a month long delay Whatever, I'm glad to know he'll be home soon. My guess is no more tariff concerns but idk it's all a gamble it feels to me.

 

That was my understanding, too! It's already been handed off to Seattle and moved on to the next city, so I'm sure it's safe to assume no tariff worries!

 

Honestly, I've had SD bodies arrive and I haven't had to pay tariffs for months. I'm crossing my fingers my recent 75 body I don't have to worry about that.

 

I know people who ordered Rosen Garden Bee8's had to pay them. I think some of the companies are having to alter how they're shipping them, and that might have been part of the issue. But that's just me theorizing these, as I don't know for certain what the exact hold up was. Crossing my fingers for you, too, for your 75cm body!

 

I did hear DHL is charging tariffs from a doll hobbyist I follow on IG, so yeah I think it depends on the company

 

I’m in Canada, so the opposite side of the tariff situation, but I paid tariffs via UPS on a secondhand doll I bought from the US. It should have let you know when it cleared customs if there were fees owing, so if it just quietly started tracking in the US you missed the tariff!!

Also hoping there’s an update on the 75 bodies soon. Or a third order period, so I can snag a second one… I don’t even have the first one yet, and I’m already strongly contemplating another…

 

Popping in to say I got my Bite SP head in!!!!!! My lord, he is so freaking gorgeous, I can't even! T___T I super hope everyone who ordered one gets theirs soooon!!

 

Mine came in and is peachier than my dz slim 75 but a faceup can remedy it. I have big plans for him :3

 

Well, I messaged Devotion Doll on IG and apparently my 75 Vigorous body should be shipping sometime around this weekend!! I’m pumped to get to see it in person, and lowkey hoping they do another preorder for it next year, because I could use another one…

 

Does speedynest global logistics come up as the sender for devotiondoll? I just got a notification for a UPS package from Canada that I think might be it!!

Edit: confirmed with 6anli that that is my girl—UPS doesn’t have her yet, but I’m vibrating with anticipation, and checking every day to see when they do!

6anli also told me they don’t know exactly when, but they will be offering this body again sometime (so I grabbed a head that I’d love to one day put on it!)

 

Thats amazing news!!!!! I've been eagerly awaiting to hear about my girl as well. I ordered her on early release because she's just so beautiful.

I reached out almost a month ago though and was told she'd been shipping out soon but then nothing since. I was getting real worried.

 

I ordered genuinely in the first 15 minutes of the preorder, and they only have to ship it domestically within Canada, so I’d guess if mine already has a tracking number, more people’s will soon. It’s actually so rough refreshing tracking every day though, to see if it’s been brought to UPS yet. I’ll be sure to update speedily when it does.

 

Same here- I was waiting for that release like a gamer on launch day Again she’s just so beautiful. And finally to have a tall girl, absolutely impossible to resist.

I’m in the US, though— I can only imagine the battles being faced. Our current mailing situation and tariffs are a menace. I'll just need to be patient.

Most of my collection is 75cm dolls, and it always bugged me that I couldn’t have a girl as tall as the boys. I did get the Miracledoll 75 body, but the anatomy is a bit exaggerated. So when 6anli announced this lovely girl with a more natural, athletic build, I was over the moon—it'll be fun to compare and contrast.

Having recently received a fair bit of mail from the US, I will say, especially by courier, it’s more expensive, but still travelling as quickly/normally as it did pre-tariffs. I’ve gotten dolls by UPS twice, and clothes by DHL (no verdict on USPS/Canpost yet).

omgggg I can’t wait to see the comparison there, because I’m waiting on that exact Miracledoll body! Mine’s supposed to come in September. I owned 2 75+ cm dolls when I ordered this body, and since ordering her, I’ve ordered an old ID72, a dollzone 73cm, the miracledoll, and now a “box group” 75cm body for a floater—this size is addictive.

I do solidly agree that with a new 75+cm boy coming out every other week, we direly needed more girls that height as well. This girl’s build is functionally an idealized version of my very athletic girlfriend’s body, down to being taller than most of my boys, so the instant I saw it, I knew I needed at least 1.

Also, can I just say, for a small artist doll that is 75cm, the price of this body is incredible? Siva was $600, which is less than a Soom Idealian75 (~791), barely more than a DF-A 75cm guy ($575), on par with a Dollzone 73cm guy (600), less than a loongsoul 75 (640), a fair bit less than miracledoll’s 76cm girl body (480 vs 536), a little more than a ringdoll 78 (569), and a little more than a telesthesia (550), less than a Supia ballerino75 (645), and way less than an iple HID (728). Despite being a small artist doll from a place with a fairly high cost of living (I think they’re in west coast Canada!) these girls are so affordable for dolls of their scale. I didn’t even look up Story of Seventh Day, LLDT and The Voice, though I vaguely remember those being 1k+ if my memory serves me right! I didn’t realize just how good the price was until I started comparing with other 75+ cm bodies!!!

 

Anyone who’s waited for a devotiondoll before—is it normal for them to take forever to ship? They gave me the tracking number for her on July 25, and it’s August 11th and UPS still doesn’t have the package. I’m starting to get worried that my doll was lost on the way to UPS, and 6anli hasn’t answered the DM I sent last week asking about expected shipping times…

That’s frustrating on one hand, but super reassuring on the other—if this is normal for them, I don’t have to worry that they’ve disappeared, or my girl’s not going to get her body, which is a huge relief!

 

Okay, another update: they’re not shipping from Canada anymore. They’re having the dolls shipped directly from China to us—they’ve said it’ll take about 3 weeks.

I don’t live at the address that my doll shipped to anymore. It’s my parents’ place. I have no idea if there’s been a delivery attempt since she was sent off, and in one of the discords I’m in, someone else received theirs in a box that was utterly thrashed. So I’m a little nervous. I’m popping over to my parents’ house today to see if she shipped…

 

DoA never likes my photos but I've posted them on different doll related discords. My box was pretty damaged on the outside and my doll box is unusable for storage. I'm so lucky my doll wasn't damaged because the packing didn't see to hold up to the shipping brutality. I'm in the US. I ordered through Clover and it seems like my order shipped directly from Dollzone (who does the casting for Devotion Doll I was told). I hope everyone's order makes it safety! Like Chameleon, said I received my tracking on the 25th was well.

 

Thanks for sharing the pics of your box!!! I asked 6anli for the tracking number for my girl who is ostensibly still in China—we’ll see if they answer my DM before she arrives (assuming that she arrives safely!)

 

Alright, so I’m still talking to 6anli about the missing bodies, and I’ve learned some things.

-the “estimated shipping duration” of their undisclosed untracked sea freight extravaganza is 25 days, which has more than passed on my order
-yes, all the dolls were shipped sea freight from China, without them disclosing that they did that anywhere on the site, and in contrast to how they said on the shopping page that the dolls would be shipping UPS from Canada
-DollSphere, their authorized dealer, also ships dolls via untrackable sea freight
-New Clover Singing is not an authorized dealer, and they will cancel orders if they think they’re going to NCS, but NCS does not ship sea freight
-next preorder, they will be more transparent about their shipping methods, and will have a more expensive option for shipping from China by Air—I specifically requested this be made an option, because I love this body, but I’m genuinely going to tear my hair out over it being missing right now
-they will be getting back to me about how long their untrackable sea freight package has to be missing before they cast me a replacement tomorrow, as customer service for their sea freight company is in China, and it’s like 3AM there
-it will be less than 3 months before it arrives, probably
-I got a shipping refund because I pointed out that I was lied to about the shipping methods used, and that my body being missing since July 25th is pretty abysmal

This all happened on the same day as I found out a private seller sold an item out from under me, so the bad mood might be clear in my tone, but putting it out to the audience—do you know of any other doll companies that ship to customers via sea freight???
